One word....AMAZING! You have such incredible creativity! Just this one idea can be used tho make a tree for every season! Thank you for your inspiration! 😃😍
Love, love, LOVE this idea. Thank you for posting. I’ve been pricing faux greens and cannot believe how much even the cheapest -looking of them are now. I live in Europe and we do not have craft shops or shops that give such discounts. Even IKEA is crazy expensive. I think I’ll start by looking in the forest for the ‘skeleton ‘ and then hope I can find some nice looking olive branch pieces like yours. Amazing how real your tree looks.👏👏👏👏👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼🥰🥰🥰🥰
Very nice, thank you for sharing! A few years back I was going out and gathering branches, using my glue gun to put it all together with select branches. Then I would spray paint the tree black, or you could do any other color but I chose black. Then I would either use a little plaster of paris in a nice planter put some dirt in the pot, or not, glue on flowers and some leaves. The dirt could be used for maybe adding a little live vine or whatever and add some moss (I would go out moss hunting and for other supplies). Sometimes I would buy the clear glue And drip a drop off one the branches which would make it look like an ice cycle or possibly a dew drop. And my signature would would be a lady bug or butterfly on the tree, which you can get at the dollar store. I also had a wood burner to burn my name in. All for under 40 bucks. I couldn't keep not even one tree as someone always wanted to buy them, great for gifts too. I actually made one with a spider on it and the girl I worked with said he helped cure her phobia of spiders lol You have inspired me thank you so much!❤
Beautiful, Noelle! A very informative video from start to finish. I'm looking to make one myself. Thanks for the inspiration! BTW, your son is adorable!
Thank you! I would definitely prefer to have a real olive tree but my house doesn’t get enough natural light for one so this is the next best thing lol
I actually did get a real one not too long ago and am trying to keep it from dying but its dropping all its leaves so if you've got any tips that would be great!
@@NoelleTateHome soil that doesn't stay moist. they do like things a little dry. other than that they are pretty hearty plants. show it love and remember it is a tree. and trees take patience to grow to how you want them to.
I only water it when it has gotten dry and it’s when I water it that the leaves fall off so idk why it’s upset, I don’t want to over water it but maybe I should try to more often and just see what happens 🤷🏻♀️
Noelle, the up close shots of the drilling and gluing were helpful. Need to get hard core quality drill now. LOL. Tip: In your next videos- research historic background of pieces. The olive branch you used in ancient Greek mythology symbolized peace and friendship so that “pretty piece” dupe of Restoration Hardware has significance. GOOGLE background so it has deep(er) meaning. It’s cool to reflect on others’ histories, ethnicities, and art backgrounds of our found inexpensive Goodwill finds or Amazon purchases that inspire us. Also your son is adorable and your hair is crazy beautiful -Thank you for the time and energy you shared to bring this to us. Well wishes from Chicago
Glad you found it helpful and that’s so cool about the olive branches! And I think he’s pretty cute too lol and thanks for the complement too! Sometimes it gets a little crazy from postpartum hair loss growing back 🤪
TIP....Study photos of living trees to help create a more life-like imitation. The various species differ in texture and color of bark, growth patterns, angle of branches, etc. For example, an olive tree will not bear fruit on its vertical branches, but only on branches that grow at an angle. An orchard grower prunes an olive tree into the shape of a martini glass for optimal fruit production.
I don’t believe so, it’s been doing great so far? I feel like it would take a really long time to deteriorate, especially since it’s not exposed to any elements. I mean we build houses out of wood so it can’t fall apart that quickly right? Lol
Can u pls provide your cost breakdown that shows how this only cost u $35? 5 olive branches alone add up to $35 at $6.99 ec. I'd really like to make thus just not sure I have enough if it is over $35. Ty!
I mostly got the smaller ones but had to get two of the larger ones because they ran out of the smaller ones and I just considered the larger ones 2 branches when adding up how many I used. So if you are going to get the larger $13.99 ones you won't need to buy as many unless you are making a larger or more full tree than mine. But you can always buy more and then return the ones you don't use, that's what I did! I hope that was helpful, let me know if you have any more questions!
The wood will not decay. Real leaf growth would decay, but not the branches especially since it is not out in the weather or sitting on wet ground. No worries!
I’m not really sure, but I was thinking that it would be just like how we cut down trees and use the wood to build things 🤷🏻♀️ I may be totally wrong but it’s doing good so far! I’ll keep y’all updated!
This looks like the one that Valerie Aguilar did like 3 weeks ago! She did the same thing! The only difference is that you chose olive branches! Looks really pretty too!

love the idea though for those that may not want to spend the time. or may not have the time to grow such and amazing tree

Haha girl I was nervous too! 🤣 I’m glad you liked it!
Girl!! I got the one from nearly twal and it looks so cheap this one looks 20 times more real !! Great job i will make them now.
Thank you! I know it’s so crazy how much they charge for stuff that looks so cheap. So I love that this is an option to get a more real look for less!
How many branches did you end up using?
I used 10 total! But you could use more of less dependent on how tall and full you want the tree to be
😲😲buena idea 😍

Definitely stealing this! But WHY the small pot for such a large tree?
That’s just what I had on hand when I did the video 😅 it’s since been switched to a large aged terra-cotta pot!
Guess ima make a tree, soon as I make me a paper mache bowl..
Amazing!!! New subscriber!!!

Doing it !!
Yay! I love mine!
Wouldn’t the stick dry out over time?
I don’t believe so, it’s been doing great so far? I feel like it would take a really long time to deteriorate, especially since it’s not exposed to any elements. I mean we build houses out of wood so it can’t fall apart that quickly right? Lol

How many olive bushes from hobby lobby did it take? i want to do this!
I got 10 total! The $6 ones when they are full price
Noelle Tate oh okay! The ones I was looking at are 13.99 full price, so you got the smaller ones?
I mostly got the smaller ones but had to get two of the larger ones because they ran out of the smaller ones and I just considered the larger ones 2 branches when adding up how many I used. Won’t the wood decay, rather than dry, inside the house?
I'm not really sure, I'll keep you guys updated. But if it does decay I feel like it would take a really long time to do so.
Noelle Tate I hope it does not, but please keep us updated.
The wood will not decay. Real leaf growth would decay, but not the branches especially since it is not out in the weather or sitting on wet ground. No worries!
Did you use any tree branch or is it an actual olive tree branch
The base tree branch was just a branch from a tree in my yard and then I bought the faux olive stems
lightning struck a tree near my house and theres a big beautiful branch like this just *sitting there* and every time i drive in like could i....?
So.. how does the tree lasts? Wouldn’t the branch died and dried up? I’m guessing this is a temporary tree? I just don’t see it lasting very long
I’m not really sure, but I was thinking that it would be just like how we cut down trees and use the wood to build things 🤷🏻♀️ I may be totally wrong but it’s doing good so far! I’ll keep y’all updated!
The wood will be fine.

Oh thank you! It’s crazy the prices of these things!
