Translation for this thing cause I've always wanted to know I really have the feeling we're going to the semi-finals. Possession back for Frank de Boer, Frank de Boer, plays the ball, brilliant to Dennis Bergkamp, Dennis Bergkamp, Dennis Bergkamp holds it DENNIS BERGKAMP DENNIS BERGKAMP, DENNIS BERGKAMP, DENNIS BERGKAMP DENNIS BERGKAMP Frank de Boer gets the ball to Dennis Bergkamp! He receives the ball perfectly and scores! With just 20 seconds left, Dennis Bergkamp, 2 to 1!
Rough translation of the Dutch commentary: Netherlands is gonna reach the semi-final, I suddenly have the FEELING [emphasis for strong feeling] that we will reach the semi-final. With ball-possession for Frank de Boer. Frank de Boer plays the ball... really well, to Dennis BergkampDENNIS BERGKAMP, DENNIS BERGKAMP takes the ball on no translation for the rest, capitals aren't big enough. Well at the end he says: I already said for 20 seconds: *DENNIS BERGKAMP!!!* But the first sentence is very telling of the way the Dutch experience their football, I always have that too in certain games, where you just feel like something special is about to happen (because of just reading the game, feeling your own players' as well as the opposition's mojo). I watched this goal live in a room full of Argentian friends I had met about a month earlier. I remember being pushed out of the room when I was celebrating (knowing it was over and we had won anyway, I think I took 5 minutes or so to quietly come back into the room and feel all embarassed because of my excessive celebrations while they were all heartbroken. but all was well in the end and we all had enjoyed a great game of football and a great WC. Until Ronaldo cancelled for the final because of 'food posioning' or something.
Uenbg man... what a way to live the game. I am Mexican, that WC was the one i have enjoyed the most. Luis Hernandez goal in the last minute of Netherlands vs Mexico was a great moment for me. On Dennis Bergkamp goal; i saw that game and the only thing i can tell about it is that, thats the most beautiful goal in WC history i have ever seen (even better than maradonas)
Zam Zam That’s not true, with different languages come different pronunciations and you focus more on those, also, foreigners (that don’t speak Dutch) don’t even know how to pronounce his name, thus they would be very biased if they read “there is bear cum” before they hear it and they would even hear it afterwards...
Just to add some context, the commentator just before the pass was saying "I'm getting this feeling that we're going to the half-finals" (insinuating that he feels there's a goal coming, something's about to happen) and considering the fact that he said that moments before the goal makes it even more special
This was pure brilliance. Three perfect touches. First touch catches the ball. Second touch defeats the defender. Third touch defeats the goalkeeper. A technical clinic
@@yuvalmerhav Exactly. This would be hard for 99% of people to pull off if they were playing in their back garden with a couple of friends, let alone against professional players. That first touch is just pure magic. Nevermind turning the defender inside out and then that finish. If you ever hear somebody crying about why footballers get paid so much direct them to this video. There's only ever a handful of current players who can produce this level of skill on such a massive stage. Millions of people play the game, whether it be professional or just fun, but you could count on your hands how many people would be able to pull this off. I'm not even Dutch or an Arsenal fan. I hated Bergkamp when I was a kid back when United-Arsenal were battling eachother to win the league every year. But I respected him. I think a lot of people have zero idea just how difficult this actually is.
@@roryslaine7896 they get paid to much, wheter its a skill or not they should never earn that much money compared to the other workhorses in the work field
What a goal. Fantastic. Almost 21 years ago...21 years after and this goal still amazes me. Pure class. One of the best goals I ever seen, from one of the best players ever.
I am a Dutch supporter and was too busy celebrating and being in awe at how Spain was being humiliated to notice the similarity between Robben's goal and this one from 1998. I recently watched the game again (Spain vs. Holland) and that's when I noticed the similarity. But I thought it was just me.....now I'm going to go watch Robben's goal again with an even more observant eye :).....
Diego R FGonz It was a little bit scrappier - Bergkamp used his right foot on each touch, whereas Robben switched to his left - but it was remarkably similar.
This particlary pass, such a distance, defenders around you, quarter finale world cup. Who else had the skills to finish this? And i hear you thinking and indeed there are a few, but then youre talking about Zidane level. This is high level. High
@@maibhassin Well i believe it is because they were never successful at their clubs. The whole generation has won only 1 champions league at the start of their carriers at Ajax. But besides honours their skills were absolutely world class without any doubts.
Came here after the commentator mentioned about the last minute goal in 1998. Took mw down the memory lane. A very similar last second goal by the Dutch today. They lost in penalties though. But an amazing game though. Thank you both teams for a great display of football.
Good on ya mate. That's what footballs all about! Doesn't matter where you're from, we all love the game. I'm from Ireland and when I was a kid Pablo Aimar and Batigol were two of my favourite players.
So thats what the commentator says: "I can feel we will go to the semis" just before Frank De Boers stunning assist, and Bergkamps Godlike act of divine football perfection-goal...

