    Hello, new subscriber from UK..have just discovered your channel and enjoying catching up on all your previous videos. I like the idea of arranging your colours following the rainbow..I just kept mine in the colours already placed in my Winsor & Newton half pan set lol. Nice range of colours you have 🥰

      Hi! Thanks for watching! Curious to know how W&N arrange their half pan palette set for you! I have a W&N travel half pan set but I think I rearranged it after I got it and added a whole bunch of other colours in it. hahaha

      @@crystaltanart hi, I’ve added more colours but the main ones were winsor&newton yellow, cadmiun yellow, yellow ochre, burnet sienna, burnt umber, winsor orange,winsor red, sap green, hookers green, cerulean blue, Payne’s grey, lamp black and titanium white. I added extra blues as I thought ultra marine would have been in it and added winsor blue ( green shade) . I don’t use black or white much so will probably remove them and replace with more greens and blue .. as I’ve used the half pans provided, I’m replacing with other brands in the same colours to see how they are lol.

    I also just discovered your channel and subscribed. Lovely spring palette! Regarding the mixing trays, I saw another artist use silicone bathroom caulk from the tube to create mixing compartments in his butcher tray and thought it was such a great and simple DIY. I’m going to try it for my plastic inserts.

    You are quite lovely and gentle as an instructor! I just love every one of your videos that I have been able to watch. You covered just about everything before I could think of the question. I do have 2 though. Where do you stand on paintbrushes? Is there a significant difference between medium and high/professional grade paintbrushes that would be of an advantage to a very new painter? Also, can you mix paint brands like blue Arteza in a tube with blue Winsor Newton in the same blue in your palette?

    • @crystaltanart
      @crystaltanart  Рік тому

      Hey Catherine! I totally have ignored brushes so far in all my videos haven't i! yes there is a difference but I think you can get away using cheaper taklon/nylon brushes. So the difference is not as huge as paints or paper. I will do a video on brushes soon I promise! And as for your second question, I haven't tried it yet myself, but I think because different brands use different fillers & binders, It may not mix as well. But who knows! You should try a small amount and see how it goes!

    Hi Crystal! Just found your channel! Loved the palette tour and I’ve subscribed. Just thought I’d share for anyone interested: Quin Coral is a gorgeous, transparent color. ❤️ However I have recently replaced Quin Coral (DS) with Quin Red (Sennelier). They are identical colors BUT the Sennelier QRed creates effortless smooth washes and mass tones whereas I found the DS QCoral to be streakier and more fussy to work with. Anyway, keep up the great work!

      Oh thank you! I don't have any Sennelier at the moment but will definitely check it out. :)

    You can use not glue to make dividers on the mixing wells.

      Maybe..! I don't know a TON about all the fillers different brand uses. But i was geeking out on youtube videos about them not long ago! Im sure there are other UA-camrs that will explain that! Thanks for watching!!!

    Hi. I bought this palette after watching your video. Could you please let me know what did you do for color beading on the palette ?
    I am really enjoying your videos and your art ❤️

      @crystaltanart  Рік тому +1

      Thank you so much! This is a great set. I've painted a few times after this video! As for the beading on the metal palette, it will just eventually bead less and less when you use it more and more. So my advise is just.... to tolerate it for the time being! :) Hope that helps!

  • @jennifersjunkmail5935

    FYI - I've seen people make palette well dividers by drawing a bead using a hot glue gun.
