@@sazzle3312 settle down sugar plum. I believe the riots are thanks to politicians sharing anti immigrant sentiment and also individuals who hold similar views. I also think this issue is a major distraction from the fact that politicians aren’t handling the economy well and that immigrants are a shallow scapegoating tactics to explain away the problem. I still stand by forms of cross cultural activity as a means to fight off division. There are also other strategies. For example people who commit mass harms are often found to be living in conditions of instability, social isolation, financial hardship and poor education among other variables. As a society we should look at this and ask ourselves what we can do to support these people before they end up harming others and it becoming the situation it is today.

Well done Richard, Tony and guys. We must re-learn the art of discussion/debate. It is a great place to start. We have always had immigration, which is normal. The problems we have now are the numbers and lack of control. Eventually your conversation went woke and you lost me. Claiming media might be pushing an anti migrant narrative….. 5% native population in Qatar etc.
Qatar is not a real country but more of a sovereign state with highly international links and trade. Qatar has no need for a Native population like a Yemen, a Syria or an England. I disagree that the conversation got "woke" from that point. They did not linger on the point of Qatar being a country of 95% foreign national citizens. Perhaps everyone assembled was well-learned enough to understand that Qatar is not a real nation, the same way Monaco is not a real nation but a principality astride France. The conversation is the best I've seen on the Rudakubana Riots from any major news channel or small, or any podcast. Rewatch this again my friend.
I agree. It was a brilliant beginning but eventually I got the feeling a lot was beginning to go unsaid and ironically, despite it being something mentioned-true feelings weren’t being voiced likely to avoid offence. A lot wasn’t said that I suspect needed to be brought to the table but couldn’t be. One person in particular began to “dominate” the conversation and this kind of choked out a lot of the free, sometimes uncomfortable conversation I think this difficult topic requires. I’d love to see another go at it however, this format was great and Richard, you were fantastic.
@@kc1973able no doubt. But a middle ground can only be reached once both “sides” have aired their grievances otherwise true, often legitimate feelings get repressed and this turns into frustration which turns into violence and “basic” primal/tribal thinking which doesn’t have time for nuance or empathy. Ideally peace will be reached, but this won’t be done by cutting corners. They’ve tried that. We’re seeing the results of it now. This podcast was fantastic, even if just to highlight how the (no doubt unintentionally) repressive dynamic between cultures functions.

I agree kellyedey - very subdued & inauthentic. The whole issue can be summed up as....'humans are tribal when intense situations arise where they have to compete for resources like control and power (safety) they will immediately start reducing to the basics - safety versus threat...friend versus enemy...right versus wrong' This video brought to you by Richard Grannon's fawn response to situations.
47:28 It makes me think of "cognitive disadence". Let's get people to think they know what's going on and then show them they don't know. It trains people not to trust themselves. Then how are they going to react. Are they going to double down or are they going to trust themselves less. Or are they going to slow down and wait for a bigger picture.
Premier League football is used for the same agenda. They will use these four dimensional angles of an offside decision to cause you to doubt your own perception of what just happened. As in, an offside looks certain from all angles until an angle suddenly eagles you in from the stadium roof eves and the defenders chest is playing the winger's foot onside. You are right too about the bigger picture. It allows the news channel to deliver a bigger picture the next day and to conclude people's minds for them; a conference of authority to the media outlet by a stepwise process of revelation. There are so many set-pieces in media manipulation and you want to spot as many as possible.
Thank you so much for this refreshing & inspiring diaxussion. At last we have an adult, rarional conversation around this issue. Much Respect to every one of you ❤
In America we used to have heroes who advocated for peaceful protest Often they gave up their lives as a result taken by evil people. As the world becomes more and more populated we are going to reach the threshold to which it cannot sustain life anymore and that is why we are seeing the growing unrest. Competition for resources has always been the reason for wars.
The mouse can only run off with the cheese when the dog and cat are fighting each other. Divide and conquer is the name of the game. Don't take the bait. Just because we have been handed a script does not mean that we must blindly follow it. We can not control what other people say or do, but we can always choose how we respond. The scriptwriters need an angry, scared and emotionally charged audience to participate in order to help bring their death cult fictions into reality. We have been conditioned to think that only politicians can solve our problems. Maybe at some point we'll wake up and recognise that it is our belief in politicians and authority which is the problem. The belief in “authority,” which includes all belief in “government,” is irrational and self contradictory; it is contrary to civilisation and morality, and constitutes the most dangerous, destructive superstition that has ever existed. Rather than being a force for order and justice, the belief in “authority” is the arch-enemy of humanity. (Larken Rose)
Unfortuately that does not fit the pattern. Logic removes plausibility, when you consider that one element overwhelmingly responsible for incidents against the other. Regardless of who put the elements together. That one element reacts in exactly the same way across the world is the issue.
Agreed. However, if both 'sides' of the divided to conquer groups don't agree what the problem is, nothing will be solved. One side enjoys their cultural victim status too much and respects women too little. So there is no motivation to address certain issues on their own side. So how are people on the other side supposed to protect their girls? I'm talking about problems going on for years, not just the latest incident. That's not something you can let slide in order not to 'fall for' the dividing narrative.
What unites people, what's the common value between people? This country has recently forgotten/disowned what it's culture is rooted in, so feels threatened by strong cultural identities in those who bring new culture in. The perpetrator mentioned was a child himself, not much is yet known about his influences but his parents were from a place where nearly a million were massacred in 100 days, exactly 30 years previously. We don't just adapt because we are in a new location. Some communities are so large that the host nationality is the minority, but treated as an oppressor, even children. What are our common values? Who is promoting them? Weak leadership causes angry, unsafe people, leaders without strong values or a sense of who they represent.
Richard I’m so sick of racism and hatred in the uk. Everyone I talk to turns the conversation to racism it makes my heart sink. Recently a girl and her mother were attacked by a British man…. Not a whistle about that. I was raised in a family that accepted everyone ( and no one), but race and religion was not an issue ever. My parent’s closest associates were Muslim, so used to them visiting and just being lovely people I can’t understand the mindset of racism. I am deeply upset by what is happening in the uk, I just want to leave but where does one go? The world has gone mad 😢 yes I agree they are just psychopaths who are hiding behind beautiful teachings to cause harm. I’ve said this for years.
Racism against white people is the most common yet not taken seriously so goes ignored and if you speak about experiences you just get laughed at. Why is making some people feel unsafe and uncomfortable okay when it's not others? Surely it should all be bad or its all acceptable.
Omg, iv just changed my mind about this debate. How can any of you justify that violence in Manchester against the police???. All them violant thugs had to do was report the incident of abuse to their elderly mother to the police and it would of been dealt with. Taking things into your own hands and battering police officers is a disrespectful no no and warrents long term inprisonment.
Ok so where did that “misinformation” come from? I absolutely despise that phrase. What happens if we find out the information comes from the top down?
I'm late to the conversation, but Richard is right when he says some of the rioters do want chaos. Our cultural division and social media adherence and dependency has made all of us crazy, so it only makes sense that the excitement seeking low level hoods through to the cold blooded psychopaths are going to be even more menacing. It takes a level of intelligence and even more patience to investigate motivation and do the Socratic style dialogue needed as times get more and more evil. People who have a stake in a sane and peaceful future need to make it their mission to decide if it's going to be through violence or diplomacy because it feels like every one of us is going to be on one side of that line or another. Most of us have lost hope AND faith in any sane governing body that can bring about a solution. I don't fault atheists when this kind of violence happens for believing religion does nothing but harm, but it is here to stay, so these incidents are only going to increase, complete with the misinformation, so we just can't afford not to think things all the way through, even if all we want to do is explode in rage. I love in an area that has high racial tension and is economy depressed and even when there isn't someone's bass rattling my windows or I'm not being menaced in the grocery store or I don't hear AR 15s going off every weekend I feel like exploding at least once a day, but the longer I put it off and the harder I think about the entire situation (why I am actually there, how they feel living there most of their life probably) the easier it gets and the better I feel. I'm never going to enjoy it, but the point is, you have to practice simple reason in these insane times. Edit: That's not to say I put up with someone actually attacking me or some blatant thing...nor should anyone. In the wider context though, we do just need to think.
AR 15s? So you are living in the states? Sorry to hear of your living environment/day-to-day experiences... it sounds challenging. But it seems as though you are implying you are not in this situation by necessity? If you don't mind me asking, what is it that's keeping you there?

