Ahh! Finally talking about your statues. Time to start thinking about how to focus lines and sizes together. I would hesitate selling anything until you try to move the statues and see how they work together. Glad your focus is back on the statue collection.
Hi Chris! Imo, keep Sanity and move it to a pedestal. That amazing statue deserves to be seen up close and seen in the round. That way, it doesn’t “disappear.” Agree with you that Joker-on-throne replaces the Standing Joker. Standing Joker can go somewhere else or sell it. 😂Sean Murphy’s Batmobile stays where it’s at. The middle section, under the Batmobile can then house both the Batman and Joker busts. Love your collection as always! Especially, your original art!
The sanity piece would look nice at an entrance to the batcave, the unique look of the piece it’s best on it’s own. The joker/batman bust I would part with..
A collection changes everyday and this is why is so intersting to live ! It’s important keep this envy to always upgrade it PS : If one day you sell your Ivy PF I am here 😅
Chris - if the busts are part of your channel and deemed iconic then display them appropriately. Sell everything you don’t 100% like. Sell statues that don’t work with your must haves. Once everything is down to 100% must haves then you can reevaluate what’s next. At the moment you are distracted by all the noise and extra statues that don’t go. Spring clean time and live with some open spaces for a while.
More an action figure collector myself as well as some smaller scale statues that are most avlot of Kotobukiya bishoujo or Diamond Select . I do have a Vampirella that is 3 of 1969. Anyway I would say that I personally don't sell anything if I have space issues it does make me ask how much is too much for my apartment. If I did sell anything I would recommend that you give your collection a good look over and think about how much you actually like what it is in your collection and make sure that you don't end up regretting the fact that you sold something that in retrospect that you regret letting go. I know that we can't take it with us but why regret the decisions made along the way. Rearranging a collection can be tricky but it can also be fun. In the end only you know what is best for your own collection and even though it seems like you don't know what you want to do, just take your time and think it over.
It definitely gets tricky as your room fills up, and if you collect different scales, which I think most of us do... I recently just canceled a couple of pre-orders because I realized along with lack of space they just don't fit my collection as well as the other items I have on pre order...As for suggestions: I would definitely put the 2 busts back under your logo, as someone else suggested, but beyond that it's hard for me to say because your collection is so different from mine. Good Luck!
A table in the middle of the room with the batman by gaslight in the middle with all of the premium format villains around him with more of them then ever before that you have, basically bring back your signature display for sure they don't look as good together spread out on the shelves. It will also serve as your own kind of like massive sanity piece and you can then definitely sell the sanity because you will have your own premium format sanity if you like.
Love the channel. My favorite displays you had was the first one. I know the room was small but there seem to be a theme to the collections. What you have now seems more like a store display to sell items. I do not see any focus with what and how displayed.
Your thinking to much Chris, lol. Just keep your premium formats and other 1/4 scales there in the back space in the order you want them. Sanity should go somewhere else, maybe close to your Finch art wall if that works, maybe on a pedestal there as a standalone piece. Put the busta back into that middle lower shelve. They look fantastic. And you should have never sold your Arkham 1/3 honestly. They would have been so perfect filling this empty spaces on your lower 1/3 shelves. I can't get over that really. Arkham lower shelf, Comic upper shelf. That would have been the ultimate Batman Collector collection. Cheers buddy. You'll find your way for sure!
Put the 1/3 scale on one wall top / bottom shelf 1/4 scale on the other wall top / bottom shelf. Focus on making the display symmetrical and grouping pieces that make sense. Sell oddball pieces (sanity, joker mask bust)
I personally think it’s too many pieces. There is a point where it just gets busy and nothing much stands out. But that’s subjective of course, most collectors don’t have any issue with saturation.
I think you should just experiment with different placements of your statues/busts first. I think moving the Batman/Joker busts back to the middle would be best, Sanity should probably go up on a higher shelf or have a darker backdrop behind it, as ktiv93 pointed out. It gets kinda lost due to its placement and the colour blending so well with the walls. If you do have to sell anything, I think it would be the busts, maybe you can sell them as a pair. I lean more towards liking statues over busts though, so I'd be less broken up to see those go, I was more sad to see the Arkham Video Game statues go, though that turned out for the best I think. Same with the Samurai line of statues. Edit: Maybe move Killer Croc down besides Grundy? They seem close to the same scale and you could move Two-Face and Duella up with those smaller scale statues?
