Wait wait…HD 18733b is a hot Jupiter. It is a gas giant with no solid surface. Therefore there is no landscape for the glass rain to sculpt or create dunes… it’s tidally locked and the extreme winds are due to the vast temperature difference between the day and night sides, but it doesn’t have any form of a surface. And water vapor was possibly detected in its upper atmosphere.
High and low pressure means that if it rains glass in one area then in Another area it does the opposite. Otherwise one day there would be nothing to rain with. This is the kind of common sense stuff. Sunny day molten glass days

Something doesn't make sense here. If it is a hot Jupiter class, there would not particularily BE a surface. I just fact checked this and indeed it would not have a surface to "Erode" as this doc says.
