Good morning. We are Korea's coffee specialty media 'Coffee TV'. Your product image is very impressive. Is it okay to reveal the source to our Facebook page?
A real mess actually! Hard to rise and not let grinds go down the sink. You also have two pots (one metal and one glass) to wash. Not something I'd do every morning!
I received one of these for Christmas! Unfortunately, the recall is not working. Do you have any suggestions? I'd really appreciate any assistance. Also, where the heck does the filter go? Thanks!
+Jerusha H. Shipstead The filter goes on the strainer at the end of the stick, you can see it at 0:19. For the recall the fire has to be out and the top of the kettle has to be sealed airtight. Maybe just wiggling the whole mechanism to loosen it up may help.
Yes! The instructions were a little unclear, but I figured it out: do not open the water reservoir's top finial until the coffee is finished moving from the glass carafe.
From what I see - extraction is uneven and there is no way to control the time... even common siphon is quite no-go for specialty coffee, and this beautifull thing.....I dont know.. :)
People don't use siphon to brew specialty coffee. But it produces a home-style medium to dark roasted coffee, which people tend to put sugar and creamer in it.
For too complicated for a cup of coffee . This is not something that has to be done in a chemistry lab . I bought my coffee pot at the dollar store for 9 bucks . Its quick easy & works just fine . Dont over think it . Its just a cup of coffee .
Ive drove trucks cross country for many yrs,,& trust me i do appreciate a good quality cup of coffee . And i found good coffee most every place i traveled which is every actually everywhere . I am retired now but i still drink at least a pot a day . And i dont really have a dollar store pot although i have before . I do have a good pot that i am very proud of . But nothing like in that video . I live on the gulf about as for south as you can go in Louisiana without a boat . Other than those who are hooked on starbucks The most common coffee we have here is Community Dark Roast . You likely never heard of it , What a shame . I drink it black . To me the more you add to it the more you take away from it .Cheers to you Brian .
Steve Holland nice! I am shocked to say you have had a good cup of coffee across this country. a good cup is for sure relative but the are really only good cups of coffee and not in my book. a good cup really starts with your roaster and if they are roasting with some knowledge, things like your elevation plays a huge role. if I was roasting a bean at see level vs 6000 ft I would roast it differently. definitely a good cup is always single organ beans, and experiments with water temp, how quick or slow your pour is, freshly ground etc... once you find what works for that particular bean being consistent is the main key. I have a hard time finding coffee shops that actually are consistent with each cup (not even going to get into expresso). my point is all these pieces of the puzzle are critical for a "good" cup of coffee in my humble opinion.
What gives you the impression it is boiling? FYI the water temp in a balancing syphon is 94-96C. I know as I own many and have inserted a wire into the kettle to measure it myself. Altitude will be a factor too. But no it is not boiling. So you take the "ugh" back. :)
Beautiful video Mark! You really do the syphon justice.
Thanks.
i love the presentation and the slurp at the end

Hasta siempre! And yes i love coffee too.
That slurp at the end tho
I would run it back threw a few times...Seems like a lot of grounds for such a small amount of water.
Beautiful

Seems they need to lower or trim the wick. It's boiling too hard.

Did it work?
