Leaving the City Behind? I'm doubting myself...

- As you may know, I'm planning on leaving the city for a life at the countryside. But the closer I get to that, more doubts arise within myself. I know what I want to do, but it still doesn't make it less scary. To the point that my body sometimes want to yell at me, asking why I'm doing this. Giving me plenty of anxiety.
Leaving my comfort zone is definitely scary, and I just hope I won't let my fear take over! I want to be in control of my life, not let the anxiety take over! So I'm working on my self-trust in order to one day live my dream!

Wow, I am thankful to have discovered your channel ❤️.
You’re the one who should have a thanks, for spending your valuable time here, watching! I’m so grateful! 🥰
It's not ridiculous darl! What the world needs now is authenticity. I'm so glad we crossed paths (through Jonna) and I love seeing where and how you live. I'm in Australia and am sending love
Thank you, and I agree with you! The world really needs more authenticity! Glad to hear you found me through Jonna! She's such a beautiful person! Happy to have you here! Much love from Sweden! ❤️
Daniel, I have so much to say about this video, so it's gonna be another long comment 😂
When you said "It feels like home", that really hit me, cause I know that feeling so well. When I park my car at the usual spot at the forest entrance and walk down to my apartment, I can see the view over my town and the forest surrounding it, that's when I get this feeling as well, it makes me really emotional, especially if I had to spend time in a stressfull city.
Spring started here a bit earlier, but it also happened really fast! I think it has become my favourite season, and it boosts my energy and motivates me to be creative, I have been able to make 2 videos already and working on the next one, I did a bit of drawing, and also brainstorming about my plans for the future 😊.
I'm also in the same boat when it comes to the struggle with how to title videos and not liking the way the algorithm works... I know exactly how you feel, some of my videos last year performed really well, and the last few didn't at all, and I have been thinking too much about why and how I can improve and reach more people again. It feels really difficult for us small creators, and we might get tempted to clickbait, but here is what I think: the people who follow your channel and stay, are here for YOU and who you truly are and what you share! It might be a lot slower in terms of growth, but in the end, I think you will feel better if you just title your videos how you want to, even if it gets less views 🤗
You know, back then I came across your channel through one of your videos that had "gay" in the title, I don't even know why I watched it, cause I was not particularly interested in this topic, but I'm glad I did. And I stayed because of you, not because of the titles, and I really love that we comment on each others videos, show support, and it feels a little bit like we are walking a similar path and watch each other grow! 🤗
What I have learned in the last year, is that it's always best to listen to your inner self, your gut feeling, and act the way that makes you feel the best. When I make decisions that don't truly align with how I feel, it usually then doesn't turn out so well or makes me feel bad in the long run, but thats also how we learn and grow. I hope this helped ❤
I love getting longe comments from you! 💕 Oh, isn't it wonderful to have a place you actually feel is "home"? I mean, there's probably a lot of people out there who feel they don't belong anywhere... So it's so wonderful that we've at least found sun a place, even if we might not be able to be there full-time just yet! ☺️
You have made two new videos?! None of them has popped up in my feed!! See, this is what I really don't like about the algorithm! UA-cam decides what it wants to promote, and if your video is not it, even your followers might miss is! But I'm gonna try to not think too much about it and just do this because I love doing it, and hope someone out there likes it! But yeah, it's hard when there might be plenty of people who would, but they never find you! 😂
Thank you for telling me how you found me! The way you're describing it, is just how I've hoped it would be for some! It helps you get the audience interested, but then it's your content and you who make them stay! ❤️ So I'm glad that's how it was for you with my content! 🤗
I'm definitely gonna just go with my gut feeling more, and right now, it's telling me to watch your videos that I had missed (thank you for that, UA-cam algorithm)! 🥰
@@DanielErik That's good, because I love writing, I actually try to keep it "short", but I just can't, haha 😆
Well, I do feel very much at home in my town, even if it might not be my ultimate dream place (which would be all alone in a small house in nature, without direct neighbors). I grew up here and I love this place, but I have to say, even for a small town, it's still so loud! I think I'm just super sensitive with noise, but it just bothers me to hear cars on a road nearby or construction site noise (there is one right next to the house I live in, yay...). Even out in the forest, theres airplane noise or ppl cutting down trees, and often I just long for that complete silence, which is very hard to find in our world.
