    I've been bartending for years and I guess know the fundamentals and for sure the serving side way better, watching someone new try makes me happy to see a professional struggle, even in your first 2 minutes you're way better than I am, but watching you learn in real time puts your tutorial above the others

    I used to drink Shirley Temples when we were at the bar like places as a kid. I was on a little league baseball team, and the coach took us all to a nice restaurant in town where I proceeded to get sick from drinking too many Shirley Temples, because they're ridiculously sweet. FYI, A Shirley Temple is a non-alcoholic mixed drink traditionally made with ginger ale and a splash of grenadine, garnished with a maraschino cherry.

    i love watching your videos. the thing is a strainer so you don't get ice in the drink. The thing on top of the bottle is a to measure a 1 oz shot then it stops

    • @zeabeth
      @zeabeth 4 роки тому +2

      The majority of pourers are not measured to auto stop because not all cocktails have exactly one ounce in them.
      All pourers in a bar will have the same pour speed tho so you know like 2oz will be a four count and you can math based off that

    Your face and demeanor at 24:40.
    "Excuse you, Mr. Bottle. We have not gotten to know each other well enough for that. "
    You've got the right idea. It's simple tricks that look fancy in order to draw the eye and entertain.
    As someone else said, you probably won't be able to bust out big tricks every night.
    You might be able to more commonly incorporate some quick and simple manipulations with beer glasses and finger manipulations with the jigger(the small, two sided metal cup) to add a dash of flair without slowing you down.
    Honestly, beyond the general necessity of becoming competent, quick, and skilled at making the drinks, your delightful personality will get you a lot more tips on a regular basis than flair will.
    Good luck with your new career path!
    I hope we get to see some footage of you in action once you've found a spot that you enjoy working at and have established yourself there.

    Its extremely difficult to get a job bartending unless you know someone. My suggestion to you, because of your juggling skill, is Wing Chun
    martial arts teacher. You already have the ability and a way to demonstrate skill through juggling.It is 80% Hand coordination and sensitivity think of it as juggling meets flowersticks on mostly a horizontal plane and you will excell.It is also a kung fu art
    which originated with a woman.
    There are online classes you can take which are not expensive through Pragmatic martial arts,
    Enter shaolin -Ngo Dac Na,
    Udemy with Master Wongs videos
    ect.There is also a lot on UA-cam .Also Wing Chun Trainer from the cellphone Play store is really good. You can use the guy your with as a training
    partner and you'll have less injury then your going through now.Female teachers are in demand from other females wanting to learn..When your around alcohol all the time it gives off chemicals which are unhealthy.If you need to, do both, and one will help the other. Love your channel even though I am more of a hooper who practices Tai Chi My UA-cam video is "shoulder duckouts most advanced level found here."

    Taylor! Love you, love your channel. As a former bar manager, let me tell you a couple of things about it. First, learn recipes, You can make the fanciest display in history out of making a mai thai, but if your customer thinks it's a trash drink they're going to ask one of your coworkers for the next one. Second, MOST of your job is going to be pouring beers. Third, depending on the location you end up working on, you're not always going to have time for flair bartending. If it's a Friday night, and there's people crowding all around your bar to order a drink, they're going to want to see you hustling to finish orders. Fourth, I'd encourage you to pick maybe one or two drinks to feature as "specials," where say if I order an Old Fashioned, I don't get a show but if I order a Martini I do. When the energy is right in the room, the show is going to encourage more people to order that drink. You seem to have a great personality, though, and I'm sure you'll make a great bartender. Best of luck to you in this new endeavor!

    • @TaylorTries
      @TaylorTries  4 роки тому +6

      Thanks so much for the advice! I started my class last week and have been obsessively studying recipes. I'm super excited to get to make drinks for people and put that knowledge to the test!
      I definitely know what you mean about not having time to do flair! I assumed that would be the case when I started learning. I'm sure it'll be a very rare thing to have the opportunity to do any flair, but hopefully I'll be able to pop it out here and there when appropriate!
      I'm really excited about bartending for all the reasons! I think the process of making drinks quickly will really satisfy my busy hands, and I love meeting people. Super excited!

    Half of ur juggling is not possible with a full working bottle. Do to science and gravity the liquid would come out
