It’s super tricky with so many variables almost to the point of blind luck unless youre paying very close attention. Looks like tons of fun!
I love this game XD I won as the tanner and I also won many times with the werewolf and i manipulated people to think i was werewolf so i can shoot the person i thought was wolf cause i was a hunter also oof. I played this at camp and it was such a blast.
The main goal is to evade any suspicion of you being a werewolf, period - it’s tough because if you have a guilty conscience you are more apt to get killed no matter what. The guy on the left asks a good question right off the bat, like asking the “seer” what cards she saw, which she doesn’t have to answer or lies (she tells the truth in this video, or you could say there was a werewolf in the center to mess with people) The other people ask the others who claim X Y and Z roles pertinent questions according to their rules, and if they are actually werewolves they have to come up with really good lies. It goes like this until everyone votes, and typically you set a time limit to argue because it can go on forever. The social clues to look for is protesting too much, typically defending yourself too hard is a giveaway, but also if you are good friends with who you’re playing it’s tough to tell if someone’s throwing you off especially those who know they are werewolves and working together. The card switching can really mess it up though.
I've only played the original werewolf with no coins and switching of cards. When everyone knows who they themselves are, it's more about deception and role playing. Last night, for the last game the moderator put in a twist. Were 7 or 8 in the group, and all but one player were villagers, so the lone werewolf claimed to be as well, because everyone else did. He won, because no one could safely claim to be seer or spellcaster or anything else xD
The one night version is about deception as well, but also information control. Since you are not sure what you are anymore, you need to be careful about what information you reveal to always allow you to have a way out.
