What we did and saw in Ischia - part 1

- Every year in the summer we take a break for a few days and head over to Ischia. A 2 hour ferry ride from Positano, the island is much bigger than Capri and much quieter too.
The ferry to Ischia leave Positano at 0900 and arrives at 1100.
The return ferry is at 1620. I would not advise trying to go and come back in one day, you would not have enough time on the island.
We stayed at www.relaisbijo... a beautiful B&B just 5 minutes drive from Ischia Port.
You are so lucky to be able to take Holly with you everywhere. The US is not so dog friendly.
I'm just watching this too. I'm from Australia and we can't take our dog anywhere.
@@carolinellewellyn4630 annoying isn’t it. I’m in Australia also and was surprised when I was in Italy in 2019 that dogs go everywhere with their owners.... wish we could do that here. My dog is better behaved than some kids 🤣❤️😂
NZ definitely isn’t dog friendly. My girls aged 8 and 12 were delighted to find themselves sat next to a cute wee dog on our flight from Paris to Florence on our holiday .
Hi, I am Italian and I live in Ischia, and this video happened to me by scrolling on UA-cam and I never expected one to make a video about Ischia.

We spent a day in Ischia. We ate in a very small restaurant on a back street. The waitress said she had a fish and rabbit. She told us she was born in ischia, raised in Connecticut. The rabbit came with his teeth intact. It was one of the most memorable meals we have had on our many trips to Italy. We had a lot of laughs, good food with good friends. It was a perfect day.
Such fun to watch, I was so engaged I could have watched forever! I jumped with you in the tunnels, kind of scary! My mothers family is from there and I have never been, so it's treat to see it. TY!

My FILs family is from Ischia. We visited Forio for the first time in fall 2019. Can't wait to return! So beautiful and close enough to Amalfi/Naples. Thank you for the lovely vlog~

Love the ‘pebble house’. We can see Ischia from our house on a clear day.
We can see it from the road to Piano on a clear day too!
So brave of you to walk though those hand dug tunnels in "The Rock House" on your vary next trip to Ischia after you experienced that earthquake the year prior 😳 lol ....on the other hand, that house is probably a few hundred years old and has survived all of the earthquakes and tremors in Ischia over the years, including the 1883 quake...the beautiful and crazy history of Italy - it's mesmerizing!
I love your videos! My daughter and I visited Naples, Pompei and Italy for the first time last August. She picked the spot out without telling me and bought tickets and everything. I was a little overwhelmed by Naples, but we had a blast. I'm thinking we need to go back and visit Positano, Capri and Ischia!

I had to laugh thinking of toilet paper made of pebbles. Imaging using something like that... Still, one has to give the owner credit for being consistent.

Just what I needed to give me a nudge and book my next Ischia trip. Roll on September. Love your Vlog! I love the quiet of Ischia Ponte, staying at Villa Antonio, which has the best view on the island (other than the Castello terrace. The stone house is a new one for me.... reminds me of the story of King Midas, just with stone instead of gold.
If it had been gold it would not be there anymore!

I would have thought it was obvious that the helmet and scooter were borrowed while on the island. I don’t tend to travel with my own helmet which fits perfectly, unless I am travelling by my own scooter.

I noticed you posted this video in June. I wonder if the music playing in the streets is related to the summer solstice. They do it in France. One year I was there at that time, and when I arrived in Lausanne, Switzerland on the next weekend, they had their summer music festival. I live in California, and there’s a few summer solstice music events in interesting venues, but not all over a city. Lovely video!

Ischia is another cue town, That house your toured made out of stone is something else. When you were walking through the first tunnel or cave I thought I saw a person head in a basket or something. There is no way that man takes a bath in that tub made of stone?

Oh my god, i love this video. That place with everything make of rocks was weird , and scary. I liked the hotel with the pool, the gelato and must of it , the food. I also enjoyed seeing Holly. By the way , how old is Holly? She is so cute.! 💝

Is in your opinion Ischia more worth a day trip than Procida? It seems there is more to see on Ischia however the views on Procida are tempting for me as well.
You cannot do ischia in a day. you need at least one night there. Procida can be done as a day trip

Without wanting to desrespect the owner of the house... surely there are some artistic creativity there, however the excess of it... it becomes quite bizarre the house decor and it feels claustrophobic and a bit creepy.
