    soap as in dishwasher liquid soap?

      shazomaniac So sorry for the (very!) late reply. I'm talking about the dish soap you would use to hand wash dishes - like Dawn. Hope that helps!

    This isn't batik... this is a craft to kind of make your art look like batik but only one aspect of it. The best part of batik is all the beautiful layers of colours not the marbled cracks from the final colour...

    Colouring in the background makes this a waste of time - why would you want black bits in your cracks? Surely you would draw maybe the outline of the leaf and the stems with the pastels and then paint over the top, so that when you rinse it your design is picked out and the rest isn't (which is closer to fabric batik anyway)?
