A chill News Year’s Eve is the best. My husband and I went to my parent’s house and ate crab legs then we came home and flipped through the live broadcasts too! Glad you had some time to spend with family and friends! Thanks for the video, very soothing and sleepy!

I mentioned it in a video a few weeks ago right before yt made the change. UA-cam has changed ads and we, creators, have no control over when they are playing anymore or what types of ads they play :/ Sorry for this unfortunate change! I hope YT changes something about it soon cause it is stupid.
@@TheWaterwhispersASMRyou should put the hashtag #forsleep in the description. There’s some asmrtist who are in contact with UA-cam so they’re trying to use the hashtag so UA-cam understands it’s sane and not supposed to roll ads at the end of the video! Some people made videos about it ☺️

I too had a quiet New Years at home. I think it’s the absolute worst time to go out because everything is overcrowded and super expensive so I prefer to stay home whether with or without company. Christmas was wonderful, just me, my husband and my 2 kids all day long then I hosted dinner with my parents and youngest brother. Years ago we gave up running around all day visiting or going to a relative’s house and we stay home as a family every Christmas. It’s our personal together time that we all cherish. I feel so fortunate to have this. I too don’t make New Year’s resolutions. I think it’s a set up for failure anyway. You don’t need a new year in order to decide to do something. Wishing you a peaceful 2024.

I celebrated at home. I live with, and take care of my Mom who has 4 autoimmune diseases, kidney failure, diabetes, vision impairment, and she had a stroke 2 years ago and can’t walk anymore. So she’s been in the hospital every Thanksgiving and Christmas since 2020. This is the first year since then, that we got to spend thanksgiving, Christmas and new years with her at home. She had a wonderful time and despite her visit impairment she loved all the Christmas lights and the new years fireworks and music on tv. Due to her budget being so small since she relies solely on a disability check from the government, I haven’t received a Christmas or birthday present in about 5 years. I understood completely and still bought gifts for her every year. Seeing her smile is the best. This was the first Christmas since 2018 that she was able to buy me a gift. She was so proud and so happy. I cried so many happy tears. This holiday season was so very special for me.

I get very nostalgic and a little sad at Christmas, as it always brings back memories of years gone by with family, most of which are no longer with us, but great memories just the same. I'm not at all surprised that you felt nostalgic and emotional during it - you must miss home so much. Any plans on going back for a visit anytime soon?
No plans atm and I do not miss it as much as I would have thought. but certain traditions and foods I do miss at this time of year :)

PS, bitters is used in some mixed drinks and often times used in club soda too. Just a few drops is all you need. If you like bitter foods, it’s excellent in club soda with fresh lemon, just a few drops as it is quite concentrated.