Don't worry about not getting my videos in your feed 😊 but yeah, this part about UA-cam is a bit frustrating. I also worry that it hurt my channel that I was inactive for 6 months. I watched a lot of tip videos on how to grow your channel and stuff, but when it says "check whats trending in your niche and make more videos like that", how does that align with what we really feel like making? To me at least, my video ideas just come to me randomly, usually it's something I learned on my path and then just want to share with others, hoping it can help someone else out there. I'm sure you feel the same about this. I don't think I could make videos that are trending, but that aren't truly coming from me.
@@freedom.in.silence Oh, I fully agree with that! I need to make my videos the way they come to me! Like the one before this one, where I talked about "talking trees". Was it trending? No. Did I feel like I had to do it? Yes! ❤
I really hope you get to visit Sweden one day. If you go out to the countryside here, you will definitely be able to find quiet. And quiet is the best sound I know. Complete silence can speak a lot. ☺
@@DanielErik Oh, I dream of visiting Sweden!! First through Jonna Jinton and now you and some other creators, I got to see the beauty of that country, and I definitely felt a calling sometimes to visit and see the magic for myself. Those big lakes always look so peaceful in your videos, though if I am ever able to visit, I may not choose summer, because I have a little phobia of mosquitos, they freak me out 😂
@@freedom.in.silence Oh yeah, then maybe summer is not the best time to visit, haha! We have sooo many mosquitoes! But other than that, summers are just magical here! The sun basically never sets! 🙂
Social media is just a tool. Use it for positive goals, don't become addicted to it, don't judge yourself against the curated stories of others. You are gay, so it is not misleading to use gay in a title if relevant to what you want to share. People will only stay if they value the content. So glad you're able to spend some time with your grandmother. I'm sure its valuable to both of you.
Thank you for your wise thought, Roger! Yes, getting addicted to it is definitely something I don't want to get! But with all the statistics UA-cam gives you, it can sometimes be hard not to let it "steer" you a little. And that's not how I want it to be! I want to be be me, to be genuine and post whatever and however I like! And at the end of the day, I think that's the best! I mean, so far it has given me very loyal viewers like you, which I'm so grateful for! 🙏🏻❤️
Well my dear friend please don't be shy with the way that you and explain how things are going with you there ok love to meet you and chat about things that you have been talking about to us all there ok love David in llandelo carmthenshire West Wales great Britain
Thank you! ❤️ I'm so pleased to hear my videos help you relax before bed! That means a lot! 🥰
Hello Daniel, ouffaa the algorithms are rough on all platforms because of the sheer volume of content. Keep filming what truly is you and inspires you. You're super talented in filming and communication. I know it sounds cheesy, but authenticity, like yours, ultimately pays off. xo
Hi Gioia! ☺️ Yes, there's so much content being uploaded all the time, it's hard not to drown in everything, haha! But like you're saying, being authentic and being myself, that's the only way forward! I believe that to be true for anything! Thank you for your comment! 🙏🏻❤️
Даниель удивительно добрый. Быть добрым - это дар. А невероятная красота природы дополняет и вдохновляет видео. Хотелось бы больше видео и перевод на русский язык.
Hi again Daniel Erik and thank You for the beach dance after swimming. It reminded me of another unique moment when I saw few weeks ago Mister Crane dancing a beautiful and sensitive baby making dance to his fiance - wow, I was brown away all day of the beauty of nature. They know how to behave in this Tellus planet, not potitics or businessmen. It was also like figure skating - watching it is my bigbig hobby.
Your videos become better and better every time! Technique, lightning, camera-angles and capturing the beauty on the nature. Congratulations. I have not made videos, but one of my professions is a studio photographer.
You are a true country/nature boy and I´m sure that You find the right place for You. Harmony is important and because You are so tender, maybe a community life is too tough for You. I can not stand/listen stories of hunting or fishing. I can not even watch a big tree being murdered. You spoke very wise things about trees and their contacts to eachother and mushrooms, etc. Thank You for that. I love to pick forest mushrooms!!!
Make clickable titles, it´s no sin, because You need the audience. You asked how we feel? Well, me and my husband feel now a bit tence, season is beginning in two weeks and then we work 100 days without holidays 100 hours a week and also take care of our four dogs, that is life!
I send You love and lightballs! ❤👍🏻🍀 And good luck to Eurovisions - Sweden and Finland might be the top two? Greetings Tomi 🇫🇮🇸🇪
Hi Tomi, I hope you and your husband is having a wonderful weekend! 🥰
I love dancing like that, haha! I do so many "quirky" things when I'm truly happy! Like dancing around, clapping with my hands/fingers and just being full of energy, haha!
