Hell no. Even though we would be able to compete in the top half almost every season. I would rather compete in a conference that is actually feels challenging.
Absolutely not! This is where we have always been, to much history and no upside! Im sure this is exactly what many in the conference would just love,to get rid of the team who has won it the most!
There is so much long-standing animosity, if not actual hate against Kentucky by most SEC teams. Kentucky doesn't get a fair shake with the SEC network. In the ACC , 5:16 Kentucky would have some immediate major rivalries . In the SEC Kentucky would benefit from a larger TV market yielding more money. These are the merits for UK Basketball. Football would fair even better in the ACC. Likewise, for the other sports programs for male and female teams. Yes, it wouldn't be an easy change but it would quickly (one full year) settle in with great fan acceptance.
Its a football conference and UK is a basketball school. The SEC is, without a doubt, a football conference. I think it would be great to have the 2 biggest college basketball rivalries in the same conference. Plus, Kentucky would actually be competitive in football in the ACC
It would probably help in football 😂. But, too much money in the SEC. Besides, we usually play either Duke or NC every year plus Louisville. So, do we really need to move to the ACC?
Won't help in football we won't get thr same recruits because we aren't in the sec. We get players that Alabama auburn Tennessee Florida etc don't go after and they work hard to prove those teams wrong
Well… I have struggled to listen to this podcast longer than 3-minutes! I mean, I’m a huge KENTUCKY FAN in all aspects! But the consistent rapid drabble that is packing this podcast actually turns a topic “ close to my heart “ in to water torture! Now? Add to this a ridiculous topic like “Kentucky joining the ACC” and you have DESPERATION for topics… and this when you have KENTUCKY ATHLETICS to discuss???? NO! Kentucky is not a coward! NO! Kentucky isn’t going to “run away” from the SEC… their history… like a coward…and DAMAGE their own reputation ! CONGRATULATIONS! Locked on Kentucky! You actually had me listening to your entire podcast this time… head spinning from the Drabble…. only now I think of this podcast as “Locked on Nonsense”…. Pass the Aspirin somebody?
The SEC has been an absolute juggernaut of the football world for 15+ years now and may currently have the most stacked basketball conference EVER. The money made from being an SEC member is too much to risk right now. Plus, you have Kentucky's history with the SEC, and history is hard for any fan to give up. As far as building Kentucky up, the move would make perfect sense, outside of the money that would you'd lose out on, at least in the beginning and the history you'd be leaving behind. Football wise, Kentucky would have an easier road to bigger bowl games and many more wins. On the basketball side, you'd be joining a conference with two other blue blood programs, and I believe the rivalry built between unc and duke would quickly surpass the rivalry with Tennessee and Florida. Plus, the national basketball media has had a hard-on for the ACC for as long as I can remember. I think the only way you could realistically make the move is if you got one of the big football programs to make the move with you, ideally from the Big 10. You'd need Ohio St, Michigan, or Penn St to join with Kentucky to help add revenue on the football side of things and help add stability to the conference. Otherwise, it's too risky.
This isn’t a serious discussion. You don’t just move conferences on a whim. There’s too much money and politics involved. Somebody must’ve been bored and fantasized
They’re one of the founding members of the SEC. No, they’re not moving to the ACC, not now, not ever. There is a higher chance of the ACC joining the SEC than UK moving.
Rather play in the sec, the competition is better. But, I do like the acc/sec challenge, where we get to play an ACC team on the road or at home. Those provide some fascinating matchups.
I was wondering if Kentucky joined the ACC, I think it may benefit the Kentucky Football also. It could be easier path the playoffs if they could finish at close to the top in football. They should be able to recruit at the level they do know. I would like your opinion. I am not as knowledgeable as you are on the facts. Thanks for your great show. Cliff
Lol. The ACC is about to implode when FSU and Clemson jump somewhere for football. The money for the next 20 yrs is in the SEC and the SEC's contracts with ESPN.
That’s old news. ACC is here to stay now that Miami, Clemson, FSU and interchangeable of NC, Lou, and NCstste and now even SMU because of the oil money. Big 12 maybe
Arkansas is definitely a rival. And wed leave the best baseball, football, basketball, gymnastics conference? Its not even worth considering. I appreciate your work but this is poor content. And clearly from a very young analyst. We are the SEC.
This would actually make sense. I have no idea how UK even got in the SEC in the first place. Kentucky is not geographically in the south, nor is Kentucky culturally a southern state.
Da fuck it is everyone I know in Kentucky has a hick accent and has some of highest rates of smoker or smokeless tobacco use in the nation were definitely more southern than acc especially from Lexington eastward now Louisville may not be a southern type of culture but from Lexington eastward it is more southern than Northern culture sorry #notsorry I love being a hick from the sticks I don't want to be a smelly city slicker lol 😂 Kentucky needs to stay in the sec the best conference in the nation hands down
Read your history books, Kentucky has always been referred to as, "the gateway to the south." As far as it goes with traditional southern schools where would they be? How many of them have a storied history of winning? Do they have more banners from SEC tournament championships or, NCAA tournament championships? I think not, you sound like someone who supports a crumby southern school... The SEC will always be Kentucky's home, your school might be the one that gets moved!
