Owned and drove an international ‘66 CO4000 and an ‘80 KW A model. A friend of mine owned a White with the 2 arrows design exactly like in the video. Drove it several times
Back in the day we got paid on Friday. That's when we filled out loh books. We hauled steel from Beth Steel in Balto to New England. Only one ICC crew on East Coast and they stayed in North Carolina. Yup little white pills (cross roads), Christmas trees, black beauties, footballs and more
The old Chevy tractor had big block gas engines, got about 4 miles to the gallon loaded. Anchor motor freight hauled cars out of Baltimore. We had a shop out 100 miles and worked on them.
jan doty : Hard to believe, ain't it? Finding a good picture of a Road Commode in most of these videos of trucks from yesteryear is about as rare as winning the power ball lottery. And contrary to what the singer claims, he damn sure never passed either one of the Whites I drove; the commode powered by a 425 Cat or my favorite, the one powered by a 400 Cummins Big Cam 3. 😊
Aaah, the gory days of trucking; back when they sang songs & made movies about us. They were without a doubt some of the best days of my life...
I saw many trucks like these on the road growing up as a young boy,the good old days!!!

I remember seeing the KW A-model at :58 when i was a kid. I used to see it all the time back in the late 70's. It resided in Massachusetts. Great Vid!

Like their passenger carrying counterpart, busses long ago, semi-trucks wound up [unfortunately IMO] !] with automatics.
My favorite is the one starting at :49. Alway been a Ford man since a kid. But during 50s and early 60s Chevy made better looking trucks.
Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. I think Ford made better looking trucks than Chevy during the 50s and early 60s.
Screaming Jimmi " GMC "
