- It's feeding day for my California Kingsnake. As California Kingsnakes are, Rex has a killer food response and is a really good eater. Sometimes he attacks his prey hard and other times he just eats with better manners. Either way it's always fascinating to watch. It always amazes me how snakes do it. On this particular day it was a very peaceful event.

Is this the same snake from two years ago? He seems small! Crazy how much they can vary in size. My Newport cali king is almost five feet long and pretty beefy, while my wifes cali king is barely 3 feet and small like yours. I'm curious about your feeding schedule and temps. I don't use a basking spot, my girl is six this year.
@@thr0w407 It is the same snake. I've seen the same thing with California kings, some are really big and some small. I keep him with a basking around 90 degrees and a cool end around 75. I definitely don't power feed him but feed him a small mouse or fuzzy once a week.
