      I think the secret here is you just have to swing in front of Bryson in person. If Bryson setup a GCquad in front of of me and said “I need you to swing faster,” you bet I’m swinging faster 😂

      I’d also be willing to bet he shares some techniques off camera to help out. But in all fairness, grant probably doesn’t lack efficiency in his swing. Most of us have room for swing improvements before it turns into just “swing faster”

      Well... it's like when you go to the gym to get stronger. You nerves must adjust to more weight and increase muscle activation. That's what you learn today: same thing for speed

  • @joelcaufield4451

    I think the most impressive part is that 90% of those balls went straight down the middle, while grant swung completely out of his shoes 😅 what an animal

    • @mariooo88
      @mariooo88 Рік тому +1

      lol we don't see where the balls land. We see about 5% of the landings with a zoom in, the rest we just see the very first part of the fly, which doesn't allow us to see if it's slicing or hooking. They all look straight at first, but trust me they are not and also Grant at the end says how some of his strongest ones went straight, it clearly means the others were not.

A killed driver for me was like 158-160 ball speed and after trying this I got up to 167. Then went back to my normal swing and was consistently hitting 160 thinking I was swinging slow. Thanks so much for this video!!!

    Bryson’s swing coaching is kind of funny but it makes sense. As a former baseball player, when you have a smoother swing you don’t feel like you’re swinging as hard, but then you end up hitting the ball a lot harder than you thought. Crazy how opposite the mind and body work sometimes. Great video Grant!

    • @mariooo88

    Love this, sooo many golf lessons are far too technical, I was in the same place, having lessons and my shots were getting shorter and shorter, definitely a case of paralysis by analysis, I stopped the lessons and concentrated far more on throwing the club head at the ball with much looser wrists so the swing feels far more relaxed and the ball speed is FAR higher, with this approach it's far easier to "feel" the shot and easier to generate more speed...Ok I'm 62 years old but my drives have gained over 30 yards, still only 250 yards... Only another 100 yards t go! Great video and love watching.

    These swing speed videos and stuff that Bryson and Borgmeier and all these guys are doing are so awesome. From what I've learned and working on my swing I went from maxing out at like 165mph to now my record is 191mph ball speed and I cruise around 180 with my on course swing. Picked up about 30 yards on average. Still pushing it. I'd love to hit that 200mph goal one day.

    12:40 yea.. I started golf four months ago and it just felt good to get further and hit harder/faster through the ball. In the second month I pinched a nerve at my rib and I had to pause for a whole month (could barely get out of the bed, hurts like hell). This month I injured the tendon in my hand, thankfully just a bit, so I hope it'll be fine next week or the week after again.. but for someone who never had done actual sport, pushing your muscles/tendons with those high speed movements from 0 to full speed is a recipe for injury.

    The overload principle. In a video with Freddy Couples, his teacher told him not to get comfortable swinging slowly because his swing would default to that. When I was serious about weight training, I sometimes did partial reps with weights that were way heavier than I could lift with full reps. Some times I would simply take the weight off the rack and hold it for a few seconds. The goal was to get my body use to the heavier weight. My body and mind had to adjust to the heavier weight and I became stronger. The process that Bryson took you through is similar. Bryson’s cruising ball speed is probably 185 or better because he forced his mind and body to adjust. I unfortunately did what Freddy’s coach told him not to do, and now I am working hard to get my swing speed back. I lost about 20mph, but I have gained about 10 of that back in the past month. This video will help.
