@36:42 - no "wildcards" for the Olympics - they are reserved qualify spots (8) with criteria. 2 of those spots are for past major champ or Olympic gold medalist (1 each) - who can't qualify by direct entry and in the top 400. Since Bencic is not taking the gold medalist spot, 2 past major champion spots become available. Woz got one and Emma the other. Because Emma declined the spot, Andreescu can go to the Olympics by taking that spot ( interesting?). Note that Andreescu can't use her special ranking for direct entry because her medical absent was less than a year ( ITF/Olympic criteria require 12 months minimum ). Osaka and Kerber's special rankings are valid for the Olympics to get direct entry.