With the NIL deals now running college sports the SEC has a stranglehold on the best college players. Take a look at the top 25. While this exists, and the SEC being much richer than the ACC, it's not likely to change in the next while
Unfortunately, money is usually the determining factor when teams move conferences. Kentucky leaving the SEC and joining the ACC would be better for Kentucky fans' health because being in the SEC in football has drastically affected Big Blue Nation in the worst way. I'd honestly like to see Kentucky in the SEC, but unfortunately, it's unlikely to happen.
This is absolutely ridiculous. The ACC may not even be around in a couple years. The PAC12 and Big12 are basically 2nd tier conferences compared ro the B1G and SEC. That 2nd tier will grow to include rhe ACC as well. In football it already has.
No way...Unless the ACC merges with the Big East. That would be interesting. On the other hand, if it's not broke don't mess with it and the SEC is definitely not broke.
Several??? There’s 2 other ACC teams, after UL, that make a great rivalry series. Also, UK is a bedrock SEC team, there’s no way in hell the SEC would ever let them go.
Who says that the Professional College Football League should have the same schools as the Professional College Basketball League (PCBL)? I know, I know, I'm ahead of myself, but go with me. If we wished to be part of a great league, we should join the basketball schools and not the football schools. Imagine this PCBL: Kentucky, Duke, North Carolina, UCLA, UCONN, Kansas, Gonzaga, Michigan State, Indiana, Syracuse, Georgetown, Villanova (....). Every game is a Sweet 16 matchup. Sell that! It competes with football if ya do it right.
I really dislike the idea of this because we would most likely always stomp the whole regular season and then not be ready for the tournament and fall below expectations
With all due respect, it won't ever happen. UK is a charter member of the SEC, and they would lose millions if they went to a lesser conference like the ACC.
I think this is absolutely ridiculous. Basing it off of perceived match ups even more so. Why not go to the Big 10 and play IU, Michigan St and UCLA every year? Duke and UNC are big games because they’re non conference games. Kentucky is SEC basketball.
Louisville would get more wins against Kentucky if they played 2, possibly 3 times. It would be a super conference if uk joined. Good for uk football but uk basketball won't want to play ACC juggernauts on the regular
Kentucky fans talk about the money from the SEC, it's not like as a fan you get a dividend check. So, when you finish 5th in the SEC in football you can say " look at all the money we get from being in the SEC" As, a fan you stand a chance once every 10 years you might win the ACC in football. You'll never ever get to the playoffs in the SEC. Enjoy that money.
why are people like pushing for this to happen? we aren’t FSU or Notre Dame: we don’t duck the SEC because football hasn’t provided us hardly anything since 2000. so let’s leave to an easier conference and get 0 credit when we do have a great year in football? because football pays the bills, whether the boosters that are all in basketball admit it or not. nobody in the national media talks basketball until march. the national media talks college football nearly all year round. the ACC hasn’t won a CFP or NY6 game since 2019. I rather go 7-5 in the SEC than 10-2 in the ACC. and right now in basketball, guess the best conference right now? NIL will make the SEC a big time conference in basketball. WE HAVE IT. THE BOOSTERS ONLY CARE ABOUT BASKETBALL
The only place changibg conf makes sense is in football only. We could be a big 12 contender every year or a ranked acc program. But there is ni way tgey change conf in basketball.
The only reason for UK to move to the ACC is if UK doesnt want to compete. Im assuming its football. Then Mitch needs to get of his ass and go hire a big time coach. Stop BSn with these subar coaches. Should've known Stoops wasn't going to do anything. Go hire a big hitter. Spend the money. Basketball is just fine in the SEC.
It would be the best of both worlds, football and basketball for UK if they do move to the ACC.. it would give new life to our football program and no down side to our basketball program!! I say it is a win-win for UK!! Just sayin!!
Its a downgrade in multiple ways. The sec is a much stronger conference overall. Theres more than basketball and football btw. Kentucky sports like baseball and hell even volleyball n shit like that would downgrade because there not around as good of competition. The sec is the best. Idk why yall want them to be around worse teams.
No. This is a horrible idea. The SEC is far superior on every level. Kentucky has always sucked at football, even in our best years. We are used to it.
My dawg just needed sumn to talk about today I guess … cause this is ridiculous. We not goin to the ACC. Tf is the acc 😂😭… we play duke fairly often . We play Louisville every year …… delete this shit bruh this is awful
I would stop watching them, stop following them, despite the success of recent conference foe’s we own the SEC . The SEC will always belong to us us, we could not win a never conference title for a hundred years and they still wouldn’t catch us, the SEC will always go through Lexington screw the ACC.
Absolutely not. The ACC has a pitiful TV deal and that’s why Florida State and Clemson and North Carolina are wanting out. So why not let Duke, North Carolina,Clemson, And Florida State join the SEC?
Hell no. Even though we would be able to compete in the top half almost every season. I would rather compete in a conference that is actually feels challenging.

