Red Heart Yarns - I'm glad this video exists, however, it would be nice if you guys did a new version - with slower crochet and verbal instruction, as well as zoomed-in from a better angle of the crochet/stitch demonstrations. If UA-cam hadn't implemented the ability to speed up or slow down video playback, this would have been almost useless.
I am glad to read some of these comments as it makes me feel less dumb. This one from Red Heart as well as another one I tried to learn from on You Tube is very hard to understand. It is not easy to see and the instructions are way too fast. I am plowing thru making this cloche but I don't think it is completely accurate. If anyone knows of a better tutorial on You Tube, please share it. I also couldn't understand, at all, the instructions given in the booklet. Discouraging, indeed.
back again to get round 4 and onward - I couldn't find recommended yarn so my first attempt was with caron simply soft that I have and love the texture of but it made too soft and drapey … back now with lion brand pound of love and this is going better - confident I have it now!!
I ripped this apart I don't know how many times. After Round 3 it says you should have 22 horizontal clusters, I kept coming up with only 18 of them. I finally out of frustration settled for the 18 horizontal clusters. It took me 3 days to make this and I should have been able to knock this out in a few hours. The video helped but is not the best as far as being able to see exactly what stitch you were going into and also I agree with ravengirl78, video says same stitch, instructions say next stitch. Can someone from Red Heart QA this please.
Thank you for sharing this video, having repeatedly gone wrong following the pattern (no fault of the pattern) I am now merrily on my way to finishing my first hat and understand the reading of the pattern now. (Very much a beginner at crochet)
I'm so glad they made this video! I'm a visual learner and I'm not sure if I would have attempted to make the Charleston Cloche if it weren't for the video.
Hi Katie, Sorry to hear you're having trouble with this pattern! Please contact Consumer Services at www.redheart.com/ContactUs or (800) 648-1479 for pattern assistance.
I love the looks of this hat and wanted to make it for a Christmas gift but it's so hard to understand. The video is to far away from the work it's hard to understand which stitch to go in next. Please could you make a closer video to the work? Thank you and it is a beautiful hat.
Once I got it down, this hat was easy to do. It would be nice to have an updated video that is higher quality and better resolution and closer to the work to see the stitches more clearly. I was really hoping that the video would show how to fold and secure the brim of the hat like shown in the pictures and on this video. This is my first time crocheting a hat of this style and I crave visual representation for accuracy purposes. I was also a bit disappointed that there isn't a portion for the flower. All in all, I wouldn't have been able to get this far in this hat without this video. Just adding some positive criticism of the video in the hopes that maybe an updated one will be considered. Thank you.
this was really helpful to me - didn't understand the back of the loop from the 3 stitch meant the 3 chains we just did. Clarity. Although I agree this is a little fast I was able to follow along.
Thank you for your video. It took me forever to learn the pattern. Could you make a video on how to crochet the flower that goes with it? I had a problem following the pattern. A video will be helpful.
In the Charleston cloche you start with 18 clusters and they say to finish that way to the end The written instructions say that you have to finish with 22 clusters That makes sense to shape a cliche How do you go from 18 to 22? Both videos stop at 18 clusters and say to follow that pattern to the end Can you please explain Thank you!
Thank you for the video. However I found it difficult to really see the process with the darker yarn against a dark background, plus it would have been easier to follow had the camera been zoomed in.
This video assumes that you're an intermediate or advanced. I would definitely make a note that this is definitely not for beginner crocheters as you way too fasts. I would agree that this is not a good video. Sorry!
Definitely not for beginners, a better camera would help so you could see the closeups, please make a new video, the Cloche is so beautiful, I see you have a lot of disappointed crochet fans.
I'm sorry but the video is not tutoring its like a movie... No zoom in on the hook n the stitches... Nothing clear... Plus we need the explained pattern texted in your box down below so the work will be clearer.. Thank you
I’m just learning this stitch and rally frustrated because the tutor is too fast and the video isn’t close enough to see what she is doing…plus she is talking way too fast for me to follow!

A close up of the stitches would help as she crochets.

Thanks for the very clear explanation. It certainly helps.

Camera needs to be closer to work. Also you need to show all steps in the beginning. Visual spacial learners need all steps.
Please do a tutorial on pattern #LW1634. I'm having problems with row 22. I'm just learning 2 read patterns. Thanks

How about the hook size

Tried to download patter but it stops at end of first page and does not finish pattern!!

Needed close up can't see what your doing
