I grew up listening to 70's 🎶 music. It just seemed like everyone had soul back then and funk. Everyone seemed to get along better too. Black, white, Latinos ect❤

Please let me make a couple of suggestions. The lead singer in this song is Michael McDonald and he has an entire catalog of his own that is amazing. I would highly suggest his hit "I Keep Forgettin" and his duet with James Ingram :Ya Mo B There". A couple of songs by the Doobie Brothers that are a must are "Long Train Running" and "Black Water".

I played the crap out of this album on cassette tape. The bass line on this song is killer, it just drives the whole song.

in 1000 years if humans can stay alive they will be listening to 70s music. In my house as a kid in the 70s we heard a lot of Steely Dan and The Doobies, my parents loved them and I do as well. Lots of great songs from them.

There are two phases to the Doobie Brothers, due to the original lead singer, Tom Johnston, coming down with an illness, which opened the door for the second lead singer, Michael McDonald, to join the band. Tom wrote several hits for the band, then Michael wrote even more hits for the band. Both wrote fantastic songs, but with their own perspectives. Tom was more rock infused, while Michaels's had a jazz/R&B flare. I love both. I encourage you to go down the rabbit hole of the works from The Doobie Brothers. All of the musicians who have come and gone are superb! They are FIRE! ❤❤❤

Great info! Is he the same Michael McDonald who had been a solo pop star in the '80's?

You would have loved the 70's for sure. The groove was crankin' back then!

The late 50's, 60's, 70's and early 80's were the best time in history for music. I was lucky enough to be born in 1958 and I got to enjoy it all. I'm happy that the younger generations also get to enjoy and appreciate it. Maybe we will be able to bring it back, instead of what goes for music these days.

That’s exactly how it was Kamy. A misspent youth with NO regrets! 😉 Hangin with friends for every concert that rolled into town, whether it was The Stones, Floyd, Zeppelin… The musical horizon of The Classic Era was an embarrassment of riches for those of us who lived it. Thanks for keeping it alive. Btw, saw The Doobie Bros. last yr in Tampa. Every song on the show’s set list was a hit and they still sound great. Enjoying your reactions. 🤘
