There seems to be very little expository preaching or exegesis of the text in the orthodox churches. It makes me harken back to my reformed days. It appears to me that the reformed faith is more oriented to the text of scripture. Please advise, thanks.
Maybe it is that way in some church’s although we went to St. Seraphim in Santa Rosa CA they have many homilies on archive on their website. It would be edifying to listen to some of them with an open mind and heart. Also the preaching or as we call it, homily is very detailed about the scripture for that day. Also please know homilies are normally not longer than 20 minutes in length. The worship of Jesus is the primary goal. Theosis.
