Otter builds the best sled hands down. Nothing else comes close.
I also LOVE the Otter sleds!! Hyfax is a must on these units, I'm interested to see how they hold up, they both seem to have come along with improving their sleds a bit, but I would say still not quite as heavy duty as the Otter Pro series. But the question for me is, do I need that? Or is a lighter sled still durable enough while being less weight?

The roto molded sleds on the eskimos are just as durable. The ido fishing crew logged a ton of miles on one last year without hyfax and it held up insanely well. It just sucks that you have to go to the high end models to get it!
These days they may, but clam used to build amazing shacks and sleds. I have a fish trap that’s about 30 years old
@@stussy28 I had to retrofit Voyageur 3 houses to Otter sleds because the tubs were junk on them. I have over 15,000 miles on my oldest Otter Lodge. Most of my travel is in Canada lake trout fishing over the nastiest conditions and rock filled portages.
That’s a crazy pile of gear! I like the high roof in the clam, but I’ve had such good luck with my eskimos!
It's a good haul for sure. Lots of fun things to try out this year! We will see between the Eskimo and Clam how they compare!
I noticed. You have the. Rapala mega retractable ice scoop I have that and like it how ever I would. Be. Careful it. Will. Freeze either extended or retracted
Yeah, I thought about it and wondered if that was going to be an issue. Fortunately I usually keep it in a heated shack when out on the ice, so as long as it doesn't freeze up on the way out or in between I'm hoping it will be okay

I got into Trio Tackle jigs last year, had good success with large crappie with their tungsten jigs. I also have some of those ball "ice angels" but never used them last year.
Also they are made about 10 minutes from where I grew up

I am absolutely stoked for the FishDaddy Plastic they look amazing and early reports is that they are pretty durable. Also the FishMore guys are so awesome with a great product.

on black friday I picked up an ION alpha + as an upgrade to my ION x. Its crazy how much I notice the weight difference between the two. I also picked up the clam stoplight bobber...PUMPED for this season

Just switched my livescope from the Rigid toolbox setup to a modified hole hopper setup! Should be much quicker to move that behemoth screen / transducer around !

The compact mega scoop may have to be added to my arsenal. I need to quit pulling slush with my hands. Especially when day starts turning into night and the Temps drop fast. I have a scoop but almost always leave it in my sled. Really digging the wonderbread plastics I may have to try them even tho I never have much luck with plastics.

I'm going to the St. Paul Ice show this weekend and hoping to find a deal on either a livescope or a mega live ice bundle. Any tips or suggestions?
Get there as early as you can (Friday if possible), otherwise right at open Saturday if you can and go right to the retailer booths (Thorne Bros, Reeds, Marine General, Joe's Sporting Goods, etc.) And see who has them in stock and what their show price is. If you find any at 20% off buy it right away as you won't find a better deal likely. But make sure you look online at the prices of that exact bundle before you buy it, still a few good deals online through Scheels and Amazon specifically that I've seen
For tackle you should check out the Suitcase from widow maker lures. They are 🔥
I've got 6 of them! They are nice, but I miss being able to see my stuff without opening them and hard to keep closed when packed full
Hell yeah been waiting for someone to post about clams new ice trap please if you could in your next video on the fish traps please do a closeup an a good distance away so we all can get a pretty go description of what it looks like in an out been thinking about but one of those three

I sat in all the new models at the Sioux Falls ice show, definitely doesn’t feel like a small cramped one man anymore that’s for sure. Even the 4” (or whatever the difference is between the xr and non xr wide one) made a ton of difference.

I have that otter jump seat on the way. How does it connect to a 5 gallon pale? Does it clip on or just rest on the bucket? There is no info on the site really and its too new that there are no review videos of it yet. Super excited to get mine! Plan to replace my seat in the Kenai pro and then on warm days ill just drop it in the sled as well to have something to sit on. Great video!

Do you put the otter light beacon on a clam house if so how do you do if? I want to buy one but I’m not sure just to get a otter beacon or a Atv whip light
I don't believe Clam's have a spot for the light beacons, might have to figure out patch of fabric or something to make a sleeve is what I'm thinking
New clam is nice ...but black inside would be deal breaker 4 me
