- This is my 2023 remix of the main menu song, from Shenmue/Shenmue II, on the Sega Dreamcast/Xbox/PS4/Xbox One.
I've been meaning to re-work this remix for a long time, and I have finally got round to it, so expect this edit to sound much more full compared to my 2016 version.

While Shenmue is a game that I still ahve to really get prepated to just to try and play from start to end, it is pretty nice to hear this for a new year. Great job :)
Thank you! I know what you mean, you can easily dissappear In the world of Shenmue. You can even get a bad ending if you take too long to reach the end.

It reminds me a lot of the Virtua Fighter 4 menu on ps2 (I never played Shenmue so VF4 was the first thing it came in my mind)
Funny you say that, I think it's the same Virtua Fighter composer, Takenobi Mitsuyoshi. I am shocked someone even mentioned the VF4 main menu theme, such a great song, I have always wanted to remix it. You are right, it is very similar to the Shenmue main menu theme, it's got the same sort of vibe.
@@Deliverance84 VF4 was my first fighting game. Basically I got a PS2 when I was 10ish years old and it came with ten games (this is in 2012-13 btw) and 2 memory cards, I will never forget any song from it (Aoi's song is my favorite from character themes), I played it so much getting beaten up 20 times by Akira on arcade mode. The PS2 also came with the first Hajime no Ippo game which made me like VF4 even more XD
I'd recommend listening to more Sega OSTs, like Virtual-On is the most Mecha OST I've heard.
