Ideally you want to be about 130 blocks away from land in each direction but if that’s not possible then just as far out from land as possible. Then build 130 blocks up. I built mine 137 blocks up from the ocean surface and ended up at y level 200. The base farm in this video is slow so I would suggest adding an extra spawn layer or 2. You will have to wait at the bottom for maybe a minute once you are finished for the spawns to start dropping. Hope this helped someone!

can someone pls explain why mines pitch black inside and exactly like his but no mobs are spawning. i have mob spawning on and i have lit up all around and caves so its not reduced rates or mob cap
Might have placed the water source too close. You can always add buttons or signs in the column to stop water from flowing into it. Mobs pass through those.
Works well! Got lots of xp, but, the only issue was that the spiders kept spawning even after I put buttons, but I easily fixed this by deleting the blocks with buttons on top of them and replacing them with spruce slabs👍👍
I used this design but my begging tower is 2x2 and not 1x2, my mob rates seem pretty low. Like only 10 mobs for 30 mins of afk. Do friendly mobs go agains the limit? I’m gonna take time to light up caves if there are any, I have a few dogs spots that are straight down.
Just made this in me and my bfs survival world. Super happy to say it works lol Thank god for your cobblestone farm cause sheesh that was a lifesaver the only change i really made was using Cobblestone insted of stone bricks. otherwise really good farm tysm
No mobs will spawn for me. Built exactly as shown. But they don't spawn. I even built it up in the air and lighted the area below and no mobs spawns on the roof
IMPORTANT: Build this farm 150 blocks in the air for max rates. If you have the spare time and blocks you can even go as far as having two layers. Works great!
I usually use mobs for their loot than the xp, so i sometimes leave a campfire under the thing to kill the mobs, which can be extinguished and re-lit when needed. Pretty useful in early game and since i cant really autoclick in console Also I added a second layer of the spawning platform
Warning: you need the buttons! I used it for less than an hour and it completely stopped spawning things because it got completely clogged with only spiders so I had to go up there and kill them and there was so many
I built it exactly how it is in the video waited for 30mins and didn’t get a single spawn even torched the area around it and tried it in the sky but didn’t work a single bit spawned 1 creeper that’s it and u need a lot more then 20 stackes of blocked as I got to roof and ran out
Thanks so much this works perfectly BUT. Dont build up too much because if its too high it will die to fall damage and you dont get the xp. Dont make it any higher than he says but if you build it right it works so fine so ignore the hate comments
This doesn’t work. I tried getting rid of the buttons doesn’t work. Going far away and waiting for them to spawn nope doesn’t work. Any tips? I built it over water.
QUESTION from a newbie... If you used Magma Blocks to build the top of the chute, would that fix the Spider problem without the need for buttons? (And also allow for Spiders to be included in the list of mobs being spawned/harvested?) My thought is that the Magma Blocks would prevent the Spiders from climbing on the walls and cause them to fall down the chute like everything else. But is that accurate? And if so, would Spiders still create problems in other ways? Thanks!
Just finished building, plz when he says 22 blocks do 21 instead, it works tho so thank you bro remember when I did this for the first time like 10 years ago on a much older version
Thanks for the video! I copied it exactly but there are still spiders that spawn (I'm in the 1.19.4 pre-release 3 snapshot). Any ideas of why they're still spawning? Thanks!
I followed every step of this tutorial! But before i made a 44 block pillar to go up to have an afk safe point, I have water caves under my farm so i didn't need to light up the place. But with 44 block plus the 22 blocks for this farm, the spawn rate is great!
Great build do you have any idea how far in each direction should be lit up with torches my spawn rate is decent but i keep finding them bunched tg on the border of my torches and I havent checked like low in the caves yet but im assuming its the same if its not far enough down
Probably 10-20 blocks around the area of the farm as well as under it. Someone said they just made a really high platform and used bubble elevators to get up and down

Although i used Wood so maybe thats what causing it to malfuction???
Ty this works really well and the tutorial was easy to follow 👍
can someone pls explain why mines pitch black inside and exactly like his but no mobs are spawning. i have mob spawning on and i have lit up all around and caves so its not reduced rates or mob cap
i have this exect problem
@@NielsNL1did you find what can fix this problem
@@tayl7rr241 no, it does work but it spawns like 1 mob per hour. It is way too small to be effective
@@NielsNL1 if you on bedrock it dont work btw this video says bedrock but it java he playing on java
Thanks for this. Ive been looking for a loot and xp source for my realm with my friend
Can you stack the mob spawning platform for faster spawns? It works for me but I’m trying to make it more efficient.
