    You got a good deal! I just ordered the same two-track kit for a little more (inflation) off Overstock. How long is the track with the cord guide installed?

      With the cord guide.. It's 64 inches. I never thought about Overstock. I know you will like it. I use mine with my Ridgid shop vac with a Rockler flex hose. This is the way to go as the bag fills quickly.

      @@crimsonwoodworking9609 Thanks! Now I have to figure out how to store the tracks. I'm glad to hear the shop vac works, that's basically what I have right now.

      I drilled a hole in the exit end of both of my tracks and just hang them on the wall.

    ... finally I found that Kreg is a USA.........I will now by all they have I need. I was willing to buy Mafell or Festool or even Bosch because they are NOT Chinese, but an actual product made in USD......THAT is what you should do a video on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Anyone know why it takes so long for the saw it get up to cutting speed ? That saw does not behave like a circular saw. Or table saw. The motor has a lag time that i am not used to.

    The Kreg tracksaw is great. Just be aware that it is a proprietary system that you're being locked into the Kreg system. The saw is opposite to all other tracksaw, so just be aware that any other tracksaw accessories meant for Festool pattern tracksaws won't work with this track and saw.

      I have the Kreg saw & tracks and haven’t run into that yet. I use the dogs and rail clips meant for the festool & they work fine. However as you point out there may be other things that won’t work

      That makes it as expensive as the Makita track saw in combination with the Powertec tracks. He really got a good deal.

    .... and 5 minutes in, nothing is said that cannot be read off the ad's. I thought this was a personal anecdotal opinion based on personal use, guess not.

      Thanks for your interest. I'm going into my 3rd year of using the Kreg Track saw and am still loving it. I would only wish for 2 things. A better carrying case, something plastic. And make it cordless. 90 percent of my use is breaking down plywood and a cordless model would make it more convenient. The stock blade is holding up well and still provides a splinter free cut. And best of all is its made in the USA.

    They need to make a cordless version

    Great video! Thanks! I’m ready to make this purchase. My only concern is when joining 2 tracks together. I’ve read negative reviews on this. Have you had any problems?

    • @crimsonwoodworking9609
      @crimsonwoodworking9609  3 роки тому

      Absolutely not. The tracks are perfectly straight. They are connected on the back with two bars that have set screws incorporated. What would have made it better would have been to make the set screws the same size as the Allen wrench that fits into the handle. Buy it! You won't be sorry

      I have two tracks & the joining system. I’ve had no issues either. It is a little finicky the first time I did it. Love the set up.

    Hi Crimson Woodworking, thank you for the Kreg track saw review. Did you find it easy to connect the two tracks and have them aligned straight. Many raved about the track connection system used by Bosch, able to join two tracks quickly with perfect alignment. I am leaning towards the Kreg track saw, but it would be a big deal breaker for me if it takes much fiddling to align two tracks.

    • @crimsonwoodworking9609
      @crimsonwoodworking9609  4 роки тому

      That was a concern for me too. But it's perfect. I couldn't be happier. The rubber zero clearance sticks out farther than the saw blade until the first cut, then everything is aligned. The manual takes you through the first setup an initial cut. Glad I got it.

    you could buy another 62" track and cut it down to 2 smaller tracks you just have to be careful on how you cut it

    Thanks for this review. In terms of track saw safety (vs table saw), are there any track saw specific safety guidelines or issues that we should be aware of.

    • @crimsonwoodworking9609
      @crimsonwoodworking9609  4 роки тому

      A track saw is designed to be both accurate and safe. Plunge starts in hardwood sometimes will cause a slight kickback. This Kreg has an anti-kickback feature. If your cutting on a piece of foam and you adjust your depth of cut to only go into the foam about 1/4 inch, the cut becomes super easy. I don't know why I didn't get one earlier.

    Seems like it would be awkward for left handers

    • @crimsonwoodworking9609
      @crimsonwoodworking9609  3 роки тому +1

      Not at all. But a lot of track saws are made so the blade is on the other side. It IS a right handlers world thought. 😁

    Love the video. Good review. I have the saw and tracks & think it is a great alternative to festool - especially for a weekend warrior like me.
    Also - I’m with you on the 32” track option! I contacted Kreg on this but didn’t get a response.

      It will be my last video without a cordless lapel mic. I agree with you. If your not into lip reading, I'll sum it up for you. I love this track saw
