HOA suing Belleville homeowners over solar panels despite law meant to protect

- A home in Belleville is an eyesore, according to a lawsuit filed by the neighborhood homeowner’s association. It’s over the placement of solar panels.
There's nothing wrong with them. Another HOA that is overstepped itself into an illegal area that they can be sued for
You can barely see them. HOA is just a group noun for karens!
When a person buys a home, I think they should do what they want to do with it!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Yeah they bought their home and paying their property taxes. Maybe someone should tell their HOA off " Okay than you can pay my taxes and mortgage payment's and reimburse every dollar i put into this house and property''
If I lived in that HOA....oh, who am I kidding, I would NEVER live in that HOA!!!
This adds to the value of all the homes. Panels are located in a specific location in order to work.
“There’s nothing worse than greedy landlord”
HOA: _Allow me to introduce myself_
Has anyone ever said "wow what beautiful roofing shingles!" I didn't think so. Its a roof with the utility purpose to keep water out of your house. Solar panels aren't going to make the roof look worse. You can't fix stupid.
That’s so ridiculous. If I was a perspective buyer and I saw the houses in the area have solar panels I would think that’s really cool
It's ridiculous that H.O.A. can tell a person what they can and can not do with thier own home
I’m not defending all actions of predatory and harassing HOAs, but some accountability needs to go on the homeowners. HOAs are not required for all homes in this country and are actually quite rare in my area. If you buy a house with one, you are literally agreeing to being told what you can and cannot do with your home and can’t cry foul after the fact. Not gonna lie - there’s been times when I look around at some poorly kept and junked up lawns in my neighborhood and think “man, I wish the neighborhood could make them clean that crap up” or maybe have prevented my neighbor from painting his house bright coral pink (or at least done it well without all the stray spray marks) but then I start to wonder at the possible fines I could have wracked up if I was a few days late mowing my lawn or if they thought my barn themed mailbox was too gaudy and made me pull it down and am like “heck no - not worth it.”
@@dostagirl9551 There are more than 5000 new HOA communities built every year, with $5.5 trillion worth of real estate under HOA management, with an annual revenue of $88 billion. Over 40 million households (53% of owner-occupied homes) are currently under HOAs, and over 82% of all new homes sold in 2021 were governed by HOA's. HOA's aren't rare ANYWHERE in America,.
I tell the HOA off by saying '' How would you like to reimburse for every dollar I put into this house and property''.
What happened in this case?
"Eye Sore" I think solar panels look good actually. As long as they are placed properly. Plus it actually raises property value.
Don’t buy in a HOA, this is what you get so don’t complain
More so JUST ASK before doing something, especially in a neighborhood where there aren't many solar panels
@@somedude0 you shouldn't have to ask to do ANYTHING to a house that belongs to YOU, that's the whole point
Very well said!!!
The HOA should be fined heavily for this.
Bros before HOA's 🤜🤛
Why are HOAs even legal?
The home owner should be able to put whatever they want on their house and property. After all they bought and paid for their home and are paying their property taxes why should these HOA's or COA's tell them they can have on there property.
Good HOA's will comply with the law, respect your rights, and leave you alone. Predatory ones won't. If you are in a predatory HOA, that law is just a piece of paper. Unless there are ways to hold predatory HOA's accountable, like say jail time, that law isn't going to do you any good. Predators ignore the law every single day. If a predatory HOA is able to get away with it, they will ignore the law every single time. It's not any different than a bank robber. A bank robber is not going to say, "Oh! I'm not going to rob this bank! That's illegal! I'll go to jail!" Na! He is going to rob the bank anyway. Same goes to predatory HOA's. Bottom line is...the entities that you can prosecute, you will never have to. The entities that you cannot prosecute, you will have to.
During the lawsuit, I would ask the board as witness and demand how many people voted for this lawsuit. To prove that they are acting legally with this lawsuit.
They didn't ask the HOA for "Permission" to add the solar panels. HOA's are on a power trip and THEY demand the say-so to approve or deny any property modification. And if you don't ask before doing it, they are gonna DISALLOW anything and everything.
New mailboxes, trash cans, fences, wheelchair ramps, flag poles, plants and trees, lawn or driveway changes, paint colors, holiday decorations, signs, work vehicles, sheds, play sets, porches and decks, solar panels, building additions, new doors or windows, RV parking, EV Charging units, satellite TV dishes, HAM radio antennas, swimming pools, kiddie pools, dog houses, rocks and hardscaping, unmowed grass, too many cars, ugly pick-up trucks, chickens, beehives, veggie gardens, clothes lines, garage sales, outdoor BBQ equipment, home-based businesses, car maintenance in your own driveway, snow non-removal, home security cameras, outdoor lighting, basketball hoops, kids playing in the street, "aggressive" dog breeds, brown grass during drought, gun ownership, anything MAGA or Trump, anything patriotic, etc, etc.
If you did not ask permission, any of this stuff will be Dis-allowed, Denied, and subject to fines and legal fees. HOA's SUCK.
Why not just get solar roofing? Ain’t like they will know it😂😂
Spead fortune buying a home to have a hoa tell u what u can and cant do on top of being told by gov things u can and cant do... pay huge taxes and dues crazy
Solar Panels, god forbid you can see Solar Panels 😂😂😂😂😂
Why on earth would anyone want to live in a place with a HOA? Buying a house you want to be able to do what you want. HOA'S seem to fine people for everything.
People like nice communities. Unfortunately most are HOAs. HOA won't win this law suit
Homeowner should go after the HOA for attorney fees and emotional damage.
They just jealous of the panels.
Property code laws
I had a twunt neighbor call the township bitching because my solar panels GLARED into their home. The township told them to close their blinds and curtains.
I hope the home owners win
The HOA should take a vote and go with the majority.
The HOA can stick it...never mind.
Dont buy a home with HOA rules...
lol thats not even how solar panels work
😮😢
Who is running this HOA? Bob Romanik? lol
I couldve went the rest of my life not knowing who Romanik was 😫 Thanks a lot 😒😂
The American dream of home ownership is just a disillusion.
Ironic if most of those in HOA committee voted for Biden!
HOA = 😂
What's the problem ? Take them off. YOU signed a deed with a HOA and its rules when you bought the house. Now you want to change the rules because you want to be clean and green.I was in the Navy and want to fly a twenty foot flag in the front yard.Got the RV bug and want to park my forty foot trailer in the driveway.Just got back from Puerto Rico and want to paint my house purple and green [freedom of expression].NOPE, not with a HOA. All these people know the rules when they close on a house. Now they have some idea that doesn't fit the rules they agreed to, and come up with stupid excuses to fit their narrative.Just move.
You would move because you have no balls.
If someone isn’t paying my bills on that house I’ll be damned if anyone tells me what I can and can’t do
Unfortunately, this is not how law in USA work. @@glizzyap4912
HOA should know by now that people that buy houses, ARE THEIRS, AND THEY CAN DO WHAT EVER THEY WANT. Their job should only be to make sure the neighborhood are clean, and roads are not damaged, yards should be clean as well, and make sure neighborhoods are safe from any criminals
People should know BY NOW that if they buy in an HOA, they CAN'T do "whatever they want".
Hoa are so low
