  • In this video I attempt to hurt myself by learning the almighty jump start. Luckily I didn't die and can successfully land it!

I blew out my ACL by just watching this 😢

Funny enough (not really) I'm working through a knee injury right now, but not from foiling. Although foiling, in my experience, has no knee impact luckily.

Looking great, all my attempts are still with both hands on the board and i can't get the "push the board and jump on it" working at all.

Using both hands for me has never worked and can be dangerous as you are much closer to the board. Balancing on your hands is much harder than your legs in my experience.

Lol - love that first try. Coming from surfing the balance is so weird on these.

I'm paranoid about an injury from the foil, or prop on an efoil - have you had any injuries or close calls?

@mattkeller5388 No real injuries, just a few bruises from hitting various parts of the foil. Hitting the efoil has only really happened from breaching on glassy water and not knowing how high up I was. Avoid glassy days when learning on any foil in my opinion. A helmet would also be smart.

How come you've decided against the 1401?

While the 1401 would be great for the marathon pumping that I want to do, I just think the 1180 will be an all around better wing for speed, carving and ease of pumping. I still want both wings though! The 1180 will be here next week so I'm super excited!
