    This is really a very clear story. But you don’t need to dismantle the complete righthandside of the fairing. To get to the PCV at the right side under the tank, you only need to put the tank in upright position, and disable the small peace from the righthand side of the fairing. Then you can stick a plastic hose on the outlet and open the PCV with a wrench(8) good luck.

      I didn’t even raise the tank. Just removed upper fairing bolts and eased a shamfered piece or 2x1softwood between the tank and loose fairing then twisted the timber to create a 2” gap just big enough to get your hand and spanner in to fit the hose and open the bleed nipple.

    Thanks that was a good help. I read the workshop manual then watched your you tube . Gave me confidence to do a job I really did not want to do. No problems, I just took my time.Thankyou

      And that is exactly how you should operate. Use these videos as a complementary guide to your manual.

    thanks for taking the time to do this. I am sure it will help me when I do this tonight. I am no moto mechanic but love to do things myself.

    When bleeding the centre nipple on the rear caliper ( 6.48) you said pump the rear pedal, should this not be the front lever being squeezed?.

    I have used a vacuum bleeder before and determined that I got bubbles from air being sucked in around the threads of the bleeder. If possible, I prefer to pump the fluid through the system using the pedal and lever. I do not have a linked Honda system. Maybe it is necessary for that.

      Undo the nipple a few turn and coat with copper slip to stop the air getting past the threads. Stops the nipples seizing as well. A little air getting past the nipple treads is no big deal anyway as seeing as you creating a vacuum the air won’t get in the the brake lines and can only be drawing toward the vacuum pump. Vacuum bleeding is handy if doing the job on your own especially on a car unless you have really long arms and legs 😊.

    Does the front drivers side caliper need to be rigged up through steps 3-7 or was it just for step 3?

      Left hand does (as it has the secondary master cylinder attached). Right hand does not, so no need.

    Did this today but the front is still not great there are link pipes between the calipers so should i tilt the bike over and bleed from the highest caliper? also With the pvs is that just for the rear i assume the front have a direct ffed from the front MC

    How did you apply vacuum when bleeding the proportioning valve?

    • @bobbo9549
      @bobbo9549 3 роки тому

      Vacuum is applied via the proportion units bleed nipple. I found the plastic bleed hose collapsed though so stretched a narrow spring and inserted it inside the tube to re-enforce it. According to Honda you are supposed to empty the whole system first then fill with new fluid.

    What is the "drivers-passengers"side?

      Good point, it depends which country you living. driver side is different in different countries. But left is left and right is right regardless where you living at.

      @@arijarvela9785 Hello Ari, where I live, when your bike is pointing north, the mountains are on your right, and the Mesa is on your left. When your bike is facing south, the opposites become facts. For clarification, a stick in the dirt will produce a sun-shadow pointing northward. Additionally, walking or riding toward the mountains will take you east, toward The Mississippi River, while walking or riding toward the Mesa will take you toward the Pacific Ocean. Either way, the ride would be long and full of adventure! Guess where I may live?

    This is more of a demonstration than instruction; you are assuming a lot of existing knowledge up front.
