  • This video provides a tutorial on how to add sound effects, music and various visual aids to your silent 8mm movies. Most 8mm movies were silent and quite boring, including my own. You will see before and after examples, along with how you can do similar things in a simple step-by-step manor. I’ll even show you where to get some free sound effects, music and visual aids. Your movies don’t have to be boring, or should I say as boring. With just a little effort, you can transform your 8mm movies into an enjoyable fun experience.
Below are various links to my How-To series, along with other helpful tools and some of my favorite tutorial providers.

If you don’t have an editing program, I suggest you download the free version of DaVinci Resolve, yes free. It does not expire and it’s fully functional. There is a paid version as well. The only difference between the free version and the Studio (paid) version is some of the plugins and tools are not included. In most cases, the free version should suffice. I placed a link to Black Magic Design (DaVinci Resolve) below. Just FYI, I have the Studio version, well worth the price. All upgrades for both versions are always free.

I really enjoy your videos and encourage you to make more. I'm just learning how to use DaVinci Resolve to restore a lot of Super8 film that I've scanned with my Wolverine film scanner and I found your videos very helpful!
