    I was surprised when you said matte finish, I usually run when they say matte anything. lol By the time you finished all of the products looked so good on your skin, not dry at all! I loved all of your techniques as well. Thank you so much for sharing with us!!

      Thank you ❤️ My memories of matte come from the 90s & I remember it looking very dry and cakey too - so when I was reading about this matte look I loved how it was different from how I remember, and it's also very much how I've been doing my makeup for a very long time. I thought it might be helpful to point out the products I've found to be effective and reliable from my experience 🌸

    Grace, I’m looking forward to your latest skincare video. Your skin is in great condition! I often think you could be an MUA - your knowledge of ‘best’ makeup techniques is impressive. Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge with us! ❤

      🥰 aww. Thank you so much ☺️ I’ve discovered so much with trial and error & keep repeating the same techniques because they work for me & I’ll continue to try out new techniques I come across & integrate them if they work. I also take into account how well the makeup wears throughout the day - sometimes makeup can look amazing upon application, but can completely deteriorate after a few hours. I find that these finer thin layers of strategically placed makeup not only look more natural, the wear time is often better too 😘

    Love this! And yes you’ve always done this but I really appreciate that you broke it down for us to show us why you did that way…such a great way to flatter the skin

    Hi Grace, my skin is normal to dry, but I really like Chanel Ultra Le Teint, as it has a good coverage for my sunspots. Although it is a matte foundation, it is not flat and not drying if I use a good moisturiser underneath.
    You are such an expert as applying makeup, but then your skin is very good, so it must be easier, unlike mine, which is uneven.

      ❤️ Thank you so much! Although I have discoloration, the texture of my skin is smooth, except for those pores up front -so once I've got them concealed well enough, I can move ahead with the rest of the makeup. I find application goes much faster since I've reduced the discoloration over the years ❤️

    Great idea and video! Could you try this look with Sisley and CdP? I find I prefer those brands to Chanel. And I no longer like Chantecaille.

      🌸 Thank you for the request! I just noticed that CdP came out with a new powder that I'm curious about bit.ly/3uaZxU1 and Sisley has a new foundation that might work well for this look bit.ly/48X9ljB I'm having a difficult time trying to determine the best shade to order on this one, but as soon as I can figure it out, I'll order it 🙌🏼

    Hello Grace. This video was very helpful. Application and placement of products is essential in achieving a beautiful, flawless look that you created. You’re a master at it. I love Lisa Eldridge lipstick in Velvet Sorcery for a bolder, evening look. It’s very creamy and not drying for a matte lip. 😍

      ❤️ Merci, Audrey 🌟 gosh - my skin has come a long way! It makes a huge difference in how much more natural my makeup looks since I don’t need as much coverage in the front anymore 🙌🏼 wishing you a wonderful weekend 🌸

    Always stunning makeup. I'm exhausted trying to work the dewy look, and now it is matte again. 😅 I don't own that particular Chanel foundation at the moment, but of all the products going on I thought that one made a visible difference and looked good. I am glad to see that formula playing well, that I can pick it up again next time.
    The luxury makeup collections seem to be a vacation vibe so far, first the winter icy skiing look, a bit of Cote d'Azur in the Chanel spring quad. I wonder if that means extra beachy summer? Might sound lame, but if we are all using our collections, then Events makeup is good. Grace does this well with dinner-out looks, and encorporating lifestyle. I could use quick errand makeup so I don't look like permanent hangover crap getting groceries. The neighbors might worry. 😊❤

      😄 At my age I've decided whatever trend I prefer - it will come back into style at some point ❤️ Dewy is definitely difficult for me to pull of, especially right in the front because of pores as well as needing to keep that concealer in place. Thanks for letting me know you're interested in quick errand makeup. It's actually one of my favorite looks to experiment with - so many constraints - including time and number of products 😄 I do more of those in vlogs, but I have some interesting new products from Jones Road that fit that purpose perfectly ❤️

    My Chanel 4 ombres eclat nuit palette arrives shortly and i'll compare it to this medium palette. They are in a comparable range to me..

      @@EverydayEdit o yeah🙌, i expect it to be like a more intense summer version, since this is quite cool and the warmer shades don't play well on my winter complexion. I was not very motivated to pick it up since everything else screams winter glow/spring pastels

    Not sure who started the matte return. To me there is nothing like glowing, healthy looking skin. Trends come and go, but beautiful skin will never go out of style. U look lovely as always. 😊

    • @EverydayEdit

      You're so right 🙌🏼 Trends do come and go - I've seen cargo pants go in and out of style countless times in my life 😄 The trend I featured in the video I posted today - cashmere smooth skin - is from many years ago. When I saw a recent article pop up about it, I started researching, and found articles from 2010 about the same trend 😄❤️

    I’m bummed they don’t stock the medium Les Beiges palette anymore as well-what’s up with that!!! Instead bringing out just more of the same. I bought that Chanel Le Teint Ultra foundation once, and it not only oxidized on my skin, but the entire bottle oxidized. 😮 Soon after I bought it. It is the only bottle of foundation I’ve ever had to throw out. Sometimes I mix in a dab of the Ultra Le Teint Velvet into my #1 or Les Beiges foundation to make them less glowy in the center of my face.

    • @EverydayEdit
      @EverydayEdit  8 місяців тому +1

      I'm not sure why it's not available currently, but I did recall there is a very similar palette carried by Chanel so I actually tested them out side-by-side 🙌🏼 That will be coming up in a video soon. It's Tisse Essentiel bit.ly/3ul9kGY They looked virtually the same ❤️ Great recommendation on the Ultra Le Teint Velvet. That's a great one too for the middle of the face 🌟

    • @janine4360
      @janine4360 8 місяців тому

      OMG that is exactly what I’d like to know!!! Because I’ve panned Tisse Essentiel - and could have done so a few times over, but that lightest shade is a disappointment. Tisse Essentiel is to me as Tisse Rivoli is to you! I am actually waiting - hoping - for the reformulation, that it is even better. Have a great Sunday 😃

    such a pretty look! I'm older with very very dry skin so I avoid anything matte. Unfortunately it isn't a good look for me. Matte foundation just requires too much work to have it looks nice and requires attention throughout the day to not look dry.

    This was one of the most helpful tutorials I have watched in a long time. I have dry skin but prefer a somewhat matte center. I don't know why I never thought about using two different foundations. I have all of the Chantecaille products so I'm definitely going to try this!
