No it's dumb you start on one of 3 teams wolf village or tanner then after the night you could be on any of these teams so the goal you had doesn't matter anymore because you don't know who's team your on.
The Tanner hates his job so much that he wants to die. The Tanner only wins if he dies. If the Tanner dies and no Werewolves die, the Werewolves do not win. If the Tanner dies and a Werewolf also dies, the village team wins too. The Tanner is considered a member of the village (but is not on their team), so if the Tanner dies when all werewolves are in the center, the village team loses. The Tanner is not on the werewolf or the villager team.
She’s used to getting the hang of new characters and what they do. You just need to engage the part of your brain that deals with meeting new people lol
Great 3p game... it's counters the 2 werewolf 1 villager perfectly with the other mechanics. As long as you use a setup where: In the case of the instances there's 2 werewolves the remaining player is a robber/drunk/ or other card swapping class around 50% of the time also, this disincentivizes the two werewolfs to just blindly team up. You can raise your win rate ABOVE 50% only by engaging to the social deduction. Nearly all 3p setups keep this roughly around 50% chance.. meaning it's a great balanced experience. Kudos to creator.
We played this game for grad this year only using a regular poker game set, then simply defining the cards on the board. None of us knew truly about this game then, but it was fun watching 12 near-adults go at each other during the discussion sections while you sit there witnessing the chaos you create by one murder of a complete stranger you just met
I was thinking the same thing but it turned out not to be an issue... my son turned out to be the robber...... he is apparently VERY quiet. We had no idea he'd moved anything around until we looked at our cards later.
This game feels like it's all down to random chance of who gets their cards swapped. How are you supposed to figure out who the werewolf is without attaining information over multiple nights. You're down to the mercy of the seer looking at a werewolf card and that card not being swapped later. Is there actually any strategy to win, or is it all just luck?
If the narrator says "you may..." does that mean the players don't have to do their night action if they don't want to? For example, the robber doesn't have to do his night action but the drunk has to.
@@Debbiebabe69 yup; döppleganger, minion and the masons also have to act, insomniac doesn't. werewolves have to wake, but looking in the center is optional
At 1:00 I have a question.. so when it’s the minion’s turn, does the dopple minion open their eyes too? The minion and dopple minion would see each other or it’s only the minion who has their eyes open to see the werewolves thumbs?
@@wildflowerldr Doppelganger wakes up and finds his role. If the doppelganger is a minion, he stays awake, otherwise he nods off. Wolves put up thier thumbs. Doppelganger-minion goes to sleep. Wolves wake up, look at each other, then nod off. Actual minion wakes up, wolves put up thier thumbs, everyone puts thier thumbs down and goes to sleep. So, the doppelganger-minion knows who the wolves are, but does NOT know who the other minion is. He also has another benefit - if he is the troublemaker, because the doppelganger-troublemaker swaps cards BEFORE the wolves reveal themselves, if he swaps a wolf out he knows who is the new wolf.
I have a question: Can characters like seer, troublemaker or robber,... choose not to perform their functions at night? or they have to use their functions
No, they don’t have to. But it’s beneficial for them to do so so they have an advantage of what they saw. If they chose not to to their role it can become harder on the villager team
Robber and Troublemaker have the choice, they may choose to swap or not. Drunk and Doppelganger MUST do their action. Wolves and masons MUST reveal themselves at the specified point. All other cards there is no reason not to do their special move.
Dok If players realize and confirm all of the werewolves are in the center, they can decide to kill no one (everyone pointing in the same direction so every player gets only one vote thus no one dies), this way the Village Team (everyone in this case) wins.
That happened to me , my sister and my cousin's whole family. No one knew who the werewolf is until we looked at the center pile and saw both werewolves and the minion. Apperently , the seer , who was my uncle , looked at my card instead of looking at the center pile. So yeah
That happened once when I played. I think I was the Minion, and no one won because we couldn't decide who the kill and I guess I actually won because the werewolves won.
Can you lie in this game? Example: if im a seer and i look at my right hands player card can i say i looked at my left hand player card even if its a lie or am i supposed to tell the truth
I think the reason why this game is confusing to a lot of people is because of one poorly designed part of the game: the team you are on can be switched without your knowledge. It makes the entire game too random and pointless when you can play your role perfectly and then flip your card over and it turns out someone switched it and you would've been better off playing badly. Makes no sense and the people can tell.
This was my issue with the game. It all seemed like random, blind accusations because no one actually knew if they were a Villager or Werewolf. The game seems to be missing something. Very much reminds me of Town of Salem but ToS didn't have this random component to it.
@@serza7254 "Or when ur a werewolf claim thief or the other switchers...". How do you ever know if you're the werewolf though? You may have started as Werewolf but you don't know if you were switched. You're operating with zero knowledge of what team you're actually still on.
