- We have been featuring a number of custom Taylor Guitars from the Catch event earlier this year. This one is a bit different. Hidden away from the public and not shown to anyone that wasn't at the event, this special Catch #25 features not just a stunning guitar, but also a new acoustic amp from Taylor from a new brand under the Taylor umbrella dubbed "Circa 74". I’m not a big Taylor fan but must admit this was a pretty sweet setup sadly $10K I just a tad over my budget.

The "CA" , of CIRCA 74 logo is inside the circle and white. I'm sure that is a reference to California.
Interesting sounds from this wood pairing. Hope CA74 amps are reasonably priced when they come out. My Fender Acoustic Jr GO is very versatile with the battery power. 100 amps of power. It doesn’t look like the catch amp can match the versatility of the Fender.
They also built amps for some of their Builder Reserve guitars about 10 years ago Cooper.. I’m fortunate to have a Builders Reserve lll with matching amp, one of 30 sets produced..
love the ebony cabinet!! -but I think the white plastic knobs looks kinda cheap in contrast :)
I also think the 'Circa74' logo could have be done a tat more tastefully.

I'd like to see a demo with the Henricksen amplifiers designed and built in Colorado: the Bud Six, Blue Six, Bud Ten, Blue Ten, and others, which also have fitted gig bags. Highway 97 has been my commuting route since 1984 (less than once a year since I retired to CONUS, known as "the lower 48."

Thank you- it’s true that all these prices have jumped, but we’ve also been giving a lot of attention to the luxury products recently. I do believe they have a great lineup of more affordable guitars, and we will be highlighting those more often.

As beautiful as it all seems, this is the perfect demonstration of the one thing all performing acoustic guitar players are struggling with. You own an amazingly beautiful sounding guitar and as soon as you amplify it, no matter how good the amp is, or the IR, or the preamp/DI … it always sounds COMPLETELY DIFFERENT.
Saddening really. ☹️

The guitar is really beautiful and sounds good. But I do not really see the point in Taylor entering the acoustic amp market to do exactly the same thing as other brands do already. What is the point if there is no innovation bring to the table ? And it is hard to judge the quality of the sound produced by the amp because the ES-2 system is just bad, it is lagging behind by miles and miles. There are much better system out there from K&K (Trinity Pro), LR Baggs (Anthem) and others brands. Even a cheap and simple K&K Pure mini sounds better in most conditions than a ES-2. The ES-2 might be okay for Taylor cheaper guitars, but it is really bad to add to to their high end models. I would rather them to focus in updating the ES-2 and improve it a lot than try to enter the amp market…
Greed has overtaken the Taylor company. I’ve got two Taylor Guitars i bought back in 2011 but it’s just getting ridiculous with the prices.
That combo is almost too good to play… I’d just want to display both in a protective glass case, especially given the price tag. That right there means it’s not for me, LOL.
Let me guess, the amp has a treble knob but no bass?

and that mother of pearl has "V" bracing.. which sucks! Hate Taylor after Bob Taylor sold out! My local guitar store guys told me they couldn't give a Taylor Guiitar away now. .. that being said...CB can play anything and make it sound good!