Aww, thank you so much! I'm so glad to hear that you think I'm still getting better at filming and editing! And I'm just like you, I have a hard time even if a tree is about to get cut down! Unfortunately, they cut down quite a lot of trees here. It's a huge industry in Sweden... That makes me very sad, to be honest. 😔
Yeah, I'm gonna focus on what makes me happy, and then once in a while have a little more clickable title. To grab peoples attention, and then hope they stay for the content and the community here in the comment section! But the most important part is that I'll do what feels right and makes me happy. Without that, nothing else can follow! ☺️
Wow, 100 hours per week?! Is that even doable? How?! 😱 Oh and I didn't know you work with photography! How fun! What exactly do you do?
Beautiful video and lovely choice of music. I'm sorry to hear about your grandma, I do feel your pain. My dad has the third time cancer, which is incurable this time, he is going through a chemo and it's hard, horrible disease. I'm glad you are staying true to yourself and do all the videos you feel good with. Thank you for doing these beautiful videos, I enjoy the tranquility of them 😊😮
Oh, I'm so, so sorry to hear about your dad. That makes me so sad! I hope you still get some time with him, though! I just got good news from my grandma the other day! She still has cancer, but they can't see it anymore on the scans! That's such a good sign!! I'm hoping I get several more years with her!! ❤️
@@DanielErikthank you so much for your kind reply 💓. Time will tell. I'm happy for you and your grandma, lovely news🙏
So beautiful- everything! Thank you for sharing your experiences with us. And- the sound of the owl was an extra bonus! 🥰
Wow! Daniel, this is such a beautiful, beautiful place. The reflection on the water is breathtaking Thank you for sharing. 😀👍
And thank you so much for watching, and taking time to write a comment! 💕
How cool that you captured the sound of the owl. There is one around Siskola too but I have not managed to get it on tape yet. ☺️
Yes, it felt great when I got back in and could hear that the mic actually picked the sound up! I hope you get the chance to capture the one where you live! 🥰
@@DanielErik yes, me too! ☺️
Such a good video! I watched over the last couple of days, definitely can relate on many levels...looks so beautiful there!
Thank you so much! I think we're a huge bunch of people who can relate to the algorithm, haha! 😂 And yes, it's so pretty! Especially now when everything is in bloom! 😍
Hi Daniel. Another beautiful video. Keep moving forward I trust you will find your way. Have you seen Todd and Tyler videos on youtube from Canada. They are building a life in the wilds of Nova Scotia. And they are vegan also. As a 67 year old gay, vegan it is so nice to hear young gay, vegan men talking about their sexuality and life styles. It was not that easy when I was your age. But take care of yourself and I look forward to you next video. James
Hi James, and I hope you've had a wonderful weekend! 🥰 Yes, I've seen Tyler and Todd! They're really good! And such workhorses! 😂
I can't imagine how hard it must have been to be gay back in the day... I'm so glad a lot has changed since then! Even though it can feel like we're taking steps backwards sometimes, with so much hate winning power, even in politics.
Have a great new week, James! ☺️
Hello Daniel, I followed Jonna Jinton’s recommendation to your channel and am so happy and glad that I did. It matters not one iota to me about your sexuality. I am elderly, female and a widow and love to watch your beautiful videos - as I enjoy Jonna’s video. Your soul light comes bursting through and I thoroughly enjoy sharing the lovely nature of Sweden that you so expertly show us all. The Higher Power made us all unique and gave us each a different song and story to sing and tell. So - from me in the UK. Hello. You will fit into your community because you do not judge others. Thank You for being you and I, for one, will look forward to videos . With love and much gratitude to you from PD in the UK XXXX
Hello, and first and foremost; welcome to the channel! I also want to say thanks for being so nice and open minded! I can't wait to get to share more with you along my journey! Much love to you in the UK, from Sweden! 🥰
Been struggling lately with life. Moved to a new city to start a new life (which I really needed). I was so excited but now reality has hit me and its a quite lonely and lost path i’m on in my life right now. Watching your videos makes me smile and feel calm though. Thank you so much for that 🤗
I appreciate your honest and revelatory vlog of learning about yourself, now in the woods. It's an inner journey, as much as a geographic one. It seems like you took a big step heading out into nature, then started fine-tuning and evolving toward the next step. All perfectly natural! And it's good to seek out others for friendship, as humans are social creatures, after all. The biggest adjustment may be that of moving away from the lake, where you find so much solace and rejuvenation. But you are (always) right where you need to be at the moment.
