      I don't think he should have died just then. He was a perfect candidate for impregnating. He couldn't even put up much of a fight. He should have ended up on a wall with a face hugger.
      It could have been a cool scene if Burke and Newt were stuck on a wall near each other. A face hugger could have hatched and attached to Burke just before Ripley finds them. So Burke got what he deserved and saved Newt by accident.

      Also, the extended version of the first movie has Ripley finding some of her crew cocooned to the wall (though without a queen that doesn't make much sense). The scene's not in the regular version so Ripley finding the cocooning familiar in the 2nd movie is a bit of a plot hole.

    • @LegendaryCatalyst
      @LegendaryCatalyst 3 роки тому +15

      @@zarquondam I don't think it doesn't make sense in the first film. Xenomorphs live in a hive like colonizing insects. If you took a single drone ant away from it's hive, it would probably still perform functions related to the hive on pure instinct. Now them cutting the scene in the theatrical Alien and having a scene in Aliens where the cocooning is familiar is unexplained, and somewhat of a plot hole but not that big of one to me.

      Some people say the sentry gun scenes are pointless, but I think they add more tension, and give more context as to why the aliens were crawling through the ceiling, they had to find a different way in as they had retreated after not being able to pass the sentries, and they didn’t know the guns were down to 10 rounds (there’s a little ‘Easter egg’ in the game Colonial Marines where you find the sentries in the corridor and the ammo counter reads 10).