Sell Sanity for sure. It looked out of place (due to the scale) the moment you got it. I would move the Joker and Batman busts under XM White night. I would have every other shelf on the back wall reserved for 1/4 scale Batman pieces.
Ok so you have been struggling with this for a while. You need to put some of the 1/3 scales down low. There are a couple of them that will work down low and that will help to space things out. The PFs are too tight together, they need breathing room. Whatever you do you need to experiment. Move things around and then sit with it for a couple days see how you feel. You will get no where if you keep thinking about it, you just need to move them around and test it out. I move my collection around every couple of months to keep things fresh and to help showcase things that have been lower on the shelves giving the collection a sort of rotation.
Sanity must be displayed in Front of the Wall with the Finch-Art. If you keep the Busts, they need to be displayed in the Center under The White Knight - just like it was before.
Don't be afraid to put different sizes together. When they are all the same size they compete with each other and none of them stand out. Maybe look at some design books as inspiration. You could look at how Guillermo del Toro's "Bleak House" is set up.
Yeah the busts need to stay in the center. The Batcycle probably won't find a better fit than it currently has. I think that Sanity needs to be on its own pedestal. Maybe you could do some shorter pedestals to sit up against the front of the ones you already have up and layer those? Or maybe just put in some new tiered pedestal kinda setup and that could be the answer to some of the odd-sized pieces like Punchline and Two-Face. You may be right about moving out the top Joker...and maybe put the Joker throne in the center of that section...build everyone else around him. I would move Croc down opposite Grundy to balance that shelf out and just put whatever looks good between them. The Gotham by Gaslight piece looks really good...but it definitely needs a new home. Maybe move it to the shelf below and find a nice little corner somewhere else for the Joker mask? Like maybe the mask could have a tiered pedestal as well?
I would sell the old busts and Sanity. And move all Joker and Batman statues together. You say the busts are iconic to your channel, but I don't think any of your viewers do really care if you sell them or not, truly, you will not subscribers because selling any of your statues.
I hate to say it, but with the setup when you first finished all the construction, those bottom shelves did seem like a weird angle. So I get why you're having issues with what to put down there. You probably should have stuck with the stair like shelf that you had upstairs for the concept, but that is what it is. I agree on selling the Joker you don't need those two. And I think Batman sanity doesn't really fit with anything else you have so I can understand selling that. I was actually surprised you bought it. I think the biggest problem is it's just a lot of space and maybe more space than you need. So I still think that you should have everything around the room and the center should still be empty with maybe a couch or a lounge area. And then you could always have like a relaxed weekly channel episode of like Chris on the couch lol.
I feel ya'... I have a pretty substantial 1:7 collection of Ichibansho pieces. I tier EVERYTHING(my riser game is strong AF). I have to. That being said...the risers have really helped to create a dynamic scene. There's a sense of action there that's just not present otherwise. *If you don't want to downsize or rotate pieces, consider risers.
That’s always the dilemma with collecting isn’t it? Space! Lol but for real, also finding myself in this position. New stuff keeps on rolling and space keeps getting more and more limited. For me because i don’t live on my own, i already have a limit of space to work with so that makes it even more challenging. Going forward idk how i’m gonna continue.
I feel like Sanity should go in bat bike spot because it ties the theme or whole room together. Underneath it should be the batman and Joker Busts with the heads facing in different directions dividing the room. Then to the left of the Joker bust should be all the Batman villains and to the Right of the Batman Bust should be batman and all the heroes. As a side note that Joker doesn't really fit with Grundy, Killer Crock, Scare Crow, etc because those pieces look more realistic while he looks like a comic version. Man Bat will look great with killer Crock and Grundy.
I wouldn't get rid of any of them. Think about what happens when you do, you usually buy them back. The Batman and Joker busts should go under the bat bike piece in the center. Leave them there. The Sanity piece needs to go on a pedestal by itself. You have all that empty space below. All of your favorite pieces should be on the top shelf. What's left, space out on the lower shelf.
I don’t know how I feel about this. You have one of the best art pieces out there in the Batman Sanity and you might have to let it go? Because it gets lost in the hodgepodge that is the rest of the pieces? For me that’s an indication that a collection is starting to become cluttered.
