  • Well, Hello there! Welcome to the Whimsikettle Studios! My name is Linda Arnold, I am the owner & artist here at WhimsiKettle. I am a mostly self taught potter who is on a quest to find, or make the perfect tea pot to help satisfy my ever growing hot tea addiction. Thanks for joining me as we have a cuppa.
    In today's episode, Spencer, his BFF, Alexander, Julio and I try a tea from Tetley Tea called British Blend. Yes, those are Christmas decorations on the back window - this episode was recorded back in November (2019). I have quite the back-log of videos to edit and upload. Anyway, grab your own cuppa and join the 4 of us as we talk over each other, stumble over words, and laugh at each other.

    This video is not sponsored; I enjoy hot tea and feel the need to subject anyone who will listen to my views on different teas. So far, I've managed to Mom-handle Spencer into joining me on this journey I am on. He in-turn has roped his BFF into going on this journey with us. It's been A LOT of fun so far. I hope you are enjoying this series as well.
    Thanks for stopping by and having a cuppa with us. We all appreciate you time!

    I love this tea. I take 3 packs for a day of fishing. I add some sugar and milk.

    This is adorable, i love seeing just real people and families chatting. Seems harder to find videos like this that aren't overproduced.

      Thanks! Theses were the early days of the show when we didn't know what we were doing, both in front and behind the camera. I miss my boys from other mothersm but they have to grow up and move on at some point, right?

    My favorite! I also enjoy Yorkshire, I find both of these teas superior in taste to PG tips.

      I'm not going to disagree with you. I love Yorkshire Gold, but end up drinking the Yorkshire Red more often.

      @@WhimsiKettle I have never had the red! I heard there’s more flavor with it than gold, I’m going to have to try it soon.

    The Tetley Irish blend tea in the Green Box is very good tea

      I’ve never seen an Irish blend from them. I will absolutely look out for that!
      Thanks for watching!

    You must pour on boiling water, not the tepid stuff from a insulated container.... I don't know anyone who adds cream in their tea... Anyway a great review thanks

      Thanks so much for watching and for the tips. In later episodes we canned the container and got a kettle to make it correctly. We also started to have our tea "naked" so we could enjoy the full taste of the brew.

      One of my favourite after over indulging is a large mug with one English Breakfast Tea and one Earl Grey tea bag. You get the kick and the refreshing Earl Grey flavour. 😂

      That’s a really good idea that I’ll have to try next time it happens. A nice cuppa earl grey can make a difference!

    4:32 He is joking but it seems to go over your heads because no one responds to his joke. I personally find it funny that he's asking about how he likes his women since the kid used the word nude- which is an OK word to use given his analogy. They seem like smart kids.

      They are smart boys who, once they grow up some, will do amazing things in their lives and I live them all dearly. Thanks for watching!

    Linda, how did you get THREE young men to sit with you and drink damn TEA!? Unbelievable! They seem to be nice loving family men. Ps. Cream is never put in tea. Never. Milk is the real Brit tradition. Also brew a bit longer- try black tea ☕️ up to 5 min@ m. Illinois 🐸

    • @WhimsiKettle
      @WhimsiKettle  Рік тому

      Oh, I have some serious dirt on each of these boys.... No, I'm joking (kinda), but each of them are amazing young men who make me so very proud to be a part of their lives (even if only for a few years).
      I realize that milk is used, but everyone in my house is lactose intolerant except me, but I don't drink enough of it due to Kidney Stones. I can get a pint of 1/2 and 1/2 and it will last 3-4 x longer than milk will, so I fight the battle I know I'll win. It's not proper, but it works for me.
      Thanks for the suggestion, I'm beginning to experiment with longer brew times to see if the teas I usually have in the morning are better or worse for it.
      Thanks so much for watching and I really do appreciate the feedback. I hope you have an amazing long weekend coming up

    I like twinnings a lot better, but for the price and ratio wise of the amount of tea bags I get, not bad.

    • @WhimsiKettle
      @WhimsiKettle  Рік тому +1

      True about the price. If I had a choice, I would choose just about anything before Twinnings. I've just not been real impressed with their teas.

      I thought it was just me.We have a tea plant here in America ...South Carolina that makes teas called Bigelow.The teas taste better than twinings and is cheaper.They make great Darjeeling .My favorite BRITISH tea company is Taylors of Harrogate but I am proud of our Bigelow

    How does this rank up against PG tips?

    • @WhimsiKettle
      @WhimsiKettle  3 роки тому +1

      Actually, they are quite similar. They are both a good “go to” tea for me. The blend is a nice Ceylon tea. I like my teas strong , so I do double bag either of these teas if making a cup (or a pot). Personally, I prefer British blend to PG Tips, it that’s for Nostalgia more than taste. If I’m in a pinch, and need a tea and PG Tips is the only one there, I get it. Same with British Blend.

    How does this compare to tetleys original tea

    • @WhimsiKettle
      @WhimsiKettle  3 роки тому

      Well, this is embarrassing to admit, but I can't say that I've ever had the original Tetley tea. I've only ever bought the British Blend.
      I'll pick up a box next time I head to the market and I'll have to let you know on that one. So Sorry.
