We are getting H5 AND L3 together on all indoor units AFTER replacing main control board outside to solve E6 code that first appeared on ALL indoor units. We are now being told the fan motor is bad. None of this information seems to show a faulty fan motor causing an H5 error code. Yes, for L3 but, no for h5. Am I wrong here? Unit is still under gree warranty. Gree refuses to talk to homeowner ie OWNER OF THEIR PRODUCT. They tell me to talk to original installer. Original installer is only person who seems to be able to get the parts needed under warranty. But, seems like installer enjoys getting paid to just replace parts without finding out real problem. 7.5 hours so far and I still have an over $5000 useless brick that can’t work and is supposedly still under parts and compressor warranty. Original install company is happy to keep charging me labor and keep replacing random parts while also racking up time on the phone with gree tech…I am not. Highly upset and disappointed. Really unsure who is the actual problem here, Gree or the A/C service company.

I'm a Fujitsu dealer. A customer asked if I'd consider saving him money by installing a Gree two zone unit. With near 40 years of HVAC experience most of which is in technical service, i tried to dissuade them. A week after the installation we're receiving an intermittent H5 error. The unit runs perfectly, followed by the compressor making a thumping noise followed by one zone blower showing an H5 while the other blower continues to cool.
If both zones are set to 66 degrees, the system runs perfectly while not generating a H5 error.
Tomorrow I'm going to preform the measurements as prescribed above. If I find nothing the unit is getting replaced for while the old unit will be returned to the supplier. We spend about $200k a year with the supplier I'm sure they'll accommodate our request.
Unlike the other contractors mentioned in the comments. I have no wish to punish the customer, it is a lesson learned by both parties. He'll never try to save money on something as important and complicated as a mini split, and I will never install a Gree (Chinese knock off) of a quality product like Fujitsu. For some background we have installed at least one hundred Fujitsu systems, maybe more, most are multi zones one was a geothermal 16 ton 30 head (blower) system. To date not a single problem with any of the units other than an occasional refrigerant leak at a flare joint.
Next time when a customer wants a knock off unit, I'll let the other guy install it and then I won't be so bothered charging $5000 to repair it after advising to scrap it first.