I have visited Sweden and absolutely loved it. I’m watching because you seem very authentic and interesting! I am loving your videos. I hope your channel grows :)
In my six decades of life, I have come to realize that attempting to fit into society box is wasted energy and it is detrimental to creativity. In addition, the projecting of what if's is also counterproductive. I admire your vulnerability, do not change to fit the algorithms. Just be you. Your connection with nature is an inspiration worth sharing with the world. Finally, I love your choice of background music that you use in your vlogs. Much love from the Western US.
Much love back to you! 💕
Came across one of your older videos and really enjoyed it. Think you've come a long way from this in your confidence and figuring out who you are and what you want to put out there.
Truly enjoy your posts and always look forward to a new one. Think you've captured the same spirit as Jonna Jinton and the inspiration.
Keep doing what you're doing and being who you are. It's refreshing and wonderful.
Glad to see that you've found one of my older videos! There's quite a bit of them, that I believe people have missed! So I hope you find it enjoyable to go through them! 🥰 Also glad to hear that it seems like I've come a long way! I can still definitely have a lot of doubts though, but I won't let them stop me! ☺️
Thank you for such a nice and beautiful comment! Sending you a big hug! ❤️
Hi Daniel,
I can understand why you would have doubts about leaving the city, especially since it can be such a big change. But I think it's important to remember that taking risks and stepping out of your comfort zone is often where the greatest rewards lie. The anxiety and doubts may never completely go away, but they can be an indicator that you're on the right track and pushing yourself to grow.
It's also important to remember that it's okay to make mistakes and change direction if things don't go as planned. We learn the most through experience and the journey itself is often more important than the destination.
I hope that you find the courage to follow your dreams and make the move to the countryside if that's what your heart is telling you. And if it doesn't work out exactly as you imagined, that's okay too. Just keep pushing forward and exploring new opportunities.
Best of luck to you,
Hi there! Yes, these doubts definitely come up now and then, which makes it very scary... But just like you're saying, you can't win something without risking anything! And it feels right in my heart, so I will do my very best to follow this dream! 🥰
And even if it would end in a way I didn't hope, that I have to move back to the city or something... Well, then I'm a huge experience richer, and I'm sure it will have helped me grow a lot!
Thank you so much for your encouragement! May I ask what your name is? ☺️
Always enjoy your videos so much - even if I'm very behind in watching them. No way could I skip them 🙂. I'm sure it will definitely take some time to adjust when you move but I'm sure you will. As a fellow vegan I totally understand how the hunting/meat eating gathering would be difficult. Maybe that's an event you could attend after meeting people and getting to know them. UA-cam is so hard. My channel has not grown at all in the last number of years and my views have gone down dramatically. I think all you can do is keep doing what you enjoy and hope that the algorithm decides to be nice. I think creating a kind of click baiting title is fine so long as it's relevant to the content of the video. But it's something to be sparingly and not on every video. Love the photos from your photo shoot - what a magical spot.
Aww, thank you so much! That makes me so happy to hear! ❤️🙏🏻 Yes, I think that's probably the best way - to go to gatherings like that after a while, when I already know some of them!
Yes, that's what I've started doing! I'm not gonna try to chaise an algorithm, wasting my energy on such a "shallow" thing... I'm gonna create what I want to create, and hope people will love it! 🥰
Other than that, I hope everything is well with you, Libby!
The frogs are sooo cute!
Aren't they? So adorable! 🥰
Changes Indeed. 😮😢😊
I certainly can see why you would like to leave the city for a more simple life - the cabin in the woods is truly magical & so serene. I grew up in northern Minnesota in a small town and couldn’t wait to move to the cities, but now I almost wish I never left. I am thankful that my home is in the suburbs and has a somewhat small town feel. I’ve read that Sweden is considered one of the most vegan / vegetarian friendly countries in the world, but I suppose that’s mainly in the more urban areas. I hope you’re able to find a solution & fulfill your dream! ❤
That seems to be very common; someone moves to the city when they're younger, but then the older they get, the more they're longing back to their roots. How is it in Minnesota, is it a beautiful nature there? ☺️
I would. definitely agree that Sweden is very vegan friendly! There's something vegan everywhere! Even at the countryside I've never really had a problem finding anything vegan in the stores, big or small! So I'm not as worried about that, as I am about if we all can get along even though we have such different believes! 😅😊
Oh, what city do you live in now btw?