When some one mentions “Dennis Bergkamp” this is the 1st goal I think off. And then I remember the goal against Newcastle.
yes the goal against newcastle pure magic
@Alexander Harris 1 against leicester? He got a hat-trick that game, and whilst the last was amazing, the other 2 were still pretty good.

Maravilhosa a emoção que o narrador passa pela alegria de seu país fazer um gol tão importante, lembrei desse vídeo e quis deixar esse comentário
Watched this live. One of the best games in the 1998 world cup. 20 years passed, still seared into my memory as one of the best goals ever scored by Bergkamp, or anybody else.
Same. We'd always mute the TV and have the radio on so we could hear Jack v. Gelder do his commentary over the boring Dutch TV commentators. 100% one of my favourite world cup memories.
I did not notice so clear who scored the goal?
Dennis Bergkamp

Brilliant
This goal made me fall in love with football and to this day, the Dutch are my favourite team.Thank You Dennis Bergkamp!!
I am so privileged I saw Dennis scoring every other week at home in De Meer scoring similar goals like this.
Translation for this thing cause I've always wanted to know
I really have the feeling we're going to the semi-finals.
Possession back for Frank de Boer, Frank de Boer, plays the ball, brilliant to Dennis Bergkamp, Dennis Bergkamp, Dennis Bergkamp holds it DENNIS BERGKAMP DENNIS BERGKAMP, DENNIS BERGKAMP, DENNIS BERGKAMP
DENNIS BERGKAMP
Frank de Boer gets the ball to Dennis Bergkamp! He receives the ball perfectly and scores! With just 20 seconds left, Dennis Bergkamp, 2 to 1!
Rough translation of the Dutch commentary:
Netherlands is gonna reach the semi-final, I suddenly have the FEELING [emphasis for strong feeling] that we will reach the semi-final.
With ball-possession for Frank de Boer.
Frank de Boer plays the ball... really well, to Dennis BergkampDENNIS BERGKAMP, DENNIS BERGKAMP takes the ball on
no translation for the rest, capitals aren't big enough.
Well at the end he says:
I already said for 20 seconds:
*DENNIS BERGKAMP!!!*
But the first sentence is very telling of the way the Dutch experience their football, I always have that too in certain games, where you just feel like something special is about to happen (because of just reading the game, feeling your own players' as well as the opposition's mojo).
Uenbg any chance you can write the commentary in dutch ive been looking for it for months
thank you so much
Uenbg This is my favourite goal-goal commentary combo of all time :D
LE : when the american commentary starts, I stop the video lol

DESTROYER DESTRUCTION underrated comment
😂I can’t hear ‘there is bear cum’, because I’m Dutch.
Zam Zam That’s not true, with different languages come different pronunciations and you focus more on those, also, foreigners (that don’t speak Dutch) don’t even know how to pronounce his name, thus they would be very biased if they read “there is bear cum” before they hear it and they would even hear it afterwards...
roy fecking keane You don’t see your ignorance, do you?
A Bear came
Just to add some context, the commentator just before the pass was saying "I'm getting this feeling that we're going to the half-finals" (insinuating that he feels there's a goal coming, something's about to happen) and considering the fact that he said that moments before the goal makes it even more special
This was pure brilliance. Three perfect touches. First touch catches the ball. Second touch defeats the defender. Third touch defeats the goalkeeper. A technical clinic
Beautifully said. This is much harder than it looks.
@@roryslaine7896 they get paid to much, wheter its a skill or not they should never earn that much money compared to the other workhorses in the work field

today netherlands won 5-1 against spain and Robben´s goal reminded me of this great piece of art
Yep, mee too. I think Robben's goal will be the best this year !!!
Robben or Rvp's goal...?
Soldiertjj Yeah Rvp's goal was even better, it was ubelievable...
High
well said
Bergkamp was as good as Zidane. Perfect first touch.
you're right, idk why but lots of good dutch players never get the recognition they deserve.
Aalt Koopman well tbh this is a goal I would see zlatan make
@@maibhassin Well i believe it is because they were never successful at their clubs.
