Your Mom is doing very well. I just love her positive attitude. For a newcomer to a foreign country, she seems quite relaxed and ready for an adventure at this stage in her life. You couldn't ask for more. Also, you are taking very good care of her and are to be applauded for that. She is lucky to have a son like you. I believe she will fit in just fine and be a great addition to your ongoing tales and travel stories about Thailand.
The before and after of your Mom is already a drastic change ( no insult to your Mom) she is looking so much better since the move. I love these videos with your Mom, they show from a new arrivals perspective and are honest and real. I have been thinking of moving to Thailand as a single woman when I get older and these videos give a view what that might be like.
I am so proud that I have been one of your oldest subscriber and not regretting that I did as I knew from the start what kind of person you are! Like I said before you are such a wonderful, caring and thoughtful son to your Mum. I have been watching your videos and lately with my teenager son. It must be a bit hard for American mummy Kara to be in a different country with such a different culture. But she’s so lucky to be experiencing the life in Thailand with you guys. I’m looking forward to seeing her everyday and watch her progression. Your mum look young for her age and I won’t be surprise if she might be able to find a new love in Thailand. So excited for her to have her own space and to do her own thing as well. I am so touched by your care for your mum and I wish my son would do the same for me when I get older. We truly miss Thailand so much and wish to travel there again soon. Give our warmest love to your mummy Kara and to your Thai family. Love always from your Filipino subscriber here in Japan x
Chuck, your Mum is an absolute trooper. Up for trying new experiences and going with the flow. Great to see your relationship with her, and what a simple but great gesture from the hatman, buying a snack for your Mum. Best wishes to you all.
Hi Chuck, Kara & Paige. Nice to see you all, and your Thai neighbors are so friendly. Soon Kara will get used to the environment and be living a happy life there. Best wishes to her. 🙏🙏🙏
Your mum looks great. When she moves into her own place, she will be fine and get into a routine. It may seem a bit daunting at the moment, but your mum is so lucky that she has such a caring son nearby. Have a great day Jeff
You , Gift and family with Moms cooperation and effort , I think will increase her quality and years life for many more to come ! Nice to see your progress , Enjoy ... Thank you for sharing ...
Can easily do up Kara's room (change the curtains to white etc) to make it look like the one at the hotel if needed .. Installing a lift might be a good long term investment ..
Thanks for the suggestion. I'm not quite sure my mom's ready to stay in a room the rest of her life or in one place for that matter not quite the reason to move to thailand, and start a new life.
Hi Chuck, good to see you doing your morning ritual with your mum - it's so quiet there. I suppose it's early morning where you are - lunchtime here in nz and temp is 14 🥶
Lol, your mention of the temple festival and the magical reduction in the fish population, reminded me of about 25 years ago something I heard regarding one of the Universities in the UK. Without needing to target a particular nationality, lets just say that there are students from many Asian countries that come to study at British Universities. The commencement of the new academic year, also often coincides with the gradual reduction of the population of ducks on the ponds in some of the campuses, until such time as warning notices and fliers are put round that the ducks are off limits. :o)
As always I’m so happy to watch your videos ! Happy God blessed days. God bless you for bringing your mom along ! I lost my mom young! I wish I had her to take around, like you!!!
Hello Chuck,Kara and Paige.Your mum’s charms have already won over the friendly locals already 😉.Hope your dear mum’s health and happiness continue to flourish during her time in Thailand. We have no doubt your mum will gradually learn to adapt to the heat, humidity, the cultures and the Thai people. We have much love, respect and admiration for your wonderful mum for having made such a great life style change- moving from the USA to Thailand at 70 years of age for a better way of life.Hope things get better from here onwards with the help and love of her wonderful devoted son.Hope to see more travel adventures with you, your mum and Paige.Take care, stay safe, stay happy 👍🙏🏽😁😒
Good morning Chuck, Kara & Paige. Your mum's move is daring to be different, she goes above and beyond....the pace is slow at TP...but a retire life goes like this....regards from Kuala Lumpur Malaysia 🇲🇾...
Thank you for the positive comment, yes it is best to just live life by the day and not be consumed by what ifs. The healthiest people on the planet don't live forever.
Hey Chuck, it looks like Kara is kicking butt over there. The short time she's been there you can see the marked change in her for the bettert. Great to see!
Hello Chuck and Paige! Go Kara go! I envy your resolve. No doubt you will surprise yourself with your progress. You must reward yourself with regular massages!