Liberalism is nothing more than childlike emotionalism applied to adult issues.
Yes! This is what we need! Discussing the issues together to find out what is true! Thank you!
I cannot tell you the level of excitement I felt with seeing “CROSS CULTURAL” dialogue centred!!
This is what I like to see, it’s like an opportunity for understanding and conflict resolution. The world needs to see this model of applied to all sorts of issues honestly.
Oh piss off! Oh we will all come together now will we? This is not a racist or religious issue. Three girls are dead…. You can’t fix that with a conversation love. I appreciate your compassion, but there is something going on here that is trying to divide communities!
@@humanityandme 😂😂😂😂sugar plum, iv not heard that phrase for about 30 years, and I have to say it put a smile on my face.😂😂😂 Having said that, what are you talking about mate???? Having a poor upbringing and bleak financial situation doesn’t give anyone the right to murder children. So don’t try and excuse what happened because of economics, & questionable politicians. And I’m not scapegoating anyone… I’m directly addressing the fact that the mismanagement of our immigration system for the last few decades has allowed people to take advantage of our kindness. Which has lead to the deaths of many thousands of people you will never know the names of.
@@sazzle3312 I did not say that poor upbringing gives someone the right to murder but if you choose to project that idea I can not help you. I think he was questioning if illegal vs legal immigration had a noticeable impact on their personal lives.
What he needs to question is what impact immigration from extreme Muslims has had on a non Muslim country, such as Lebanon! We get our Muslims from extreme countries: Pakistan, Bangladesh, Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan, Somalia! It’s an ideological issue and a threat to the fabric of our society

Thank you Richard. So proud of your beautiful dialogue. Real people talking real problems.
A huge gratitude and thanks to everyone on the panel for earnest and courageous good faith communication... what a valuable exchange of thoughts and feelings that proves there to be solidarity in our humanity.
@@bringklarathehorizon spot on.
The time for middle ground is now and this podcast is what’s needed.
This podcast was fantastic, even if just to highlight how the (no doubt unintentionally) repressive dynamic between cultures functions.
thank you for making this dialogue happen!

Iv just recognised I’m shouting at my phone 😂😂😂😂
Just wonder, would all the chaos have happened, if the murder was, let's say, Chinese?

In America we used to have heroes who advocated for peaceful protest
Often they gave up their lives as a result taken by evil people.
@@EllaGreenn Nothing will change until we address the root cause of the problem. The migrants are simply a symptom.

There is no common values with Islam. Literally zero

This is a Mohammedan masquerading as a Brit.

@@RoonilWazlib011 oh it Is by necessity, but it is mostly my fault for a multitude of poor decisions that are too personal and would take too long to explain.
