Erik, thank you for a professionally done video of my little daily driver! If the flight video is too rough / loud because of the windy day we picked, please feel free to come back out for another one! Many of my friends have already texted: "Brad in the hangar without profanity - how did that happen????" Who has noticed my shoes?
Back in the 1970's my father's good friend owned one of these, he was in Lompoc California, both him and his wife flew it. He took me flying in it quite a few times. It's probably one of the prettiest planes there is!
118, actually. I don't run the engine terribly hard, so that's part of it. The later airplanes with the smaller outriggers are also a bit faster. But it flies really nice!
@@bdon661 That's faster than the Cessna 172 that I fly. My dad and I just picked up a 1946 14-13-2 in nice shape with a 150 installed and a 165 Franklin in a crate. The 150 is shot but the 165 is freshly rebuilt and just needs assembled and installed. The vinyl is en excellent shape. It has a fixed pitch McCauley prop though and we're not sure yet if it'll work with the 165 Franklin. Winter project once we finish our RV-8.
you probably dont care but if you're bored like me during the covid times then you can watch all of the latest movies and series on InstaFlixxer. Have been watching with my gf lately xD
I had a friend that had one of thesese:NEVER PUT LARGER TIRES ON THIS AIRPLANE OR YOU WILL BE SORRY111111Also mINTAIN THE STRUTS ON LANDING GEAR OR IT WILL EMBARASS YOU AND COST YOU A LOT OF money!

I just bought a CA Sr in Caldwell ID ... going to fly her down to Coleman TX in a few weeks. Would love to compare notes/planes.
@@vh2q Outstanding. I'd be happy to compare notes and provide any insight I can.
What an exquisite airplane, bested only by the narration...
Beautiful aircraft, and the owner seems to understand and know his plane well.

Erik, this could be my Dad's Bellanca. Flown out of Waco TX in the early '50s, as I remember. Maybe earlier, before my memory.
One of my favorite planes ever. I want one.
Nice to see you enjoying vintage stuff with their vintage foibles. :)
Awesome vid again and wonderful airplane. Thank you for sharing!
My Buddy Brad! Awesome rundown on the Bellanca. Great video Erik!
Beautiful airplane. Enjoyed!
First plane we looked at.
What a beauty!!
You teased us with several mentions of a flight video. Not fair to do. We WANT the flight video.
I’m editing that one now. Haha
Nice video! Where is the flight video he keeps talking about? Would love to see it!
Im editing that one now
@@ErikJohnston sweet!
bEAUTIFUL RESTORATION!
116kts cruise? It looks so much faster sitting on the ground. Those cowling eyebrows are a very interesting feature too! Beautiful airplane!!!!

Audio during the talk is left ear only?
Dangit! I forgot to fill the right side audio. It’s an easy fix in post that I simply forgot.
Most fun airplane I’ve ever gotten to take a flight in owned by the greatest airman I’ve ever had the honor and privilege of knowing.