Hello, Daniel! I heard about your site from Jonna's videos. I have watched several of your videos and I enjoyed them very much. I appreciate your candidness, videography, music, and the way you invite the viewer on your journey for the moment - even if it is being quiet. You can do what you think is best as you choose your titles. Go with your instincts and the rest will follow. Your art speaks for itself! Wishing you all the best and I will continue to join you.🌟
Warmly welcome! Glad to hear you're watching, it means the world that I get to share this with so many wonderful souls out there! ❤️

What a beautiful and well crafted video! And I cannot imagine such magical content without all of you. The body of your work defines you. Titles are only a necessary part of marketing your work. They can generate interest, but it is the quality of the craft that keeps us coming back. The fact that your audience is growing is a testament to the body of your work. And is it really clickbait if the title and content represents the whole person? Would it not be unfair if there was a bias against your work if only for one part of you? I hope you can enjoy the creative work, and celebrate that the audience will love your craft for their own reasons. And I am excited to see how your story moves forward.
Thank you so much, I'm glad you liked the video, Kevin! 🙏🏻❤️ Yes, that's how I've thought when I've titled videos before, that it's to grab someones interest and then hoping they'd stay for the content.
And I'm sure I will still do that partly, but I think I will start titling my videos a little bit more as I want to title them, creatively! Even if that means I get a smaller audience, it's what feels right! And the audience I do have is so wonderful as it is! Like your nice comment right here! 🥰
Thank you so much for your words of encouragement! And I hope next week will be a good one! Can't wait to share more of how my story moves forward! 🥰

I think, and I’m only putting this out for suggestion, that the vegan vs meat eater is a bit overrated. What I mean by that is I don’t think you should feel like an outcast. The reason I say this, is that I recently had to change my way of eating, for health reasons. So now when I go to a huge function where others eat all the burgers, hot dogs, and processed meats, I sit quietly and enjoy a baked chicken, or maybe just a salad. I do this because I want to continue to live. I have no animosity towards those who enjoy the hot dogs, and I don’t try to sway them to my way of thinking. I just want to be with them, because most are my friends. So I adapt, but I don’t cave in. I think you will do fine. 😊
As for the titles of your videos, I agree….putting the word gay in the title may get you more views. I don’t know why it should matter. As you stated, you want to show us YOU, and not your sexuality. I personally believe it’s no one’s business what your sexuality is. I’m ok with anyone loving whom ever they want. As for getting more views per video, I’ve seen gays who really don’t put that word in their titles, and they get many views. So maybe it just takes time. You have a warm personality from what I can tell, so that will shine through. I know I will be catching up with the videos you have posted, as well as looking out for new ones. Thank you so much for sharing. It has been something I’ve enjoyed today. Be positive, and all will work out. ❤❤
Aww thank you so much! That means a lot! 💕 About the vegan vs meat thing, I would have no problem doing exactly how you're describing it! THat's basically how I'm doing right now in situations like that. What I'm worried about is how other people will be. That I will sit there in peace, and someone else feel offended by what I eat, even though I haven't said a word! It has definitely happened before! A lot of people get provoked by veganism, even if the one who's vegan doesn't say a word. So I'm concerned other will start a debate when I just want to have a great time. I hope that makes sense! 😅
I'm sorry to hear you had to change your diet! I hope you're not seriously ill? ❤️
Yes, it probably works without putting "gay" in the title, but it takes a longer time. But I've since stopped trying to chase the algorithm and just basically do what I want to do now! And hopefully people will like it for what it is! ☺️ I'm excited to hear you're catching up on my videos and will be watching the new ones! You will probably see a change in quality the further back you go tough! I was a complete beginner when I started! 😄 But it can be fun seeing the change!
Take care now! 🥰
@@DanielErik I agree people do pre judge others. It’s the same with pretty much anything that is different from the popular opinion. All I can say to maybe help you feel better about this particular situation is this: whatever anyone thinks about you, even though you have not done anything to harm them, is their problem. You can’t do anything to change their mind. What you CAN do, is be yourself. Maybe one day they will realize they were wrong in their assumptions. I hope that helps. I do wish you a wonderful day!❤️❤️
@@XanBos Thank you so much for saying that! That's exactly what I do and plan on to keep doing; being myself! There' not much more than that I can do! Thank you for that reminder! 🥰
32 LİKE very nice video 💯☕👍🙋🏻♀️
Thank you! :)
So beautiful, where is this
Thank you, Kyle! This is in Swedish Dalarna! But some of my videos are also filmed in Jämtland, which is also in Sweden but even further north. That's where I hope to live full-time eventually! Right now I'm living here in Dalarna part-time and part time in the capital Stockholm. 😊
Why don't you get some solar powered light strings for around the cabin so you wouldn't have to use the lantern?
