In other words they are fighting exactly as they should. I worked 18 years in the Finnish Defence Forces and our modern doctrine is pretty much the same Ukraine is using right now. Perfect against bigger and strictly led enemy. Small very mobile units that can outmaneuver the enemy and make them reactively change their plan. Something the Russian army just cannot do effectively. It is interesting that the United States military has many of the exact same problems, just not as horribly bad because good leadership and comms.
And using anti armor weapons to hit supply vehicles is the way to go. Without fuel, food and water, tanks can't operate.
Good leadership on the ground, not necessarily at the top for the US. The top brass tends to put American soldiers in some pretty preposterous situation like fighting through the mountains of Afghanistan or the jungles of Vietnam. But I do agree with your point at large.

You obviously know nothing about 20th Century history . During WW2 the Russians and their Soviet Allies - lost 23 MILLION CITIZENS fighting the NAZIs .
They fought them alone . No one was helping them . The USA only entered WW2 in the WEST after the outcome of the two greatest battles at STALINGRAD and KURSK had already been decided . They arrived in Italy in SEPT 1943.
Essentially WW2 was over at that stage. They only entered the conflict at that stage to stop the Russians from seizing the whole of Europe.
Since WW2 the USA military have been engaged in FIVE major conflicts and have won NONE of them . Just think back a few months to the FIASCO in AFGHANISTAN .

I am from Ukraine and I can tell you .No this is not only guerilla war. Ukraine have something like 35 brigades including mechanized, motorized, artillery, airborne, tank, marine, national guard brigades. Yes local resistance plays important role in damaging supply lines and eliminating enemy forces, but Ukraine has bulk of its brigades operational and combat ready. Also anti air systems are mostly operational. And as far as I see artillery + drones plays key role. And Ukraine has many hundreds of different artillery . So this is conventional war + heavy guerilla war on captured territories.
It's a great combination of both. It appears to have completely frustrated the advance.

Great analysis, except even Russian soldiers that surrendered or where captured repeatedly say that one of their biggest problems has been equipment equipment maintenance and related problems, such as old communications having to be used that have no encryption capabilities, tires that are falling apart, food rations that have turned, and on and on. Observations in the field seem to confirm all of this. First issue is definitely strategy, but even with that, some of their ability to communicate effectively is due to interception and resulting interdiction. That is what happens when you have a corrupt regime where much of the billions in military funding is siphoned-off by generals, oligarchs and Putin himself.

Russia has been loosing many commanders. I think Ukraine tactical skill is also good. It was from WW2.
This is not just a war for Ukraine but this is the battle for freedom. If we let Russia does whatever they want, we’ll all regret.
They have lost 3 generals and 2 commanders, they have been replaced within minutes so it doesn’t change anything.

@@ahsokatano5798 disagree. It can affect morale greatly. You don't just replace commanders and expect the grunt soldiers not to question something. Even if they do not speak up, they will still question silently. That, combined with the Russian system of mandatory 1 year service, is flawed. You can't force people to serve in the military without it affecting morale and performance.

Humans are disgusting, as a Combat Medic who served in war, I remember being disgusted at my species after seeing what we do to each other, mutilating other humans and creatures since it all began. I hope this is the last time I have to come to Earth...I think I learned all I needed to learn here, and conducted myself where I can be proud and my relatives who are passed on will be proud of how I treated others on this blue ball floating in space, I can die with my head held high, with no fear from my maker. I suggest others start living their lives with the understanding that you will be held responsible for your actions while you were visiting this planet. Treat others kindly, help the sick and poor, NEVER EVER intentionally hurt others, NEVER take advantage of others, and ALWAYS apologize and mean it, when you do mess up, and learn from it. @Алина Семенова that's the result of Russia invading on Ukraine under the guise of "local resistance" after they guaranteed they would not touch Ukrainian territory in exchange for giving up our nukes. If Russia wasn't rocking the boat - there would be no deaths, no war. Civilians dying while fighting a weaponised gang is, sadly, unavoidable. :(
At the same time I realise very few people left in the "separatist" area would actually want to return under Ukrainian control after all this. Who wanted - already crossed the "border" and returned to Ukraine. The ones left there are those that can no longer coexist with anything Ukrainian, just like I can no longer coexist with anything Russian, having spent past 2 weeks in a bomb shelter and having lost my flat. And I'm the lucky one, haven't lost anyone in my family yet.
Hope our government can realise this... Right now they seem oblivious to this fact... De-jure they're right, it's Ukrainian territory. But de-facto even if it is returned under Ukrainian control - it'll just be ongoing guerilla war...
