Being in Michigan and in my 60's, I have been thru so many snowstorms that they just make me wish I was retired already and could just stay home and hibernate.
Hey Ryan! I am a 6th grade student who is in love with weather and I would like to mention the SCP to my teacher. I also love the information you give your viewers.
@@RyanHallYall You mentioned in the last video that you needed programming help to label the maps, if I recall. Reach out to me if you still do: I'm a coder and a cartographer and would love to assist.
@@brightspacebabe Good. There's 0' degree sleeping bags that are not too expensive. The big canvass type are really comfortable, but too heavy for hiking.. Water, some canned food... If you're a Texas gal, you'll do fine! 😉
Great show, Ryan! I’m no longer a teacher but would definitely show some of your clips to my class if I was. I used to show them the weather model predictions all the time when snowstorms were possible. And I taught band… haha
I’ve been Up North Before And the snow scenery Is Absolutely Beautiful, Kinda Upset that Florida is A peninsula And prevents All the winter scenery From Entering, My Grandfather Said we haven’t gotten snow since 1977. Hopefully I can visit The North again And see that Beautiful Snow scenery ❄️🌨
I'm telling you we had a gully washer here in Washington today. I was traveling up I-5 to Olympia and I could not see but one car ahead and there was a lot of hydroplaning going on. I wasn't expecting it because I thought we were done with that system. Managed to get to where I needed to go and then it gradually cleared up.
Gotta love me a good old snow storm in the northeast. Here in Massachusetts just hope it moves out in time for thanksgiving lol. I also got a house on the mountains in Maine and I’m sure them people up there are hoping for that 30 inches😂
I’m in SW Ohio. You have been relatively close to what we have had go on. Only been watching you for around a month. Our local weather stations need to invest in a window so they can see what’s going on. They aren’t good in 24 hour spans yet attempt to do long range. Be safe. Be prepared
I'm probably one of the very rare people in the Parkersburg West Virginia area who loves the snow. Butttttt I was born in Ashtabula, Ohio on December 21, 1948, and spent 3 years in central Alaska in the Air Force half a century ago, so uh, yeah...me and snowfall, sure!
I have both my Subarus fixed and getting new tires, a set of all seasons and snow tire for each car. Always tend to get an extra couple inches up in the hills of Red Lion and Dallastown, compared to the valley York sits in. So I wanna be prepared to get up and down the hills to get into York and back if need be. I'm jealous of the actual mountains North of Harrisburg. Really jealous of the mountains in WV. I'm more North so I should get more snow!
I took my daughter years ago, to York to see Joan Jett in concert!!! It was fantastic! I love the round abouts driving!!! I live in the mountains of WV.....
Informative....great voice....and to the point.... Your my weatherman...I can't stand to listen to the other Weathermen voice's on UA-cam...they just don't have it.❤
That would be interesting over in Utah. We only got sent home once for a snow day when I was in school there. And it was because we were supposed to get like 18" in a 24 hour time span. And then the other time there was a early out snow day I had to stay at school because it was out last day of the musical. Driving home in the middle of the night that night was fun
I live in central Arkansas and currently, my closet is part summer and part winter clothing. According to my local weather forecast, we are going to heat up, again, in the next couple of days before cooling down, again, for perhaps three consecutive days. Seems as though we are shortening winter and expanding late spring and summer over the last couple of decades here. Bummer!
Just saw your video for the first time and subscribed. Very informative, thank you. Also noted you pronounced Appalachia correctly! Originally from Northern Michigan and now live in foothills of beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. Climate here can be a buffet.
SCP needs fine tuning in areas that are use to nuisance snow. While low land areas with high population may tend to be alarmist when it comes to 2-4 inch snow storms, hill towns regularly don't cancel or do a 1-2 hour start delay. And in areas of high elevation, as compared to low land areas adjacent, you can have a snow storm up high with rain in the valley.
This model already takes in to account all of the factors you listed plus many more including the individual policies from school districts on weather related closings
it seems like down here in Louisiana, we no longer have 4 seasons. we seem to now have only 2. Spring and Summer. that's basically what it feel like all though out the year. It's mid November and the temperatures are still sometimes in the 80's the coldest it's gotten so far is maybe in the high 60's maybe 67. It's a bit chillier at night but i don't feel it because i'm rarely outside my home past sundown. Sucks.
I really enjoy your reports. I'm in north Florida and I admit, I watch in the Winter, in hopes that we will have snow again. I think it was back in January of 2017 or 2018 and it snowed here, with lots of frozen rain. It was so cold and slushy here...but neat to see. Stay safe everyone 🤗 🥶❄️

@MAD DOG MATTIS AMEN!
You boomers got tricked into acquiring a whole lot of debt and made the financiers and banks rich. you could be retired right now.
Here we go again...old man winter is coming to pay us a visit right on time. Stay warm everyone. And be safe and smart.😘♥️🙏
12:10 SCP map - legend says 11/32/2021 hahahaah - I really enjoy your forcasts - thanks

I love your channel 1 you come on with energy 2 you don't drag it out until i am ready to fall a sleep .
Oh boy, all this reporting just gets me anxious for Winter. I ain't ready to suffer in Texas again.
Hopefully you learned something last year. And don't forget to thank the epa...
Once in a 75 year event hopefully but I wouldn’t be surprised
I am prepared this time. In Austin.

Vote for Beto O'Rourke and all your problems will disappear. He is like smooth turd being shoved down your throat but he will make it all better.

Again, as a teacher in the South the SCP is so fun to me! I will share it. Got my fingers crossed for snow in January or February!
I hope so to Mary

They needed to learn about wind chill for marching band, right?
@@acmepost haha. Exactly
Great video Ryan, bring on the Snowstorms !!! Love to Echo He has packages coming in : )

I was at Disney World on Christmas day 1983 (?) when it snowed. Seeing all those snowbirds in winter coats poolside was the funniest!

School closing forecast map is brilliant! I actually think the blues for the lighter stuff looks more wintery. Great job.

SNOW TOWN BABY
Don't forget epic floods, blazing fires, volcanoc eruptions of epic proportion, phenomenal cosmic power, and a goose

Bring on the snow for all of Indiana
"VALID: Friday 11/32/2021" so you're telling me there is an extra 2 days in this month? (regarding the School Closure Prob)
It's an example, so it isn't valid at all. Just another means to invalidate the 'data' and a little haha.
Hoping that Pittsburgh get significantly good snows this 2022
I like the map that has county boarders. Easier to find my location. Plus you get right to the point.
Damn. Winter is here. I’m smack dab in the bullseye of Lake Erie snowbelt on the south side of Buffalo. Gotta keep my attention on wind direct.
Last night we had a bad storm in RI. 3 tornadoes touched down!!!
Please snow lots!
It's about time it snows I think.
IM NOT READY TO GET COLD RYAN!!!!!

That would be a fantastic storm. Just enough to get out and do stuff but not enough to break your back shoveling

I want Indianapolis snow please. The pretty kind. Snowman snow, please 🥺❗😂
Avg Southern California Weather
Low 30s and highs in low 60s from Dec-March
Again I ask what model do u base your forecast on. You know you should base forecasts on a combination of models.
