    I'll be age 85 in May and I have been taking MacuGuard (with astaxanthin) for many years. I still haven't required cataract surgery and they say that I still have 20/20 vision.

    I’m currently taking 50 milligrams of astaxanthin a day, it’s been about6 weeks and my vision has improved. My cataracts are slowing reversing and I no longer need trifocals, only readers!

    I know this is old but decided to leave a comment anyways. I have been using a new product from a company The Nu C0 and their ingredients for moisturizer in Pill Form contain 250mcg asthanxthan, hydrolyzed collagen, ceramosides what seed extract and a proprietory blend of 100 mg of aloe leaf powder, grape seed extract, and hyaluronic acid sodium. I also take Sunsafe RX that contain omega fatty acids alone with vitamin a, c, and e, selenium, zeaxanthan, green tea extract, polypodium leuctomos, and lycopene plus other good ingredients. I take hyaluronic acid as well and use 4% kojic acid and 0.005 tretinoin, 4% Hydroquinone as a topical and AHAS plus BHA lotion with TCA to quickly remove dark spots

    Can someone please answer me? Does astaxanthin affect female hormones? I take astaxanthin for 2 months the first month my skin glows, shiny hair, and happy mood but after a month the good effects disappeared, i started to have problem with my sleep, lots of facial hair, joint muscle pain, and very late period i think it mess with my cycle. Please can someone explain?

      Perhaps the amount you were taking became too much for your body...like perhaps your body "caught up," and then needed less to maintain your benefits from the product?? Off the top of my head, that's the only thing that makes sense 😊. Good luck!!

    it's interesting that it's said not to take this antioxidant if you have auto immune disorders but all the things it benefits and helps are things I suffer from with my autoimmune disorder. I'm confused.

      I have rheumatoid arthritis I've been taking 12mg bioastin astaxanthin for about 7 years now. Best supplement I've ever taken. I've tried cheaper brands but for some reason this one works the best. I do not take any prescription meds for my RA and I feel great. My doctor couldn't believe it. I also take vitamin D3 5,000iu and K2 and magnesium 300mg

      @@jessie9653hi Jessie, may I ask what brand is the bioastin astaxanthin you are taking and where do you get it from? I have RA for 2 years and macular degeneration for few years now and I do not take any medication for that. I am currently taking 5k ius of Vit D3, Vit K Mk7 and fish oil.

      @@ummuaida1856 I've tried several different brands but the best one that I have found is BioAstin Hawaiian astaxanthin 12mg. I purchased it from Costco online. It is quite pricey about $50 for 120 capsules but if you watch for it enough sometimes you can get 10 or $15 off a bottle. It's the one supplement other than my vitamin D and k that I will never be without. When you start it don't get discouraged it might take a little while to get in your system maybe a few weeks but once it does it made a huge difference for me. My brother takes it as well my husband and my mother and my cousin and they all feel the same way.

    I suffer with an eye disease called Stargardt’s. It causes macular degeneration due to a genetic problem where the macular dies because the cell can’t clear waste products.We are told not to take vitamin A and I worry that as I get older I’m going to get the age related version as well because I can’t take anything that supports my circulation. I also worry about my health in general because good circulation is important. Any ideas?

      Just try it! I think it will if take them long enough. I just started my first bottle of 4 mg some times 2 times a day. It had helped me before but when I start getting reaction I just stop. If I start noticed reaction in my sinus issue I will have to stop again. It does eliminate backpain and joint pain within 3 weeks.

    Over quarantine I feel like my eye sight has gotten worse. I used to have amazing vision but not its hard to read things up to like 6-8 feet. Depending on font size etc. I'm on my computer all day long because of school and I don't like it. Do you know how I can tell if I'm becoming near sighted, or Imp developing computer vision syndrome.

    • @JoelHayden

      Hey Alexer! I think it is time for a thorough eye exam. Way better to find out what's going on earlier than later. Given my experience during the pandemic, computer vision syndrome would be at the top of my list. But no need to guess. Get them checked out....

      Get some blue light blockers for example orange lenses work great for this. Orange blocks all blues. Blues are degenerative and stress inducing in your eyes. Also, try to rest your eyes for about 5 minutes every couple hours. Astaxanthin is good too.

    Do people who don't eat these astaxanthin sources still have it in their eyes?

    • @JoelHayden
      @JoelHayden  3 роки тому +12

      Good Question Christian - It seems that Astaxanthin is not naturally in the eye without ingestion from exogenous sources. I have looked it up a few different places and could not find anything about naturally occurring Astaxanthin in the eye or body. Hope this helps.