It will never happen to much money and the SEC is where Kentucky belongs.
Absolutely no way!!!
Ridiculous!!

No way, I think there's too much to lose moving to the ACC then their would be to gain.
Hell no. I would love the competition but I love the money and a stable conference more.
Absolutely no way. SEC all the way.
Acc has always been the king conference of college basketball!!!
This isn’t a serious discussion. You don’t just move conferences on a whim. There’s too much money and politics involved. Somebody must’ve been bored and fantasized
Thank you. It's stupid to even discuss this.
Id say stay in the sec, and add more acc opponents to non con schedule
They’re one of the founding members of the SEC. No, they’re not moving to the ACC, not now, not ever. There is a higher chance of the ACC joining the SEC than UK moving.
This makes no sense at all because of football, why would we even considered joining a weaker and less lucrative conference?
Rather play in the sec, the competition is better. But, I do like the acc/sec challenge, where we get to play an ACC team on the road or at home. Those provide some fascinating matchups.

Thats a loser mentality. Iron sharpens iron. Being around the best constantly will make you better. Kentucky needs a new hc. Stoops is ass.
Dont say also. That's all its going to benefit. Lol.
Lol. The ACC is about to implode when FSU and Clemson jump somewhere for football. The money for the next 20 yrs is in the SEC and the SEC's contracts with ESPN.

Arkansas is definitely a rival. And wed leave the best baseball, football, basketball, gymnastics conference? Its not even worth considering. I appreciate your work but this is poor content. And clearly from a very young analyst. We are the SEC.
They'd be a good fit for the Big 10. Despite what people think, Kentucky is geographicallyans culturally a midwestern state
No. State of Kentucky relates much more to the states likes the Carolinas and Virginias then Michigan and Ohio
hell no why move when the SEC is makin a life
SEC is where we belong, if anything add Duke, UNC and Louisville to the SEC.
Stay in the SEC, play ACC in non
That's not happening kentucky will always be an sec team.
As UK Alumni, I hate this idea. We are in a top 2 conference the other being the Big 10. It is a step down for us in every way.
NO!
Why the hell would they do that? The ACC is failing. I'm sorry, but this is stupid to even think about.
ACC isn’t falling anymore.