Bro mine barely spawns anything
@@Sweept. mine too. I'm so confused.
Yes!! I stacked one more layer and averaged about 5-10 mobs every 30 seconds
But be sure to stack about 2 blocks higher than the first so that the mob height is 2 so that they can actually spawn
Light every cave around you
Great farm!
I followed the steps, but water is going down the hole as well, whereas the drop chute in the video is dry. What did I mess up?
Might have placed the water source too close. You can always add buttons or signs in the column to stop water from flowing into it. Mobs pass through those.
2 Hoppers
2 Slabs
2 Chest
2 Water buckets
78 Stairs
64 Buttons
130 Trapdoors
20 STACKS of any block
The spawner worked great for about almost 2 weeks and then all of a sudden mobs stopped spawning.
mine too
Works well! Got lots of xp, but, the only issue was that the spiders kept spawning even after I put buttons, but I easily fixed this by deleting the blocks with buttons on top of them and replacing them with spruce slabs👍👍
Is anyone else experiencing issues with mobs not spawning despite lighting up the area and nearby caves(if any)?
it dont work in bedrock ik it says bedrock but he is playing java
I made this and it works, but spiders still spawn and block other mobs from falling down the hole
On Ps5 & built it block for block … used oxidized copper & andesite … over the ocean & 100 blocks up… did an AFK session & no spawns
Just made this in me and my bfs survival world. Super happy to say it works lol Thank god for your cobblestone farm cause sheesh that was a lifesaver the only change i really made was using Cobblestone insted of stone bricks. otherwise really good farm tysm
Sorry just wanted to ask wheter you made it in land or ocean i did mine in tge ocean and nothing spawns
@@ethanmichael8635 I made mine on land I think the base part was like y-74?? I cant remember
O thank you
No mobs will spawn for me. Built exactly as shown. But they don't spawn. I even built it up in the air and lighted the area below and no mobs spawns on the roof
same
IMPORTANT: Build this farm 150 blocks in the air for max rates. If you have the spare time and blocks you can even go as far as having two layers. Works great!
I have 5 layers total in mine. Works really good
2 layers I made it so only creeper can spawn. The others made it so only skeletons and zombies can spawn. And made the entire thing slider proof
I usually use mobs for their loot than the xp, so i sometimes leave a campfire under the thing to kill the mobs, which can be extinguished and re-lit when needed. Pretty useful in early game and since i cant really autoclick in console
Also I added a second layer of the spawning platform
Please tell me, for the second layer did you just add another grid above the 1st one with a 2 block gap?
@@user-manos7 yes, 2 blocks above the original spawning platform
(2 block space between both platforms)
@oddzusomethingidk8756 thanks, I made it 3 layers and it works great
I’m not sure what went wrong but mobs just don’t spawn in mine I built it over an ocean so caves can’t be the problem 😊
literally the same thing happened to me
Same it’s probably to do with drowneds
Warning: you need the buttons! I used it for less than an hour and it completely stopped spawning things because it got completely clogged with only spiders so I had to go up there and kill them and there was so many
I built it exactly how it is in the video waited for 30mins and didn’t get a single spawn even torched the area around it and tried it in the sky but didn’t work a single bit spawned 1 creeper that’s it and u need a lot more then 20 stackes of blocked as I got to roof and ran out
me too bruh did u ever figure it out
Did you make it out of netherrack?
@@harrison.maffett7091 nah bro just torn it down
@@Brentist78 did it with cobble at first then used nether brick for a darker block but didn’t do anything
If ur on console bedrock mob grinders are pointless cos every update they get changed so it’s never really gonna work how they do on pc
It works thank you very much for making the video I've tried Soo many videos and it did not work but when I saw your video it works!!!😊😊
for some reason i’ve blocked off all the light areas even the stair parts (doubled the blocks i placed) and half of it is lit up inside still
Thanks so much this works perfectly BUT. Dont build up too much because if its too high it will die to fall damage and you dont get the xp. Dont make it any higher than he says but if you build it right it works so fine so ignore the hate comments
For some reason no mobs are spawning and I’m just standing there waiting and out the xp farm in the water so far nothing
it dont work in bedrock ik it says bedrock but he is playing on java
Thank you I need you to make a iron farm for bedrock 1.20.1 everytime I make it the golem never spawns plzzz
This doesn’t work. I tried getting rid of the buttons doesn’t work. Going far away and waiting for them to spawn nope doesn’t work. Any tips? I built it over water.
