There's a (probably unnecessary) method that is hard to nail, the one where you layer spiced rice on top of plain one, over and over. But simple Biryani isn't that hard to make, if you have the right guidance

For those who are making this for more than one person! Cook the rice untill it's 80 or 85% done... Not 60%. Then you have to cook it for 40 mins on low heat or you will end up with raw rice! Don't go easy on ghee!

The reason is that he layers the uncooked marinated chicken with half cooked rice instead of cooking the rice and chicken separately and then combining the two (which is the more common way of making it). I believe this is a hyedrabadi style of biryani; still traditional and therefore valid and in my opinion, the meat tastes even better this way - so tender and juicy 🤤 The only thing I noticed is that he used skinned chicken whereas we usually use skinless, but this seems worth a try