I think maybe just space pieces out more. They don’t have to be cluttered together lost. Just maybe they look better standalone not packed together. All collections look like hodgepodge with different companies and scales, styles or what not mixed together. New pieces might be released that would look great with the pieces you think look lost. Who knows.. I wouldn’t sell a piece just because it doesn’t fit with anything. It doesn’t have to fit with anything. Unless you just want to sell lol.
You have all that room and spent all that money but lost as to how display it. Now you dont like the statues as much and prefer the drawings so tear down shelves and put up a gallery wall.
@BatmanStatueCollector Buy queens life size bale batman and have him surrounded by original art on a wall behind him it would look pretty neat. It's extreme but ultimately it'S YOUR collection.
Sale the Joker by Daniel and move the TH Joker back up top. Then put the busts back to the middle second shelf and no you can’t sale them they are iconic. Install a shelf(like in Dans old room) under the Finch Batman to display Sanity with the mugshots. Maybe instead of double staking the rouges line them all up in a row on the top and second row. Not sure what to do with the two Batman statues lol
This is fully thinking out of the box. What if you sell al your 1/4 statues and sanity and the busts. Only have 1/3 in your collection. I truly don't know how deep the line will go. But maybe TH 1/3 busts in the back shelves with the cgc comics and art books. And on all the shelves and pedestale only 1/3. Maybe an extremely risk move. But just want to give my advice
To tell you the truth I don’t understand the mindset, having to have a pice “fit in” with other pieces. Makes no sense to me, if I like a statue I buy it, I don’t care if it fits in with others. The busts you can put anywhere, put them on pedestals as you walk in the door, or either side of the desk. Put the Sanity in the middle of the room on a pedestal. This not wanting to mix scales I don’t understand, some of the best collections I’ve seen have 1/8, 1/7, 1/6, 1/4, 1/3 all in the collection.
Little bit of a tough one I will say if you decide to keep the sanity one you should put a black background behind it it'll make it pop more . The rest is a little difficult . Just thought I'd throw this out there why do you not have a single jnd piece LOL Also Have you gotten your prime 1 89 yet . I got mine it's pretty nice
Ahh! Finally talking about your statues. Time to start thinking about how to focus lines and sizes together. I would hesitate selling anything until you try to move the statues and see how they work together. Glad your focus is back on the statue collection.
Sanity feels like it should be in front of or next to the Finch art. I know that’s where your desk is, but that makes the most sense
That was my plan as well, but I got more art than I thought I would so Sanity would block some of it or have to go under the split unit.
Oh wow, you’re selling that Joker? That Joker is amazing.
I think some high res artwork behind the statues would look amazing.
Complimenti 👏👏👏
Thank you
Hi Chris! Imo, keep Sanity and move it to a pedestal. That amazing statue deserves to be seen up close and seen in the round. Love your collection as always! Especially, your original art!
Really appreciate your thoughts on this. Sometimes I just need someone else's "eye"
He's ran out of places to put artwork boys! The great purge begins!
Yep, I feel he is going from “statue collector” to “comic art” collector.
He's good. He just needs to buy an Art Portfolio. Lol
The sanity piece would look nice at an entrance to the batcave, the unique look of the piece it’s best on it’s own. The joker/batman bust I would part with..
Thank you for your thoughts on this!
I also felt the Batman and Joker bus were in the absolute perfect spot under your logo. Think about moving them back! It’s like the logo of your cave
I think you might be right, they did look good there!

Awesome.. whoaaaaaa, that batman detective❤
My favorite in the collection!!
I always photoshop my room with the pieces I want so I can move them around easier
Always a great plan!!

sanity should be by your finch wall, all the black and white would look great together

I think Tweeterhead's Two Face would look great next to the SS Penguin
I will try it out!

The Sanity piece need a better backdrop i.e different (darker) colour. Looks too bland against the similar coloured wall
Good point! I've actually even considered getting the color Sanity instead.

focus on lighting first. It will drastically change the look of things
😊
I don’t know how I feel about this. You have one of the best art pieces out there in the Batman Sanity and you might have to let it go? Because it gets lost in the hodgepodge that is the rest of the pieces? For me that’s an indication that a collection is starting to become cluttered.
I would happily sell every 1/4 PF before I even consider selling batbike or sanity.
You don't have the 1/4 scale joker on throne?
Tbh, less is more. Take everything away and then start back with what you love most and fill in from there
Keep the busts and sell sanity

Nooooo don't sell the Sanity or your busts find a place for them you won't find thos busts again and Sanity just need a backdrop that suits it better!
Thanks Mike I will take a look and try to move some things around!
