I made this 4 times now. The first 3 times I tweaked different things but my bread would fall because it was too wet. I finally found something that told me I should touch the dough after it mixed and if it sticks to your finger, you need to add more flour. I ended up cutting the water out altogether, i substituted cottage cheese for the sour cream, then let it mix. After the first mix, it was too wet so I added 1T at a time for a total of about 3 1/2T flour and the bread came out correctly (no dense gooey bread). Yey! Thanks for the base recipe! I'm going to use that techinic in the future for all breads.
This recipe is one of the best out there! I’ve made the bread four times now and everyone loves it! Thank you for sharing and making a simple and easy video!
Have made this bread a number of times with excellent results. I've added in my own tweaks - (i) increased the flour by 1/4 cup, makes for a firmer dough ball which allows you to tip the dough ball to one side in order to remove the paddle (my machine has a good sized paddle which isn't easily extracted once the bake is complete, without tearing out a big hole); (2) reduced the Jalapeño to 1 large, added in 1 or 2 TBSP of roughly-chopped hot Jalapeño slices (comes in a jar - adjust according to your tolerance for heat. My family loves the spiciness); (3) added in 1/2 cup of diced (3/8" cubes) Parmesan cheese. Adding in the extra flour and cheese doesn't seem to upset the balance of ingredients. Add in (1) at the beginning of the 2nd knead, and (2) and (3) 4 - 5 minutes before the end of the 2nd knead. I set the crust to light, and let the loaf bake in the machine. When I remove the paddle (following 2nd rise and punch-down), I gently press the ball with my knuckles until it fills the bottom of the pan, and the top of the dough is level. The 3rd rise will bring the level back up again, and the bake (and the baking soda action) will expand the loaf even more, to just below the top of my 2 lbs sized pan. Our preferred way to eat it is to lightly toast a slice and then spread it with butter while still hot. Deeelicious!!! Kudos to Mr. Bread Baker for an excellent recipe!
Thank you for this recipe! I made it today and it was bomb! I used 2 small jalapeños bc I’m a weenie, and added a can of diced jalapeños bc they aren’t too spicy. I used half cheddar cheese and half Jack cheese. It was really good and super simple! I suggest peeps give this recipe a try! I also made tacos for dinner to go along with the bread 🤤 I appreciate your recipe! Thanks again
Made this bread more than hundred times ...not a single time regretted.. Thanks a lot..My kids just love the taste...and i like the praise i recieve. different cheeses give different flavours..
so I've noticed that i guess bread machines take less water to make the dough into a ball and knead it, cause i've tried using hand mixed recipes where its 3 cups of flour to 1 - 1 1/4 cup of water, and the dough is just super wet and never balls up. I've been using your recipe and its been turning out great !
Thanks, man. Jalapeno was looking sad in the supermarket so used scallion instead. Soooooo aromatic! I gave two slices to my friend and he liked the consistency. He spread a bit of butter on it and said "it's like a non-sweet dessert".
If I wanted to make a 2Pound loaf what would be the respective ingredient measurements. I made your recipe a few times, I now would like to make the loaf a large 2 pound size?
Thanks for the recipe! I added vital wheat gluten (1tbsp) since i read a tip in a fb group when using ap flour instead of bread flour. It turned out great!
You are my "go to" guy for great and quick bread machine recipe videos. I've made this one twice now. Really delicious and different! Question: How do find it's best to store your bread? Thanks PS Nice house! ;-) PS I JUST made your honey whole wheat w/sun flour seeds. Came out perfect looking and tasting!
@@tomm9493 Those are definitely amazing options if you don't mind the additional purchase. I just wanted to provide something simple you might already have in the house. My personal favorite if you want to know is an old school bread box, they have some really nice ones now
I really enjoy your videos. Can I give a suggestion? For the final showcase of the bread, could you use a closer shot to highlight the details? It would quickly attract more followers! Also, I tried making your recipes myself and absolutely love the delicate texture of the bread they produce!
I'M making this but with Green chile ,, (New mexico style ) i make your dinner rolls all the time :-) could you do the same with this ? thanks for sharing all your great videos, wish me luck its almost done 😀
I just made this bread yesterday & it turned out delicious! My breadmaker will make up to a 2 lb loaf of bread. How would I convert this recipe to make a 2 lb loaf?
Hi! Question: Do you pull the paddle out of the dough? If so, how do you re-shape it? Do you just make it a sqare shape? or round (and it reshapes while baking?) I just ordered this bread maker yesterday. I can't wait to try your recipes!
I made my first bread last night and it wasn't cooked all the way through, maybe because I didn't remove the styrofoam. Yes the styrofoam melted in the Breadmaker. But the Jalapeno Cheese Bread was delicious with flavor.
Hi I have had this mode for almost 2 years but bread makers in general for about 5. This model is just easier and smaller, so it’s much easier to store and keeps out of the way. I usually use it about once or twice a week usually on the weekends to last all week. I make regular bread for us for school lunches etc and deserts as well, been doing it for quite a while. I really only started making the videos once Covid hit though. There’s a few different ones that are good as well but this one is fairly inexpensive compared to the others. Let me know if you have any other questions. And oh yes m. The clean up is super easy!
I followed your recipe and my bread go so big and then sunk at the end of baking. What happened?! I’m so sad cause it smells so good but didn’t t work as I expected it too. I haven’t tasted it yet though
Made this last weekend!! Delicious!!! Thank you for sharing!

Amazing!! This bread is sooo good. I highly recommend! Excellent job, my man!!
I just got my bread machine (same one you have) and my first bread is going to be your recipe! Thank you
I’m so excited for you!!! Hope you love it as much as I do
This was such a useful recipe! Thank you 😊 the only improvement I have is to document in the description which cycle, crust and loaf size to select.
Thank you so much I definitely will

Thanks so much Tom! The best way is definitely a paper bag, rolled down at the top. That's going to give you the best results.
@@mrbreadbaker368 Just a plain paper bag? I'm seeing linen bags for bread online, even one lined with beeswax. Also read slicing then vacuum sealing.

Thank you so much for the recipe! I am very exited, I can’t wait to make it.
Any time!!! Just FYI if you like it a bit spicy you may want to add one more jalapeno. I usually only like it a little spicy . Hope you like it!
This looks great, do the jalapeños get soft or stay crunchy?

Just wondering why you didn't use bread flour...Does AP flour make it sturdier or something? Eager to try your recipe. Thank you.
There very similar the AP is not as fluffy but almost the same
Going to try it tday, would cream cheese work as a substitute for cheddar?
How long does this take to cook generally? Also, if I sauté garlic and onions and add them in before the cheese would that be okay?

you can do it when a long beep sounds. You take out the doug, taake de paddle and put it back as it is. It reshapes alone
Can you make a blueberry bread, I had a recipie years ago and cannot find it

What is the loaf size setting?