I don’t want to cause any light pollution, is one reason! I want to be able to see all the stars as well as photograph them! ☺️ If I have light outside that gets ruined! 😊
Älskar dina snickarbyxor, får mig att tänka på Emil i Lönneberga 😊
Tack Camilla! Jag gillar dem också! ☺️
It is difficult to find the right target audience as a small creator on youtube. I have been stuck with almost the same amount of subscribers for a time now and most of my viewers are not subscribed. Some of them are older people who are not logged into the app. Many bigger channels use click bate titles but often it just personally gives me a negative vibe especially if they try to chock you with some drama to click. I would watch it even without the juicy title. I have also noticed that soon as I have my kids in the thumb nail I get less views. I really liked the thumb nail for this video!! Ha det bra!
Yes, same here! Seems like a lot of subscribers don't even find the videos after you've published them, since most viewers are not subscribers! And I agree about being clickbaity gives a little negative vibe. It doesn't feel as... genuine, I guess. How interesting that you get less views with your kids in the thumbnail! I would have thought it would have been the other way around... Ha det bra du med! 🥰
@@DanielErik maybe it’s because Yt doesn’t chose to promote the videos that have kids in the thumbnail. 🤷🏻♀️
I’m in the USA but if I were closer I would come visit you. 🌹🕊🌹God bless you💋I would definitely swim with you🫵🌹
So fun to have so many people from the US watching! I hope you're having a wonderful summer over there! 🥰
Hi there! I'm a big fan of JJ from Japan and it's nice to see your video.nothing else matter, just do what make you happy because watching you happy is enough to inspired a person like me.I don't care about gender I like person that do things they want freely.to tell you the truth I'm from the Philippines got married to my Japanese husband and just like you when I did come to my husband house and live with his parents there were lots and big differences and I had very hard times to make up myself liking the food taste.the people here used to eat wild boar meat and dear and we don't have that in my home in the Philippines so,i had struggles about that even today but,I had to imitate in front of my family here and try to eat every food they are eating to make things right.i'm living here for 34 years now and still having struggles about eating wild animals meat so,I understand you but to make things right and if you really want to live there my advice is teach yourself to accept the things you believe will help you enter the community.
Hi there! Thank you for such a kind and sweet comment! So great to have people watching all the way in Japan! I'd love to visit one day, especially since I'm a huge Nintendo fan! ☺️
I can definitely relate to what you're saying about the food and the culture! Thank you for your input and story there! 🥰
can I make a request? can you make a tour video of your cabin there?
I want to do that sometime soon, yes! Several people have been wishing for that! 🥰 I don't know when it will come out, but I want to make a video where I show you the house!
😔 I dreamed of finding a man to live with in country side. Chickens, goats, wood chopping, tending the food, creating a food brand based out of countryside to be sold in cities. Yea, I grew up in Dubai, UAE, I crave countryside with trees and birds in morning.
Hi there Adnan! I really hope you'll find someone to live your dream with one day! ❤️ And it sounds wonderful to have birds singing for you each morning! What a blessing!
Here are my thoughts: decide whether your channel is specifically about being a gay man living your dream, or about just being a man living your dream. What is your focus? If you choose the latter, then it’s irrelevant whether you’re gay or straight, you’re just Daniel, living your dream and people will love you either way. What does your sexuality have to do with inspiring people about the beauty of nature? I feel there’s a split focus there. Straight people making videos about anything don’t announce that they’re straight, and neither should you feel that you have to announce your sexuality. I hope I’m not offending you; I absolutely love your channel. I am actually Swedish but I have lived for 40 years in the US and my Swedish is rusty.
