Gains without the Cost
1.The new EZDisc Super Lite is as strong if not stronger than a disc wheel and any carbon cover "we did extensive testing through 2022 with a full carbon cover and found it to flimsy and delicate and with no weight adantage to the new Polycarbonate version" and when added to your own wheel the weight can be as light as a disc wheel. The EZDisc SL is only weighing around 300-500g, depending on rim size.
2.The EZDisc was tested at Silverstone Sports Engineering Hub, and in the graph on site "science page", you can see it compared to a top end disc wheel at 40kph. (The orange line is the EZDisc SL, blue line is a high-end full disc wheel). The lower CDA, the more watts you can save.
3.The EZ Gains team also went to the extent of proving that an EZDisc added to a good rear wheel can match a good disc wheel. The EZDisc SL actually rolled better with lower watts required using exactly the same tyre and in exactly the same conditions. 4.The EZDisc has also been proven to add structure/stability to the bike and acts as a disc wheel, also giving you the full whooshing sound.
5.Recent tests at Nottingham Trent University based in the UK have proved that a disc wheel can add stability in windy conditions “thanks to Parcour and Notts-Trent Uni for running these tests”.
6.When using an EZDisc outside this can give you a push effect from side and rear winds, adding aero benefits with head on winds giving you an average saving of around 2 minutes and 30 seconds over a 90k route, hilly or not. Outdoor tests were also carried out to show this.
7.You only have to buy one wheel! This saves a lot of money, and when travelling, you always have the option to take the EZDisc off if disc wheels aren’t allowed at the event you may be participating in.
So, in short it’s as fast as a disc wheel, stronger than a disc wheel, saves buying two wheels, it’s just an absolute no-brainer !
