The work always makes the house more comfortable. Many times it makes it quieter too, which is not something we ever think of, but you can't hear cars going by or the wind as much when your home is well insulated. The best time to insulate your home is ten years ago - the second-best time is now. I have fixed every home for all my family members and seen the grat results. It's a no-brainer!
If you have rooms upstairs that are too hot in the summer - we can help this a LOT. If you have rooms that are drafty or cold floors, we can help a LOT!

Usually pays for itself in 4 - 6 years.... compared to what exactly? Just saying it, will not make it true in every circumstance
I know external insulation will take me about roughly 20+ years to recoup !! That's a damn long time and there for I'm not doing it.

mirola73 I'm not sure what external insulating is. Ill just assume is what's in the external walls. There are new diy insulating that you can do yourself. I insulated my attic myself the same way this channel shows & it works great. 20 years to pay for it, in my opinion is way to long. I'm so sorry you have to deal with that. Have you tried any diy for that issue? Or looked into it?

I've dug around my attic last year and air sealed the top plates, dropped soffits, and penetrations. I used about $30 in spray foam cans. That paid for itself the coldest month last winter. As Dr. Energy Saver usually says in these videos, air sealing is the first step. I plan to insulate more in the coming years.

"Home comfort at no cost." Sound like a promise savings will pay for improvements?
Ever track to see if this is truth or lies? Any case studies? Or is this just smoke without substance?

Ted Kidd I installed the attic insulation and if paid for itself in 6 months in the hot Tennessee sun. That's a bit extreme because is so hot. Of course I did it so I didn't pay anyone.
