This is very good info! Just wondering if you guys will be posting any trapping videos soon? This is my first year trapping hard on my property mostly for turkey nest predators. Thanks and God Bless
Always enjoy your consults, best opportunity to view the whole picture. Can you give us a virtual tour of your property like this from what you started with to present day. We use Google earth to show the visual change year to year or as often as they take photos.
So, how do I get ahold of you to have you look at my hunting property? Its only 5 acres, so it shouldn't be hard to look at. And with the Covid situation, im sure it could be handled virtually.
We do assist folks with properties that size. This cost less than developing plans for larger properties. If you are interested, please email us the location, etc., of your property to info@GrowingDeer.com.
Ali - A closed-canopy forest captures the sun's energy (photosynthesis activity) well out of reach of deer. To produce deer food and cover, the sun's energy needs to be used from ground level to about 3' high. This is why prairie's are so productive for ungulates!
This is the greatest video on UA-cam to me. I'm getting ready to buy a ranch in the coming years, and this excited me to no end the work i'll get to put into the new land XD
Wow I would love to have you on our property for a few days. We have 500 acres of mixed pasture land, and timber/woods that we are no longer going to run cattle on.
We'll be hosting a Field Event at our place during June and offer on-site consulting to develop habitat and hunting improvement plans. For more information, you can write us at info@GrowingDeer.com
Tim - send us the location, including how we can find the borders and we'll send you a bid to develop a site-specific plan for your property based on your goals. Send to info@GrowingDeer.com
That sure does seem like a lot of bang for your buck with that plan! It kind of makes me change my mind as I look at future land and the potential they could have. I really haven't considered farms that are mostly pasture like this. I have a small property now but development all around is making me consider selling and finding another property. I wasn't looking at farms like this, but I will be now! Thanks for sharing more knowledge with us!
Each property and neighborhood are unique. Many folks seem to forget that the neighborhood is a huge factor due to deer home range size. We all share deer!
I love these videos. We bought 320 acres of old strip job land that is growing back up. I currently have been using a drone to get the layout and decide where we want to plant more trees and foodplots.
Good video as always. Not sure if OnX allows a landowner to view your drawings without logging in your account but you can share maps and other information using The Hunter Sight which allows for both parties to log on from each account to share information(records) and one map. Loved the information, for the bedding area in the north pasture land, would you plant anything like sorghum or something taller or is native grasses and switchgrass tall enough for security?
Thanks for the info! Native grasses is tall enough for deer. I use a blend of sorghums from GreenCoverSeed.com to create taller screens to block views from roads, neighbors on utility easements, etc.
I love bow hunting I'm from northern ky
I love bow hunting I’m from Lexington
I'm from walton about 30 minutes from Cincinnati and north of cinthina 55 minutes

Grant, ever work with Greg Judy in central MO? Uses a lot of interesting approaches similar to the Buffalo system.
Ryan - I haven't met Greg, but know of his work. He's a good cattle farmer!
@@GrowingDeerTV Might be a cool collaboration GDTV episode. He's all about building soil like yourself.

A friend and I are looking to do the same to a 170 aces cattle farm. How can we get a consultation like this?

great video. Would you cut down cedars or hack n squirt? Thanks for your help
We fell cedars below the bottom limb.
Are you using OnX with both parties logged on to the same account so the landowner can see while you're drawing?
Sometimes Zoom, etc.
What was Jason’s name? I’d like to ask him how it turned out and what it looks like now
Danny - We'll try to do a follow up.
Idk if thats what i would do need more ground info. Diversity is king!
Wooden - I agree - diversity is nice!

I hope your project goes well!
Thanks ! I'm going to try to video it step by step on my channel
The farm is in mo so if you could come out and help us improve the habitat it would be a dream come true
Jerry - Congratulations! If you'd like us to bid on assisting you, send us more information on the location, etc., at info@GrowingDeer.com!
GrowingDeer.tv ya I will do that thx
Could I just give you info through UA-cam becouse I don’t know how to send through your web
Where is the best place to get satellite print outs? Google Maps or somewhere else?
Justin - Most print shops can print a PDF file and some mapping softwares offer a PDF output.
What’s the cost for you to give recommendations?
Josh - We need to know the location, acreage, etc. Feel free to email us more information at info@GrowingDeer.com

Wild Man - Soon, very soon!