Hi there! You're definitely not offending me! It's just like you're saying, I'm just Daniel! My sexuality has and should have nothing to do with it! Putting "gay" in the title helped people find my videos in the beginning, but I don't want my sexuality to have anything to do with my love for nature etc. It's a part of me, of who I am. But I'm so much more than that, so I agree with you. I should just be Daniel, which is more than just "being gay". Thank you for your input! 💕
Au début j’écoutais parce qu’il y avait le mot gay mais par la suite c’était pour la beauté des images le lac la Forest les paysage d’hiver qui était magnifique ❤
Aww, thank you! I'm glad you felt like sticking around for the content rather than just a word! That means a lot! ❤️ Welcome to my channel, I hope I can bring some peace and hope through my videos! 🥰🙏🏻
🤗
Je regarde vos vidéos car elles sont magnifiques,et votre sensibilité face a cette nature est touchante,le fait que vous soyez gay ne change rien. Vous êtes une belle âme ne doutez pas de vous !
People watch you because you are an inspirational and aspirational gay. Reaching more people is what is important, so, if gay drives your numbers to people that are drawn to your calmness and authenticity, I say do it!
Thank you for the encouragement, Craig! 🥰 Maybe I will use the word "gay" more in the titles again!
The first video I saw of yours didn't mention you were gay until the end, to be honest, I wouldn't have watched it if I had known that ahead of time. Mainly because many gay people like to splash the fact that they are gay; constantly mentioning it and showing it outright. To me, what a person does in their sex life; gay or straight, needs to stay in the bedroom. Your content is so good, and I had such a good time watching it, I'm glad I didn't know that ahead of time, and I"m glad you don't make a big show of it. I think there is your good balance; occasionally mention you are gay in the title, for the ones who would be attracted to that side, but don't make a big show of it, for the ones who are not. And by the way, I'm sorry you're missing your friendship so much. Wish I could give you a big hug and a cup of tea, just sit with you and let you talk. I've only seen two of your videos so far, but it looks like you have good family, and I'm glad for that.
marlytate6914: Being gay is more than a "sex life," just like being straight is more than a "sex life." It is part of a personal identity, formed in part by the reaction of people like yourself. Gay people need to share in the examples of others who have found way to thrive in spite of discrimination from people like you. There is nothing wrong - and much necessary - in inviting other LGBT folks to find Daniel's channel.
Dear boy I watch Jonna's videos just because it's hers and that's what you need to do is make your name trustworthy to people
he is handsome and live in the nature 🙂💖
please dont judge yourself for using gay in your titles maybe gay people want to see your life that want the same as you but are afraid of how they would be excepted. So help them see its ok in any country its hard for gay people to come out then going to the countryside in any country smaller communities it must be scary till people get to no you not just your sexuality .Im a mother of two grown men and would be so proud of them doing what you are doing im a worrier of what people think but im very spiritual and an artist thats what sets us free and makes us different im 55 dont let it take you till your 50s to be who you really are and live from the heart your parents must be so proud of you Jonna is right you are very much alike and look what her life is like now she still found the love of her life and is living her dream life hard at times but what she craved.
much love to you be the warrior you came here to be live your love Xx
Thank you so much for this message! It can be hard to be gay sometimes, and just hearing someone say not to judge yourself for it, truly means a lot. Others do that enough already. Thank you so, so much. I'm taking this to my heart! ❤️
In don't think you know how big you are... You are so much more than gay... All Will come to you by beeeing you... Thank you for sharing so honest
Thank you! ❤️
Plis sotto titoli in italiano ❤
well, you have an audience, almost 2,000 subscribers.
Yes, it's starting to grow, which I'm very thankful for! 🥰 Back when I made this video, I think it was a few hundred! ☺️
As a gay man I must say yes, I deliberately seek out videos from gay creators so when "gay" is in a video title, it is easier to find. We are under-represented on YT so when I seek out videos on a particular interest (for example, full-time van life) I am most certainly interested in how my fellow gay folk tackle that. While I understand you don't want to be *just* thought of as gay, putting it in the title is a lure, so to speak, where you can hook people to watch your videos and then they will subsequently learn there's more to you than just your penis. 😀
Thank you for pointing that out! I've been thinking about that too, it's a really good point! So I guess I just want to find a balance! Some videos I'll title "gay", and others I won't! ☺️ That way I can get the gay community to find my videos, without feeling like "that's all I am"! ☺️ Thank you for your nice input! 🙏🏻
Hi Daniel, you had such a mysterious intro in this video, so pretty with the lantern 😊
We also struggle with titles and thumbnails, it can be discouraging that the whole fate of a video depends on this (not the quality itself).