Make sure ther ant drowns I think they can affect
The OSD thing was actually nice😂😂
I built this 36 blocks high and obviously it goes up 22 more blocks. It’s not spawning any mobs at all. Is this to high?
your afk spot isn't high enough - mobs spawn below you in addition to the farm above you...
@@ThisGirlJ_mc where should my afk spot be then??
@@49_vr6 mine is always 49 blocks above the tallest spawnable block - could be a mountain, a build, etc.
QUESTION from a newbie... If you used Magma Blocks to build the top of the chute, would that fix the Spider problem without the need for buttons? (And also allow for Spiders to be included in the list of mobs being spawned/harvested?)
My thought is that the Magma Blocks would prevent the Spiders from climbing on the walls and cause them to fall down the chute like everything else. But is that accurate? And if so, would Spiders still create problems in other ways?
Thanks!
Your mobs would take damage walking over the magma blocks and die hitting the ground
Just finished building, plz when he says 22 blocks do 21 instead, it works tho so thank you bro remember when I did this for the first time like 10 years ago on a much older version
i know right! i used to play on my ipad on like 1.6 or something
5:50 Relatable. So, so relatable.
I've built this and yet nothing is spawning am I doing something wrong
Thanks for the video! I copied it exactly but there are still spiders that spawn (I'm in the 1.19.4 pre-release 3 snapshot). Any ideas of why they're still spawning? Thanks!
i had the same problems so i just put carpet where the buttons were and then it worked fine
just made it and NOTHING spawned. did it perfectly
You must be far from it but not too 2 far from it
I followed every step of this tutorial! But before i made a 44 block pillar to go up to have an afk safe point, I have water caves under my farm so i didn't need to light up the place. But with 44 block plus the 22 blocks for this farm, the spawn rate is great!
I built the farm as shown, had to bring more blocks, but nothing is spawning :/
it dont work in bedrock ik it says bedrock but he is playing on java
This worked thanks
Followed the guide exactly but no mobs spawning
Same for me
@arunbaldwin1412he said to light up areas or caves under
I just built the traditional mob grinder and added a second spawning level. Pretty good spawn rates and loot.
Someone said they just made a really high platform and used bubble elevators to get up and down
Turn down your render distance and it should help a bit
0:25 if you look at the sky, clouds will be here perfectly
Bro make 6 to 7 layers or 10 layers it can produce enough xp for your enchantments tables also you have left with some ex which you can use in anvil you would be satisfied satisfied
Quite nice guide! Its much more fun than farming blazes for XP to enchant my armor!
i did everything correctly and no mobs have spawn:(
If you're on bedrock, sometimes the inside won't be dark. It's a lighting bug. Just log off and log back on to reload the chunk
@@Cpt.Croissant another evidence Java better you can reload chunks without leaving
@@BORNaHITMAN4 I use Java for modded play, I use bedrock to play on a realm with friends and family. The ability to play bedrock on nearly anything is nice

Did you manage to fix the issue? Nothing is spawning for me 😢
2 hoppers
2 chests
2 water buckets
78 stairs (1 stack and 12 blocks)
1 stack of buttons
130 Trapdoors (2 stacks and 2 blocks)
20 STACKS OF BLOCKS (1,280 blocks)
*Recommended: Please get 20 stacks of blocks before you start*
*Get 320 cobblestone (5 stacks) and smelt it, and then craft the blocks from the vid and then you should have 20 stacks.*
I built this and I am literally getting zero spawns. I dont know what i could have done wrong it is completely dark inside and I even built it one platform higher aswell. Anyone have any tips?
same
It's just ass u think
Building it in the sky helps a lot aswell also adding 4 more layers helps too
I recommend an extra 4 stacks of blocks, that’s how many I needed
The group chat when I told the bois that the furnace glitch was patched 💀
Not one mob has spawned in the last 20 minutes, some xp farm this is
No one else made a good cheap farm, you earned yourself a sub 👍
I love and appreciate these people that take into consideration of other versions like bedrock. Keep being you!!
How can i stop Spider from Spawning the buttons dont function
?? Nice Farm
hopefully it works... Edit: IT WORKS WELL LETS GO
does not work, tried to raise the top and still nothing, used a stack of torches and STILL nothing
Nothings spawning, any suggestions?
Tip: after making the mob farm, don't be next to it, afk at least a chunk away to get more mob loot
thank u
I afk for 30 min and got 0 mob spawns
Can you use buttons instead of trapdoors or is it not the same?
