After a tire blew out on our chase vehicle, we made the decision to abandon our car and seek shelter behind a building during the eyewall of Hurricane Delta. We watched as the town was torn apart all around us.
Hurricane Delta made landfall in Southern Louisiana as a Category 2 storm on October 9, 2020 only six weeks after Hurricane Laura stuck almost the exact location.

That truck flipped over on I-10 with the Cherokee with the lightbar on it was me.
Crazy storm!
As a life long resident of Louisiana....sorry about your tire. Our roads suck
The irony of getting a blown out tire next to a tire shop...
Seriously though, incredible footage, thanks for what y'all do! It's the only way us mere mortals can experience the terrible power of these storms!
Lake Charles can’t catch a break I hope it’s calmer this year
Great video seeing it in the daylight..two storms that hit me, Alicia and Ike, were at night...
which is loud and makin for an anxious wait in the dark.
Yeah hurricane laura made it night I woke up at 5:36 to heavy rain and soft rain hitting it still dont know what its called when it goes from hard to soft on and on.
Brilliant work guys - your documentaries are so well produced and very riveting!
That means a lot, James! Thanks for that!
Thank you for both hurricane laura and this one. I rode both of them out in lake charles and hope no one ever has to experience being hit like we were. We will rebuild and he better than ever #swlastrong
I rode out both in Jennings but it didn’t hit us so bad but people I knew that lived closer to Lake Charles got a lot of damage and some couldn’t find their pets or they found them dead. Delta gave Jennings water that went to our knees but it went away quickly. Hate that people have to go through this
It is like in the world storms Back-to-back
Don't you get tired of rebuilding?
#TORNADOTRACKERS Thank you for sharing this footage! I'm a Lake Charles resident and it's truly a devastating time for SWLA. Thank yall for doing what yall do ❤️🌪️🌀⚡❤️
My heart breaks for those in this community. They have been hit hard. Just sad to see people lose their homes and sentimental possessions. Mother nature is both beautiful and cruel. Watching this makes you realize how unsafe you are in these storms. Our home is our shelter, our soft place to fall ...yet isn't. Pray for all those affected by this storm and others
@Mallory Gardner aww thank you for such a sweet comment. I just have a huge heart and hurt for others when they hurt. Just sad and beautiful to see so many come together to take on the task of helping those that lost so much.
Thank you for all you guys do to bring this storm to us. Please be safe.
Thanks for that amazing documentary. This is breathtaking !
Thanks for watching!!!
Y’a know it is breathtaking but for me when I first came back home after Laura just to spend the birthday with my friend I nearly broke down in tears coming off of I-10 y’a know? It’s strange how fast things can change, I was unsure of the fact that I might not move back but here I am, it’s still unsettling to see tarps on the roofs and slabs where some of the shops I knew were. But slowly and surely all of swla is rebuilding and coming back stronger than ever. Just remember while there is beauty in these storms the damage is unreal and heartbreaking for those it directly impacted, I’m glad these documentaries were filmed it’s something to hold onto in remembrance when so many have lost so much.
thanks for documenting this and Laura I am lake Charles resident and me and my family rode out this and Laura in our home it was a sight to experience and to see and feel
So far I have donated five thousand dollars to hurricane releaf. I am from Louisiana originally. Jefferson parish is where I lived for the first 3 years of my life
its cool to see a rainless hurricane
I am actually a resident of a nearby town that you were in. I live about 19 minutes east away from there and our town had equal damage. We even had a twister or two..you really captured the worst of hurricanes though. Amazing job! (I know I'm late but this just recently popped up on my recommended)
Good morning
Buildings made of thin corrugated metal sheets attached to a framework are inexpensive to construct, but...in situations like this, they have problems.
they're also cheap to repair/replace after a hurricane, which is why they're so popular in the south and up the east coast.
both of you have the biggest balls known to the human race like no one stopped to help not even the cop im glad ya'll are okay
Man great video.we road it out in sulphur la.It was crazy on the west side.
A banger as always, great job guys!
Unbelievable footage! 🌀
OMG the people in that truck tipped over I hope their ok :(
I stayed for this hurricane
I hope Lake Charles has an easier year this year
Heartbreaking.

5:35 your tire look good !!!!!
4:34 Jesus Christ your location was literally just south of where I live
Damn
if you had a full size spare all that time then why didn't you change it sooner?
impressive!
Take care
God bless the people who have to deal with hurricanes
They are really fun! I have been through multiple hurricanes. Sally was the last one.
When you said,"Oh Jesus"!!
You were correct! Jesus was watching over you both.
At least you had your tire blow out in a tire shop parking lot.
U guys would need a very sturdy jack in this too scary im glad i live in south africa where this doesn't happen
Feel better soon lol
Am barb going to bed now lol
a hurricane laura is the strongest storm of the season?
yes. i don't believe there was a storm that made it to that strength, and i know for sure not at land fall.
@@Pmuree86 No i think iota now
Man you guys sure have shit luck with your cars failing at the worst times. Glad you’re all okay!
They should’ve kept driving on the blown tire
Soooo 😢 sad
Why didn't yall get in one of the trucks that kept driving by yall?
Road it out in Church Point LA with some family I got some footage if y’all wanna see! I’m going to upload it so be sure it check it out
😢😢😢
The best place to be was Creole. It was stronger there. Eyewall and eye penetration at landfall.
Boa noite a todos do canal
2020 really was a ven worse year now that i see this😞
storms like this happen multiple times a years and have for hundreds of years. it isn't specific to 2020, so what does this video have to do with the year being worse?
Great. But WHY did you not park your vehicle behind the sturdy building. I just don’t get it. Safer inside than out. Would of been a whole lot better.
You geniuses do know you can still drive the car on a flat, you could also just change the tire.
Why didn't you drive your car behind the wall?
Where can you donate at
We recommend Team Rubicon, an outstanding disaster relief organization. teamrubiconusa.org

Should have came to Gretna or westbank area instead of there
And you didn't just drive over to that building because?
👀👀👀🤕🤕🤕
A bit over play don’t you think
They do know they can still drive on a flat right? Should've just drove car to safe spot n sat in it.
Why live in those places?
Because it's home

I think Delta, Sally, Laura, and Isaias will be retired
In the past, they have not retired Greek names. However, there is a debate going on so that may change.
Laura and Sally for sure
Maybe hanna for catastrophic flooding in mexico
@@earthboundKC The Greek names have been dropped entirely, they will have a spare list of names should we go through the list a third time. Far as I know, only Laura has been retired as a name.
@@Bloodreign1 Yep. They upgraded Zeta too.

They need prayers not money. They just need to pray for their sins. Then maybe god won't let this happen again. Amen.

Lol
I?
Nothing funny about these storms, If you live in Southern India, near the Arabian Sea, you know full well the power of these cyclones.
