This was a great video. I was thinking about getting this over the s&b cold air inatke
Both of them are great systems. You can check out our S&B How-To write-up over on the Northridge Nation blog site: www.northridgenation.com/cold-air-kit-jl-2-0-turbo-sb-filters/
There are a bunch of other tech write-ups there too!
I read on another similar install that the turbo needed to be retuned to prevent damage after the install. What are your thoughts on this?
Not enough of an air flow change to worry about it.
Is there thing showing if it helps the horsepower or Hinders the performance
There is a chart showing the increased flow of the aFe Momentum GT CAI compared to the stock air intake: www.northridge4x4.com/part/intake-systems/50-70035g-afe-power-momentum-gt-pro-guard-7-cold-air-intake-system
I have a 2020 Rubicon unlimited 2.0 , and I got a check engine light that came on after installing the AFE Cold Air Intake. It keeps coming back-on even after clearing code. The error code is (Boost Side Evap Purge System Performance). Does anyone know how to fix this issue?
We haven't seen that code come up with an aFe CAI kit yet. We'll reach out to aFe and see if they have any ideas.
Russell, we heard back from aFe, they've seen the problem with a few 2.0Ts.
Get a hold of their tech dept, they have a reduced sized orifice that will help fix the problem.

Hi Rusell, I bought this almost a year and I have this same code as you do. Did you ever get it resolved. AFE sent me a new supposedly a new redesign vacuum tee but it is the same one. Did you keep the AFE intake? Just wondering. I am currently trying to see what to do
@@mcortez018 My guess is its not the vacuum tee but the fact that the air take sensor must be vertical so the air flows over it properly. Once you install the plastic insert into the grommet, and install the air take sensor with a quarter turn, look inside and make sure the sensor is vertical and not horizontal. The hookup should be facing forward as it did with the stock setup. This is a pain in the arse! If it is not, back the plastic insert out a bit, use some gloves (or just a rag so you can grip it) and turn it until it is in correctly. This is NOT mentioned in the instructions anywhere!!!
How much HP does it add?
aFe claims it flows 43% better than stock and adds up to 12HP and 12 Ft-Lbs torque.
Anyone get a check engine light after install? I’ve attempted multiple times to disconnect the battery to reset but the light comes back on.
We haven't heard that as a problem. Have you ran the code to see what it is?

@@russelldegroff9491 have you found a remedy for this code? I’ve installed the same intake and have that same code. Thanks!
I have the same problem I called AFE there is a fix they send out still waiting on mine
@@ericaustin2176 Hi Eric, did your problem ever get resolved? I have the same error code on my jeep which is quite annoying paying tons of money for something that gives you a check engine light. Thanks!
why didn’t you have a video of it on the road with the sound?
We didn't think of it at the time.

What makes this cold air intake better than the s&b and the mishimoto one?
S&B Filters make a great CAI, we sell those too: www.northridge4x4.com/brand/s-b-filters
We don't currently sell the Mishimoto CAIs and haven't install any, so it's hard to say how they compare to the aFe Power or S&B filters CAI.
@@northridgenation since you sell both, im looking to get one. Which one do you recommend?
Are this California legal ??
Unfortunately not CARB legal at this time.
We just received word back from aFe, the kit is currently going through CARB certification. With the COVID slowing things down,, they do not know how long it will take.
Will this affect the Jeep warranty?
That's a loaded question Greg. Check out the Magnuson-Moss warranty act of 1975.
In general, adding aftermarket parts to your 4x4 should not void the warranty, however, if the part you installed caused a problem, then yes, your warranty can be denied.
For examples:
If you put 37" tires on your 4x4 and you snap an axle shaft, more than likely that shaft failure was due to the much larger tires and the warranty would be void.
However if you put aftermarket axles under your Jeep and the headlight harness melts, it would be hard to show that the melted harness was because of the new axle parts, so it should be warrantied.
@@northridgenation Sorry for the question but in California, there are so many restrictions as you know. I noticed this product could not be shipped to California due to the CARB stuff. Thanks for the reply.
