Well described, complicated, hard to memorize, but easy to understand the steps.
Awesome Latisha, you are one hell of a presenter.
Thank You La Tisha. I am indeed launghing my webinar based business. Grant Engelmann, Better Body Boot Camp.
Should blur your stream key safety issue. Awesome job. Just what I needed.
Normally yes, but stream keys expire or can be reset which is what I did after recording this.
Hi La Tisha,
Thank you for sharing this. It will be a great help for us educators..
You're welcome!
Game changer! Thank you for sharing
Glad it's helpful! More on webinars to come :)
That was very helpful! Thank you.
Thank you for sharing this. Was easy to follow your presentation.
Just what I needed to know.. Thank you!!!
Of course!
I am excited to host my webinar in 2 weeks. This is very helpful! Thank you.
Please keep me updated with how it goes!
How did it go?
this was super well-done and easy to follow! when doing the streaming on FB Live, are you able to do it in a Q&A Format with more than one person on the stream with OBS?
Not at this time. For that I would recommend Restream or using Zoom broadcast to FB live.
What a great video. Thanks very much.
You're very welcome! Thanks for watching
Thank you !
Thank you for sharing about this amazing software
You're very welcome!
Thanks
This has been the most helpful advice and I'm super close to getting this to work. I'm still stuck, tho, on getting the document to show on the screen. I converted my keynote presentation to PDF. I did window capture and the options that came up did include Keynote but nothing showed (before converting) and the other options are primarily null except for Desktop, OBS and window server menu bar. Not even an option to show the PDF. What am I missing?
You might have to check your Mac settings and allow permission for those things to show. Go to system preferences then security and privacy then screen recording. You should be able to check OBS there. Then restart OBS.
Great ! You are a born teacher. Well, I want guidance for how can I call other subject matter specialists and experts for the audience, with whom I will be able to continue the conversation and ask questions for the audience, just like taking/hosting interviews on a topic. Please give your guidance.
You'll want to check out Restream.io You can have multiple hosts with that. And you'll be able to use OBS.
Great! Thanks for sharing :)
Glad it was helpful!
This was very helpful. My question is , is the webinar actually live or is it considered prerecorded? And did you record yourself talking through each slide?
In this case it's hosted live. So you're not recording yourself then playing it back. You're actually going live but using OBS so you can show your slides.
Then if you want, you can record that version and plug it into an automated funnel.
@@LaTishaStyles Ok great. Thanks so much for the clarity!
@@msconfidentlyme You're welcome!
Can you add additional hosts/instructors??
Great question! Unfortunately no. This is a simple broadcast option. However, if you use Zoom and choose the webinar add-on, you'll be able to invite additional hosts.
Thank you for sharing. Could I use OBS to first record the webinar and later stream to Facebook ?
Yes absolutely
This was very helpful. Does this only go to the people you invite with that link? I want to teach a lash extension course on fb live. They have to purchase the kit beforehand and when they do I would like to send them the link for the course...That part I kind of got on lock, but what I don’t understand is how to prevent my entire fb friends from seeing the live. I recently took a course for something on fb live, but the link was sent to me via email prior to the class. You had the option to watch it live with the link or if you missed it, it was a available to view for 24 hours then after that the link no longer worked. I thought that was pretty cool and wanted to do something like that for my future online students. I see that this can only be done via desktop and you must have that 3rd party software. My concern is privacy. I only want the students that purchased my kit and that have signed up to be able to view the live. Could you please enlighten me. Thank you!
If you want to make it private you'll need to create a FB group and then go live in there. But you won't be able to schedule it like this tutorial shows.
Instead, I would recommend setting up your course in something like Thinkific. That is what I use for my courses. you can check it out here: latishastyles.com/thinkific (partner link) or check out the video I created on how to set up a course.
LaTisha Styles thank you so much.
I’m wanting to start my webinar with just the webcam view of me for my introduction. Is it possible to start that way and then introduce the slides a couple minutes into the webinar?
Yep, you'll just need to create two different "scenes" in OBS. One that is using your slides as the source and the other that is using your webcam as the source.
Great! Now can you use the link to have people sign up to view the webinar and gather people's information to have them subscribe to your emails?
Absolutely. You'll just need something like ConvertKit and you're good to go.
@@LaTishaStyles I have Mailchimp. Will that work?
@@thedewars4christ Yep that will work also
Can you do this is in a fb group as well?
You can host a live stream but not scheduled like this tutorial shows.
thank you great content. what if i dont want to be in the webinar maybe jsut put a pic with my voice?
Yes absolutely. Just choose image instead of window capture and you can do just that.
@@LaTishaStyles you are so helpful tku
Thanks a lot for your helpful explaining, could you help me with how I can add to all what you said I need to stream my zoom or GoToMeeting class and use my iPad for presentation and make it live in Facebook, Thanks a lot
You're welcome!
Thank you, am I able to use Facebook Live to interview people at a different location?
Not at this time. For that I would recommend Restream or using Zoom broadcast to FB live.
Give a software details
Will people need to join the FB group in order to access that link to the webinar?
No, if you do this method you'll be running it from your page. Then you can share that live stream into a private group but the original live will be coming from your page and public.
@@LaTishaStyles Thanks!
Can someone please provide a link to the software she’s using
Hi You can get it at OBSProject.com obsproject.com/download
Can we do it with iphone!?
Not that I know of.
Hi, awesome video! Please can you tell me how to upload my powerpoint slides into the window? It doesn't seem to show up? Thank you!
Sure! You'll need to choose "Window Capture" and then make sure your slides are open. Then just click it from the dropdown in OBS.
If you can't see it once you do that, it might be dragged off to the side of the OBS screen.
LaTisha, thank you so much for the quick reply! It still doesn't seem to be ggiving me the powerpoint as an option, any other ideas or setting I need to check? I've tried converting the slides to Google Slides but the file is too big!@@LaTishaStyles
@@caleighvaljalo3644 No you don't need to convert it. Try downloading it as a PDF and then opening that and looking for it in the dropdown.
I had a client that had the same issue (she was on a PC) and that solved it for her. I hope that works! Sorry I can't help more
@@LaTishaStyles It worked! Thank you so much! You literally are saving my job! Last thing, will I be able to see people's comments and click through my slides simultaneously?
@@caleighvaljalo3644 Awesome! Glad it worked. Usually when I want to see comments I just "watch" the live stream from my phone while I'm presenting on desktop.
Or if you have two monitors you can do it that way.
Are you able to share the link by invite only?
I am wanting to do a Live Webinar on FB but have it closed to specific people
Facebook lives can only be public when it's from your page. But let's say you create a group just for the live webinar (and launch etc) you can do the live webinar in there only to the group members.
How about a group run by other people?
No, you have to be an admin.
Does it work on Android cell?
I don't know, but I believe you need desktop.