Be careful with the gay titles, it can attract more viewers at first (mainly when you put yourself without clothes on the thumbnail) but then they usually don't watch nature videos, they expect more gay stuff and then they make the performance of a video worse (like clickthrough rate, watch time and retention) so the algorithm stops promoting it. At least that is our experience. There is not enough gay audience that likes calm life in nature to grow a channel big time, so to aim for more general audience there is definitely more potential in the long run.
Some time ago we made a video of us rambling about this if you are interested (it's long 😃) ua-cam.com/video/Tz57qdiwMAs/v-deo.html
Also don't be sad about your video about talking trees - usually short videos don't perform well in general - UA-cam doesn't like to promote them when the channel usually posts much longer videos. You can see that happening to other creators too, like Jonna - shorter videos don't do well (not talking about shorts). It's different with channels that only post shorter videos.
Thank you, it was a lot of fun - but also a bit creepy to film that, haha!
Yes! That's exactly what I'm imagining! If I title my videos "gay" my gut feeling is telling my that's what I will keep doing for UA-cam to not "turn it's back on me". And that's not at all what I want! Like I said, I'm so much more than just gay! That's just a percentage of my whole being! 😅
And what you said about shorter videos is what I started to believe now after I posted that video. UA-cam wants to make people stay on their platform, so the longer the videos, the better. Especially if most of your videos are already long! Thank you for letting me know! 🥰
Daniel,
Know what you wish for! If 1200 people would take your invitation and visit you it woud not be silent anymore….haha it would be crowded….lol
You know how fortunate you are? I see you get naked in front of your parents as if it is nothing and it is to you and you swim naked. Most kids never seen their parents naked and no parents ever see their kids naked again after 10 yo. You even dance naked, it was a joy to watch!!! I am happy to have grown up at least with one parent being this open too, my mom.
Seeing your relation with your parents and grandma is heartwarming to see
You go into the icy water and do not eve shiver and a bit of cold wind makes you shiver…🥰
Wow wow wow, you go in deep there, against that tree…..
You want “us” to form a community in here (youtube). But youtube is an open aquare forum, it is like you are on the biggest square in Stockholm and telling your stories, show your feeling, show your nudity. And people with the same feeling will listen to you and watch you. Some will walk away and some will get steady listeners AND watchers.
Tha hard part for you is to stay YOU, te be that beautiful person you are and not let negative comments or the amound of viewers dictate your content and your being you.
You said you are a city boy. And you are not, you grew up in the city, but there was a reason for you to leave the city. And Stockholm is a village compared with cities like London, New York, San francisco, or Bejing or Hing Kong, to name a few. But you are way to progressiv to be a country boy. The country side is conservative, they do thing the way they did it a “thousend” years ago.
For you it has to be the outsider on the inside. They (that village you mention in the facebookgroup) have to accept you as being gay and vegan and you have to accept them as meat eaters and “though”. That way you can change them little by little by giving the young people information they would otherwise not get. There will be gay people in that village, but they grow up to be str8, you can show them there is another way. Being gay is not a choice being vegan is. It is way harder to convince them there is a life after meat…lol or a life without meat. In their heart they are capitalist meat eaters, like it is thought to them. Their meat has no feeling and certainly no rights.
Facebook fits right in there. People share things there that fit in their society. I stopped with facebook because I really really do not feel happy in that facebook metropolitan. On the other side it is easier to create a walled in square with like minded people, but you first have to meet on another platform to confirm you are like minded.
Way to much tekst for youtube….lol But i Know you will read it all.
I hope you will not hate me for being blunt sometimes.
In this vid I see the sparkle in your eyes that I have missed (when you where with your parents
love and hugs
Very beautiful video, Daniel. I was so good to see you Grandmother and she certainly looks pretty well. I certainly understand your concern about UA-cam. Let me suggest a UA-cam Channel called "Happy, Healthy, Homo".. It was newly created by Keegan Hirst and Joel Wood, a gay couple in England. You might already be aware of them. Let me know what you think.
Thank you, Leland! 🙏🏻💕 Yes it feels so good to se my grandma smile again! 🥰 Oh, I’ve never heard of that UA-cam channel! Thank you for the recommendation, I’ll make sure to watch it this evening! ☺️
As far as you being vegan, my experience with vegan's is that they come off as arrogant or superior. You can go to the event, and take some of what's offerred and the hide it and dispose of it later. Barriers occur when people cannot see the other person's point of view. It's only a big deal, when YOU make it a Big Deal.
