I can get the feeling from this beautiful song , on this morning, after all we have been through this last week, praying for this Week will be better, thank So much !!😮👍🏼😢☺️
Totally agree and , having met him a few times after concerts , a humble , lovely guy.His music touches my soul. When I depart this life I want this to be played at my funeral.
Saw Rick at the ice show for myths and legends. He played the entire journey album as an encore. He used to play keyboards in a pub band where my aunt was the singer.
Yes his Dad advised him to play any music with anybody ,Take any chance , It is advice I have followed in music and gained a lot by paying music I was not really keen on ,
The first song I ever danced with that girl who years later became my wife, was Morning has broken. Until today, almost 50 years later, I can remember the emotion of hearing your incredible piano while filling that girl so close to me, for the first time.Thank you so much Mr. Wakeman
Thank you for your candid interpretation of this powerful hymn. God bless your years forever. I think Rick was sent for such beautiful stories as yours. God bless, and bless God.
Rick, I've been a fan since "Journey To The Centre Of The Earth" when I was a young teenager. I also was in that horrible basketball stadium in Atlanta when you were there with Yes, and Donavan was the opening act in the mid-1970s. I was in the nosebleed seats and would have needed the Hubble Telescope to see you as more than a tiny blur, but it was still a great show. Without your solo albums, I would have never discovered Yes. I still collect everything you release, which will drive my children mad when I'm gone, but you bring me comfort im my old age as well as in my youth. I'm extraordinarily fond of your album of Christmas music, which I play every time the season rolls around. My wife, who is from Portsmouth though I am American, particularly loves all the work you did with David Bowie. I could not pick a favorite album of yours if my life depended on it, but I will say that I was highly entertained by your performance as Thor in Ken Russel's Lisztomania movie. The music you did for that was almost eclipsed by the scene where you pissed into the fireplace, but that's neither here nor there. I mainly wanted to take this chance to thank you for all the joy and music you have brought into my life through, lo, these many decades. You, Sir, are a treasure, and I will sorely miss you if you predecease me, so DON'T YOU DARE! The world still needs you. --Dan
The iconic piano riff has a modulating up version, a modulating down version, and a staying in the same key version, but you don't realise it until you try to learn it. Absolute genius.
And it's the twiddly bits that make it so interesting and distinctive. Saw Mr Wakeman in Leeds in May 1976. He was being supported as he walked along the corridor exhausted after the gig, one man under each shoulder. Glad he managed to continue with his career ...
Greetings from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, to the best keyboard player! First time I heard Rick playing The Legends and Myths of King Arthur I was no more than 10 - 11 yo... now I am 57. I knew since the first moment that he was amazing! Long life to the King!
I had Morning has broken in my head late one night about a week ago, and it was because of the morning and the piano. When I played the record, it was much more powerful than I remembered. THANK YOU Rick
I remember hearing this song on the radio when I was in high school and saying to myself, "self", this is not your average rock player on this record. Later that year I saw Yes for the first time, and as they say, the rest is history. Apparently, I was right. Merry Christmas Rick.
So lovely. I'm a 70 year old piano player. You and cat were a great inspiration. Met rick in a pub in Brisbane Australia inthe 80s signed an Album. What a beaut down to earth guy ❤
Thank you, Rick, for bringing beauty and joy to my life, and for influencing me like no other on my musical journey playing various keyboards over the last 40+ years. It has been a pleasure to meet and speak with you on two different occasions; you are a true gentleman.
I recently was confirmed into the Catholic Church and this music was playing at the start of Mass. For me it was like a restart of life; the music means something truly special to me and always will. Rick Wakeman is a ⭐️

I also loved this song when it came out. But I didn't buy Tea For The Tillerman, so I had NO IDEA who was tickling the ivories behind Cat's tenor voice and accoustic guitar! I only found out THIS YEAR, it was out beloved Rick Wakeman!
If you had bought Tea for the Tillerman it wouldn't have helped as this song was on Teaser and the Firecat. It still wouldn't have helped as Wakeman was not credited nor ever paid the agreed fee for this.
Rick, I've been a Yes fan and a fan of yours since 1973. I had piano lessons up to grade three but life (teenage foolishness!) got in the way and I stopped. Thank you for the many years of virtuosity that I've enjoyed. You ARE A LEGEND. My first ever gig was Newcastle City Hall in 1976 for King Arthur. Brilliant!
Truly as lovely and memorable a piece of music could ever be. From the compostion to the execution. Thank you for sharing your genious with us for all these years.
I first came across your name on the sleeve notes on Hunky Dory, then on Sabbath Bloody Sabbath and then started to find out about your music and I've been a fan ever since. Thank you for enriching my life with your music, and making me laugh with your humour. God bless you Rick
It's the clear and simple melody of this song that can grow into a piano piece so recognizable in the hands of an accomplished pianist and true musician like Rick. The classic pianovibe made this song to become a hit for Cat Stevens, a perfect fit with his voice that gave this song the mass apeal that it garnered.
Thank you Rick, you are my best piano teacher, I follow you from the time of YES and then from the first independent album "The Six Wives of Henry VIII" until today. You are such a refined piano player and respectful person.
Rick Wakeman wasn't credited or paid for his part of Morning Has Broken on Cat Stevens's Teaser and the Firecat album for some reason. Stevens made good on it many years later. Anyway, that's why almost no one knew it was Rick.
Rick I do not mean to bug you, but just have to ask Please, Please and I will add one more Please and that makes 3! I do not know what you yourself are equipped. But if you could sit down and play this into a Fairlight or something and print out the piano notation for this. I sure would love to take a closer look at it. A good transcript is always so helpful. Thank You!

Beautiful Music! Thank you Mr. Wakeman for covering this iconic celebratory hymn!❤
What a fabulous player he is.