That would be the dumbest move in the history of moves.
My man just making videos for the hell of it now 😂
bring it on 💯💯
Uk football might have a prayers hope to make the CFP. But uk basketball don't want the acc smoke

Let's to go an unstable conference that's generates less money so we have less funding for facilities, recruiting, etc. Great take...
With all due respect, it won't ever happen. UK is a charter member of the SEC, and they would lose millions if they went to a lesser conference like the ACC.
No, don’t even see the appeal in acc
UK does not want to see Louisville potentially 3 times a year
I think this is absolutely ridiculous. Basing it off of perceived match ups even more so. Why not go to the Big 10 and play IU, Michigan St and UCLA every year? Duke and UNC are big games because they’re non conference games. Kentucky is SEC basketball.

It is at least worth consideration after a financial analysis.

NIL will make the SEC a big time conference in basketball. WE HAVE IT. THE BOOSTERS ONLY CARE ABOUT BASKETBALL
They have little history with Oklahoma and Texas because they just joined the SEC,
The ACC is ass other than two or three teams. The level of competition in the sec is amazing
feels like you’re trying to run away? are we running? 😂
We would be much better off in football and b-ball would be more exciting playing Duke, UNC, NCS, & Syracuse.
ACC is way more historic basketball conference
only year i’m giving Sec the Nod that yall better
Is this what happens when you have to feed the content machine? Stupid and ridiculous scenarios that have no chance of happening.
North Carolina Vs Kentucky every year.🍿
That would be stupid. We Southeastern conference that would be so stupid
I don’t see it happening. The SEC money is way better. Now way you voluntarily take a financial downgrade in this modern NIL ERA
W take Lance
That would be dumb on Kentucky's Part giving up all that money.
You must
Be bored.
The only place changibg conf makes sense is in football only. We could be a big 12 contender every year or a ranked acc program. But there is ni way tgey change conf in basketball.
It wouldn't work That's crazy talk. Stay where you're at
The only reason for UK to move to the ACC is if UK doesnt want to compete. Im assuming its football. Then Mitch needs to get of his ass and go hire a big time coach. Stop BSn with these subar coaches. Should've known Stoops wasn't going to do anything. Go hire a big hitter. Spend the money. Basketball is just fine in the SEC.
Yep, stay in the Sec and win 7 games and go the mayo bowl. That's a good scenario.
The Atlantic Cost CONFERENCE (ACC) is the weakest Conference in the whole world? That would not be a smart move.
It would be the best of both worlds, football and basketball for UK if they do move to the ACC.. it would give new life to our football program and no down side to our basketball program!! I say it is a win-win for UK!! Just sayin!!

HARD PASS
Duke, Louisville, and NC should all just join the SEC over these next few years
No too much money in the SEC from the TV contract…never going to happen..
No damn way! Kentucky IS the sec
Stop with all the acc talk. Why in hell would a power like Kentucky want to do that?
Hope so get that terrible school out of SEC there in there Geographically and there biggest rivals are all ACC teams!!
My dawg just needed sumn to talk about today I guess … cause this is ridiculous. We not goin to the ACC. Tf is the acc 😂😭… we play duke fairly often . We play Louisville every year …… delete this shit bruh this is awful
No.
Hell no 😂 Wtf why would Kentucky move to the ACC?
The SEC is KENTUCKY.. KENTUCKY is the SEC
I would stop watching them, stop following them, despite the success of recent conference foe’s we own the SEC . The SEC will always belong to us us, we could not win a never conference title for a hundred years and they still wouldn’t catch us, the SEC will always go through Lexington screw the ACC.
Why were the University of Kentucky the number one program in the nation! Would want to go to the shi! Hole of the ACC!????
Sorry, no "buts," so I do hope you stop mulling this one over. BBN for Life!!! Go CATS!!!
UK is the SEC, wtf are we talkin about here?
Absolutely not. The ACC has a pitiful TV deal and that’s why Florida State and Clemson and North Carolina are wanting out. So why not let Duke, North Carolina,Clemson, And Florida State join the SEC?
Kentucky is the SEC period.
Add Louisville to SEC.
Kentucky will never win the SEC in football and now that the SEC is better in Bball you might not win it in basketball 😊
I think so. The SEC is getting too hard for UK. They could clean sweep the ACC every year.
No way!
Worst video u have ever made Lance ! No! We wanna compete against the best win or lose , we have so much history in SEC .
This is insane, hell naw
Lance...no. Just no 🤦🏽♂️
NO NO!!! Hell No!
Plum dumb idea
No way, The SEC is the only place to be...UNLESS you are Arkansas HA HA HA
