I was scrolling through all the wingspan solo vids looking for one to learn from and when I saw this I thought to myself ‘oh phew Liz has already made a video’ and it was just as excellent as I expected it to be.
Love your clear overview of the game at the start. Great model to follow when I teach the game to others. Thanks also for showing how the automata works. Gives me more confidence to try solo!
Strong work, Liz. I'm trying to learn this solo and...my brain just does not want to grasp the basic flow across three-THREE-rules books in the box. Very helpful. (I have also noted that feeding the tower one-handed almost always spills a fifth die. Ha.)
I've played this solo automa game at least 8 times (on easy no less) and have only won twice - it is a definite challenge, but my losses have all been very close and my wins have been very hard to come by. This challenge makes the solo variant just as fun as playing with a group. Totally recommend this game for people who don't mind playing solo!
Thank you! I just finished my first solo play and successfully beat the automa (granted, on the easiest mode). Ready to step it up and see if I can beat it in the medium difficulty!

Hi Liz!, Liked and subscribed. Do the 2 eggs off to the side not count for the Automa?, that would make it 3 eggs to the Automa + the based value of 1 = 4?. Or am I messing up somewhere?.
Love your video ,quick question, im playing solo and my pink power says “when another player lays eggs this bird lays 1 on another nest” since I’m playing solo and the automa isn’t a player do I just ignore this power?
I’m trying to understand what winning looks like in this solo game. So it’s your points vs the Automa? Are the points difficult to calculate? This looks like fun to play, but sometimes I get confused when having to add things up in a game which can sour it for me.
I like watching your playthrough, though I have one question. - Do you immediately refill the available bird cards after the Autonoma removed them or do you refill starting a new round (as described in the multi user manual). Thanks and happy gaming!
Bram Warrens If I understand you correctly, both. The “market” will refresh after a player draws cards on his or her turn, so you also do it after the Automa draws. Additionally you do a generalized refresh between rounds, or at least I am 90% sure I read that in the rulebook...

It's been a minute since I played this, but if I recall correctly, some of the Automa cards will tell you to activate pink powers.