Your mom is looking so good and getting around great. The food, warmer climate, sage from falling U. S.,so glad she is here. It is such a slow progression you all may not see but from just a few months look how much better she gets around. I got an idea for exercise, maybe you can find a nice three wheel bike that you and your mom could go on. The bike would help her not step in holes and fall, see more territory. So glad your all together and here. Hello mom from Laos, friendship bridge.
What a great video your Mom is so easygoing, of course she would be welcome in That Phanom. The Vietnamese hat maker seems like such a nice guy, and of course I love "Captain America" LOL!
Another great video you are doing so well mum.Do enjoy your shopping day that what I like shopping lol.you are doing brilliantly with your daily exercise well done.Hi to Chuck n Paige enjoy your day god bless you all ❤️
Kara is doing great with her work outs! Keep up the good work, it pays off big. Paige is so funny when she said, "You need the exercise.". I'm glad everything is going so well in Thailand for Kara and you all.
Seeing that most of our time is spent traveling I don't think it would be convenient for us or the dog and very difficult to find places to stay. The temporary dog is just fine.
Your mum is look so good. She is such an inspiration. Chuck what is the Huskys name and also the little black dog. They so adorable. Love ur province where u and Paige live💓 love to everyone
Mom is doing great. After the workout a few times up and down the stairs, she’ll be sore but in no time it’ll pay off. Best of luck. Still have the knick knacks for you, Paige and Mafia. I’ll be back in January but not sure if I’ll make it up north. Maybe I’ll just mail. Take care my friend
In the northeast of Thailand the people are so nice and polite. Even to strangers. I really like it there. It just happened that I have been to That Phanom, the big temple and market. Really nice there. Definitely recommended to visit for every one who is around the area. -Tian
perhaps you can do some lighting improvements for your mom and the shop house. I changed out a lot of fluorescent lights with LED lights. Simple replacement and you can get slightly "warmer" color. I like daylight color. Instant on and very cost efficient. Existing fixtures work--typically you just remove the starter. Panasonic brand.
actually may not be panasonic--I can't remember but lighting shops in your town will know and have--just check on process of changing and follow directions.
It is so wonderful that Thailand has so many opportunities to use workout equipment - gratis for healthful purposes. They seem to be promoting health and wellness. It's too bad that this is not as available and promoted in the US. Of course there are gyms and health clubs, but not workout equipment available roadside and in parks for people that can't afford to join and pay for a gym. Judging by your videos, the people in Thailand don't seem to be as overweight as here in the US!
Not to be so negative, but I find it refreshing to know I don't live there anymore, When I am Back in the states and someone has TV on Almost every commercial is about medical drugs or A lawyer to get your pay day...
Really need to see mum communicating with Mafias. Sure will be and awesome time for the duo to start devicing alternative to comprehend each others Lingua Franca.
We are studying for our online masters degree. Should be done in a couple days. Soon will be able to afford to rent our own house, we can sit in there and watch other people on the computer screen and let them know how much better we are than they are....
PS thanks for sharing your mum with us Chuck...I lost mine early at 60 and im sure had she had the opportunity she'd be doing exactly what your mums doing!
Hi another great video, I NEED one of those mattress toppers, where do you get them? Ive just been to Thailand for 4 weeks and have come bact to Australia to sell up and move there my wife is Thai and she wants to go home so hopefully will see you one day for a beer ..
Hi, Chuck, Paige & Kara I enjoyed your video. The hat guy is a cool dude and he knew you were coming. I think the word is chiasmus (gossip) it won't take long to get about. Kara you are making great progress if you keep this up in three months you will be like wonder woman haha Take care One and all, GOD Bless you and yours. M
Mum's gonna be whacked after that workout and then a walk! You want her to sleep about 3 days?! 🤣🤣🤣 Really, I think she's going to be completely transformed in a couple of months! Brilliant! 👍
This is my two cents... you should stay with the family that way you're well taken care of and you won't get bored because you'll have somebody to talk to instead of being alone in some apartment.
Thank you for the suggestion. I don't think Mom is in any type of condition to where she can't make her own choices. I don't think her choice was to find a place and just sit there and stare at the walls.

Those Vietnamese hats are the absolute best because they don't sit directly on the head so allow for air to circulate and keep you cool.
Yes very much talent goes into those hats. Must have a lot of patience to make.
